Came across this series as a kid. I was so impressed by it i would even draw the characters when I wasn’t playing. It was so strange tho because nobody I met had ever heard of it. Felt so surreal.
Man, haven't played this in nearly 15 or 20 years. It was a great game, at least with all the expansions and such. Such a shame the sequel was terrible. Oh, and you are right, the art was some of the best of any game I've ever played. I remember being mesmerized by the gothic (I think it was eastern European) style art. I can't really describe the art to do it justice to be honest. The bad guys look terrifying and the good guys look incredible. Honestly, if you've never played this game, I'd almost recommend it just for the art alone.
The fonts are really hard to read. Especially when they are on top of textured backgrounds like at 10:25. This game needs an HD remaster - just blow everything up to 1080p at least and upscale everything and use modern fonts.

I paid for art and got a great game :). Seriously though it's a brilliant gem. I also loved Sacred Lands.
