6:01 A note on the big 3x3 snowstorm attacks (not the ones on the brazier) - Since they spawn with their centre tile on you, they will not appear if you're standing next to a solid object/wall that they can't spread into. As long as you're always next to the tree/wall/brazier, they will only appear while you run between those things. So yes, you could technically get hit by one if you weren't in that one-tile gap next to the root, but unless the attack started while you were running (or if there was another player somewhere), it won't appear in the first place.
Late to the party, but going to leave this here for everyone and myself for reference: Materials from crates scale to level from 1 to 99 with respect to Farming, Mining, Woodcutting, Herblore, Crafting, and Fishing Optimal levels for expected value is 99 for all except Farming, where the optimal level is 77 [until see below update] For total expected value compared to level, they contribute the following per 28 rolls: Crafting 99 vs 1 adds 6.5k gp Mining 99 vs 1 adds 11.3k gp Woodcutting 99 vs 1 adds 17k gp Herblore 99 vs 1 adds 14.6k gp Fishing 99 vs 1 adds 7.4k gp Farming 77 vs 1 adds (get this) *108.9k gp* [yes, one-hundred eight point nine thousand gp per 28 rolls] After 77, Farming starts going down (though that will change in the future, since Spirit seeds will no longer be worth 0 gp since the poll for them being tradeable for seed packets passed), eventually settling at just 99.5k gp added at 99 (though, again, after the patch spirit seeds will be worth an average of 100k gp though seed packs). Moral of the story? If you plan to solo and aren't an ironman (the main reason to do this for non-irons is for the sweet free construction xp without having to actually train it and the money from +50% drops), train up your Farming. Getting Farming to even level 60 (trivial and not too price-y) is +100k gp per 28 rolls. If you don't hate yourself and want to get good money without going for 5 99s pre-Wintertodt, know the max (even with all 99s minus farming) is 248k gp per 28. If you just want to get 80% of max [200k gp per 28 rolls] at least, *you just need at least 30 Mining, Crafting and Herblore, 50 Woodcutting and Fishing, and 60 Farming* . On construction, if you are going to solo straight from 50 to 99, you can expect to hit level 70 construction if you start at level 33. The more levels you put into it to start, however, the better your starting rate will be and the more money you will save in the long run. Get as high a construction as you're comfortable with, but don't go overboard - it suffers from diminishing level gain returns for sure some point between level 50 and level 70 (not sure, only done the solo grind 3 times from levels 21, 33, and 35, and I'm starting one from level 70 next week, but I've done some rough calcs and the xp gain for 99 FM in Construction plateaus toward 2 mil as you go higher). And, despite what 'efficiency-minded people' say, it is worth it to Solo over mass [for low hp early accounts that can solo with cakes and a regen bracelet specifically]. Mass is AFK and faster firemaking xp, sure, but the difference is only 30% additional time (so about 15-20 hours overall). While it seems like a lot, recognize that 15-20 hours isn't wasted or lost time. Soloing trades those 15-20 hours for an average of 15 mil gp (low balling, you make 50% more than an expected 20 mil gp, plus 15+ hours at 1.5x money compared to massing) AND 700k xp in Construction if you start at 33 (a monetary investment of about 200k gp that reaps 10 mil gp worth of profit). The Construction XP alone is worth 2 to 3 hours of training at best xp rates for their respective levels, plus the 10 mil gp or so it costs to get from 33 to 70 typically. So Soloing, in actuality, is like massing but with an extra twenty hours where you're effectively making 1 to 1.5 mil gp per hour between drops and construction xp. That's nothing at high level, but when just starting an account (you can reach my recommended stats in less than a week), that's a mental gp/hr rate. Lastly, I can't say this enough for the people who haven't solo'ed, but soloing Wintertodt is actually pretty fun. When you're massing, it feels like you're constantly rushing but just going through the motions. Most games you don't do anything but light a brazier and toss some wood in, then scurry to the bank and hope you don't miss the next round. When you solo, you never miss a round, you can take your time between them if you need it, you actually get to interact with the mechanics of the boss (healing pyromancers, paying attention to snow, toying with progress to eek out max points, etc.), and best of all you don't have to see people typing the dead 'why fletch' meme 90 times per round. I found it hard to get 99 when massing because I got burned out pretty fast, but solo keeps you on your toes and keeps you invested. And if you need a break, you don't have to rush to get back. One game is about long enough for your birdhouses to fill and two is about how long your herbs need to grow, so you can mix those in pretty seemlessly. It's much more chill and, if you miss the social aspect of massing, as long as you're on the same page you can pretty easily bring friends along to help. And getting crashed when soloing isn't even that bad [unlike for normal bosses], since they're usually going for the same thing as you so it's easy enough to work together.

Solo is about putting more effort for more rewards but if you solo it and not do as much you can to optimize points per hour, theres no real point and you are better off going world 9. 10-14hp accounts don't even need food if you know what you are doing after you reach the low % boss health, (200m fm btw, multiple chars with 99, didn't have to use food after it's setup, you heal 1 hp a min but get less than 1dmg average a min. Also why you should probably always fletch (if ironman), why relighting is not capped at 10% but rather u can go to even 5%, and get even less damage (u explain it yourself in the end, it will go extinguish a lot). Also, nothing about having a 2nd world ready so you can hop to that (because of how much downtime u have setting up and ending each game, you drastically lose out on xp/loot etc per hour, for this you use a 10hp 50fm acc with a regen bracelet and druidic ritual done, perhaps with some stams and cakes, very low effort alt to make and use. Also use a regen bracelet or hp cape if you have one of them on the main account you are soloing on. Unless you have to brb you never go to the safe zone, that's literally a waste of xp and loot. Also you can bank the boxes and open them later when your stats are higher, getting way better loot. Also if you have 3 bruma torches or 3 warm gloves in your posession/bank, you will get a magic seed instead if you land on those item rolls again. If you focus on keeping the wintertodt as low as you can, fletching during downtime always, (find the right rythm of when to dump your fletched logs/kindlings so you can go wc again if % drops under 5% even if your inv hasnt been used up on the fire yet) you will get substantially more construction xp per hour. Starting at 1 construction and 50firemaking, you can get up to 70 construction easely. (most people that solo get to like 40 orso, they are missing out on so many repairs) Last tip for non hardcore and non ultimate ironman: if you suidice with an inventory of food in the wintertodt before starting, you wont need to bring food in your inventory, which drastically increases your exp rates. Just pick up some food when u need it. Takes like no time to die and games necklace back to start. DISCLAIMER BEFORE PEOPLE SAYING DIDNT ASK: U watched a guide about solo wintertodt, so you are interested, don't have to bash me for pointing out some tips :))
Amazing tips especially the suicide one. After a couple tries I got it down for the most part but I'm sure there is still a lot of room for improvement. I've decided that multiple things on my account are pointing towards wintertodt, even though I already have 99: Need a spirit seed for a master clue, I want the pet, and could use some passive construction xp. Tried your guide but so far, the % of the wintertodt energy doesn't go up fast enough, so i can't keep 1 brazier up at all times and avoid ending the game. So if i can't help a pyromancer and my inventory is full of wood. I'm forced to fletch to not waste xp. Maybe this should have been mentioned in the video.
I successfully solo winterdaddy with nothing but a tinderbox, axe, knife, hammer, and 12 sharks. I make 6 rejuvenation potions at the start of the game, and that will usually last me until I have over 10k points.
Flam I understand that it's slower on solo, but how much? He says that w309 is 30% faster (=23% slower on solo) while he writes 30% slower on solo on the screen.

I Think to understand what you mean but you're mistaken, I think you mean that one of the values is 100% (let's say the solo xp method is 100%) and the other method is 30% faster making it 130% the rate of the solo method. what you probaly do next is taking 130% as a base for the non solo method and saying that 100% is 23%(actually 23.08%) less than 130% which is not wrong but this is not the way you should look at this calculation. its not 30% from 130% it is still 30% from 100%.

Because you can stack points and have a huge number of rolls by the end which doubles your chances of rare items. Saying that a lucky guy got 2 tomes and 2 pets in 7 crates at 309 so it does depend on your luck. The more points you stack, the more you loot you get and obviously it takes much longer so soloing right can leave you with A LOT more loot.
"The base drop rate for the phoenix is 1/5,000 per roll. Yes, as these are determined based on roll potential 500 points is 2 rolls 1000 is 3 rolls So more points = more rolls, and with 27 rolls per solo, you get more chances

its faster on w309 as the rounds go far faster if your aiming for xp so the round bonus happens far more often

Because you can stack points and have a huge number of rolls by the end which doubles your chances of rare items. Saying that a lucky guy got 2 tomes and 2 pets in 7 crates at 309 so it does depend on your luck. The more points you stack, the more you loot you get and obviously it takes much longer so soloing right can leave you with A LOT more loot.

So 0.2% with 4.5k, 3x that is points from a single solo run, so 0.6% per round of solo Wintertodt
I have no idea of hourly points when doing Wintertodt in 309, so can't compare, but video say 35-50 mins per round for 13.5k points, maybe test out a solo and see how quick you are then see hourly points on 309 to compare
No. The chance is the exact same. You just get more rolls

Never tried wintertodt, got back into rs and my brother kept telling me to do it. After watching one minute and 32 seconds of this guide, i can honestly say, i aint touching this steaming pile of uselessness.
