Previous to becoming speaker, he voted no on aid to Ukraine, and then waited while Ukrainians paid with their lives, because the former president told him to. I’m still very glad it got done and hope that he will continue to work in a bipartisan way to make some other progress. Too bad repubs voted down, for example, the toughest legislation on the brdr in modern history because the former president told them not to. Check it out. Japan has it's own issues with Russia.
Stalin seized a group of islands in the Northern waters of Japanese territory in the closing days of WWII.
Japan has been trying diplomatically to secure their return from Putin with no success.
The Soviets and Japanese Armies did clash in the Mongolian region of China early in the WWII era but had ceased hostilities. Then Stalin jumped on the victory over Japan bandwagon as an Allied power and steadfastly refused to leave.
Japan sees a Russian defeat in Ukraine as possibly serving their interests against Russia.

Discovered you can fly a light aircraft remotely? People have been doing such things for decades. In fact, the British were doing this as early as 1941. These were target drones. The switch from target drones to offensive weapons is actually quite trivial.
So, this is not something new the Ukrainians are doing. They are having to innovate because of restrictions on using western supplied equipment in attacking Russian territory. In addition, the use of drones as one way delivery systems is not something the US typically has done. The US has provided some "suicide" drones, but these are typically short range. The US would typically use something like a cruise missile. These are much harder to defend against, since they do not rely on a data link to an operator. On the other hand, it seems like this is not an issue against Russia.
