- There are a lot of common foods that us Crohnies can't eat. It's actually pretty annoying, so here I have come up with some alternatives you might want to try out!

@Tiger360X Hmmm I have no idea! I don't drink it too much but if I do, its the starbucks kind in the bottle thats cold. I've had regular coffee and it'll bother me but this kind never has!
where I'm from we have something similar to the sparkling water it's called sparkling ice (it's a form of sparkling water I think) and I love it
My heart goes out to you.
I have GERD and it is hell. Thanl gosh pepcid works !!!
I cannot imagine ur struggles 🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️
They say shared struggle is half the burden
I cannot imagine
Updated version of this video please !
The thing about water is that unless it's spring water, it's usually treated. I know my tap water has a very metallic flavor to it and it's really gross. I've also had water that had more of a chlorine flavor to it. I don't care for gatorade all that much, Smart Water is my favorite! Tastes really good and I feel loads better with it. Lately I've been getting NUUN tablets, they're electrolyte tablets that dissolve in water and have a light flavor. There's all different kinds of flavors.
Great video! :) I love it! Very helpful! :)
Hi MaggieMo, thank you so much for all your AMAZINGLY helpful videos. My name is Mark and I live in Ireland and am due to undergo surgery very soon to have a Stoma/Ostomy done asap. I do not have chrons disease but am paralyzed and was wondering if you could direct me to someone else via CZcams who deals with living with a Stoma and is paralyzed? I’ve also just had to have a SupraPubic Catheter fitted which has been very beneficial as due to my paralysis I am now doubly inconntinent.
Due to also having Coeliac Disease along with being Lactose intolerant my diet was already very very restricted but having seen the presurgery team and Stoma nurse they have advised me that my diet will be even further restricted which has really made me really down as I’m sure you can relate to?
I know the team I’ll be under when I’m called in to have the surgery will include a dietician so hopefully they will be able to advise me on how to best deal with this issue.
The pre op information pack they gave me recently has said that the most I could lift post op is only the weight of a half full kettle!! Yet I have to lift my entire body weight, 74-75kgs, to simply transfer from my wheelchair to my couch, car, shower etc so how am I going to get around all this? I’m really worried and would really appreciate any advice you, as a nurse and a person with a Colostomy/ileostomy, if you don’t mind?
I really want to return to work as soon as I can and continue driving my car.
Any help, advice or links to people you think may be of some help would be very gratefully received.
Stay healthy and most importantly stay happy,
Loads of hugs from over here in Ireland,
xoxo,
MarkC
@screaminmeani I have no idea, I just know nurses kept telling me to drink gatoraid for the electrolytes haha
LOVE THAT YOU'RE A NURSE NOW!
@screaminmeani Search potato and alarm clock on youtube. A lot of kids use it as science fair experiments but... it actually works.
that's so funny! I am totally allergic to alot of fruits too! mainly oranges, lemons and limes!
When I was younger before I was diagnosed with Crohns I could not eat the delicious Frosted Mini Wheat cereal :( But now I can usually eat anything. I just recently got my self a colostomy uggggg not a good time in the hospital, it will be coming off soon says my surgeon.
Also WAWA is the best place ever haha. :)
You should also watch the movie Idocracy if you haven't seen it yet. Its hilarious, they have a drink called Brawndo and it has what plants crave electrolytes.
In regards to the ginger ale....I've had the same problem for most of my life. For me it's actually the ginger in it. My colitis actually made it worse, I know the feeling...blarg...
I prefer milk chocolate but it REALLY hurts my stomach.
I have pretty much been living off of Doritos, Salsa & bean dip, chicken noodle/broccoli soup. And very rarely scrambled eggs, tuna, chicken pattie, granola, and smarties, spree & sweetarts or any other candies of that type since my ostomy surgery 4 months ago. I am very overweight but have lost a ton of weight since my surgery...i felt pretty good til about a little over a month ago now I feel almost as bad as before the surgery :(
Funny :)
I can eat bacon and it doesn't bother me but if I eat sausage it gives me the heartburn like crazy
Please, I want a replacement for coffee! :(
I'm one of those water haters so I drink seltzer. I don't have IBD so I need to watch calories. Also I think anything peach-flavored is gross. Peaches are delicious, but whoever invented peach flavoring should not be in a food career.
Ugh
GERD and an iliostomy.
How do you bear eating sister
🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️🙇♀️
um potassium is an electrolyte
electrolytes are basically a collective name for salts which are dissolved in water
