I have a spare, non-chip, key. With the spare in the ignition, and with the new uncut fob directly on the spare key, shouldn't I be able to program the new fob? I do not want to get the new fobs cut until I am sure they can be programmed. My car makes that chime but then the scanner says failed to program, and then it locks me out of the ecu for an hour, or maybe just requires starting the process over again. 2009 PT Cruiser. Thanks!

Good morning, can you tell me if the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has an original key so that I can add a key.
I tried to program one using xtool pad3, T-Ninja 1000, T-300, and vvdi key tool max with mini obd and in all of them it does not show errors only at the end it shows the number of keys and Programming failed.
This is the second time this has happened to me, same make, model and year.
On both occasions I have used a Chinese key bought by Amazon.
If programming didn’t worked few times, then I recommend to buy a key from a reputable supplier.
Try American key supply.

How did you have the key cut if all previous keys were lost?
Locksmith. Happened to me once.
They have blank keys and somehow figure out how to cut it. Magic i guess lol
There is a tool for that. Using the tool you can create a”template” by inserting it in the lock, finding all the pins and using that, you can cut a new key without one.
auto pro pad lite is about 500$ i pad 150$ ACE hardware for everything..all i had to do is paid 150$ and wait 15 minute..
So this is not for an average user :( you need that tablet which is around $1500 :(. Still thank you.
The website has no customer service, no contact us page, no phone number to call for support, nothing! I had an issue with my trial and an error on your website but couldn't contact anyone for help, couldn't find a number for tech support, couldn't email anyone, so I cancelled. Terrible service, it's just a list of videos, but with no support. What if your website has issues, where do people reach out to you with billing issues, questions, errors on your website, etc.?

They charge hundreds of dollars for their expertise, knowledge, experience, and having programmers and key machines and carrying thousands of dollars in stock for hundreds of car makes and models, which equals convenience for the customer. They'll be able to troubleshoot other potential issues, identify root causes of problems (worn ignitions, etc.) and they usually offer a guarantee on their keys and remotes. A couple hundred dollars is nothing for that peace of mind and having the job done right.
