don't understand why Dave seems so utterly unprepared to defend his own positions.
+OnionsAndPaste I know... Sargon can be the same way sometimes....
+OnionsAndPaste You also have to remember that Rubin (and Sargon) are going for interviews, not debates. As we've seen in the Don Lemon interview, it's more about being hospitable to the guest and getting the guest to express his/herself.
+OnionsAndPaste
It's not a debate, it's an interview. You change it to a debate show, you're gonna completely lose half of your potential guests because not everyone's comfortable with confrontation like that.
+OnionsAndPaste I think you miss the point of these interviews. It is about the guess not Rubin.
+OnionsAndPaste totally agree. It doesn't need to be a super confrontational debate for Dave to at least push back a bit or play devil's advocate. Larry Elder already has his own show, he doesn't need a platform to just put his arguments out there without any discussion. Dave says he wants to have a conversation, but that means he's going to have to at least start discussing issues, and not just letting people put out talking points.
I love Dave Rubin. I may disagree with him on alot of things. But because he is so willing to listen to the other side, I'm a proud subscriber.
Same.
me too.
Same here
@Michael Manoni Right on man, that attitude needs its own movement behind it.
100% ---- excellent interview and holy crap Larry has some pretty stark statistics in his holster but it's refreshing for some reason.... go on him!!! Larry for President.
Ever since Neo met Morpheus, he's never been the same.
^^^^^Most underrated post
Lmfao
lol
I came to watch Dave's awakening.
It's wonderful hearing a black man saying the truth on Black Lives Matter.
+batmannotahero * It's wonderful to hear anyone speaking the truth about black lives matter.
-> yw ;)
snowman72891 "the truth" looool
***** - Yeah, I hate racist people too. And I hate racist groups like the KKK, White Nationalist, Aryan Brotherhood, Skinheads & GoPro. BLM was just a hashtag # to bring awareness to unarmed blacks being killed by police..."blacklivesmattertoo" - you're very ignorant to assume it's some kind of hate group. Don't make yourself sound like another Dylann Roof. (P.S. - I'm black and has never committed a crime in my life)
it's like watching Shoe0nHead (Woman) go against feminism.
Too bad he's too chicken to speak the truth on Blues Lives Matter and white supremacy.
*THIS MAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE 1ST BLACK PRESIDENT, NOT OBAMA!*
Alex Spadge
I was thinking the exact same thing!!!!
He would have had my vote. There will be other upcoming millennial black conservatarians. Before Elder there was Thomas Sowell. Antonia Okafer is young and pretty bright.
hell ya!
Alex Spadge Yes. Still not too late.....Obama is not a black man....his mom is white.
just for the sake of a little thought experiment... If the Reps would nominate Shapiro and Elder, the primaries would be a top-notch thriller.
I think Rubin conducted himself very well for a man having his ass handed to him. Not anything like the crybaby snowflakes we see everywhere in 2020
So agree. Thanks for making the point.
I believe this is the moment Dave really started to veer right.
Nobody was handing ass to anyone. They were open to opinion and ideation, and Dave Rubin was willing to hear some points and think about them, as well as Larry Elder. That is how the conversation moved forward.
This interview was when Dave got converted. He did not get his ass handed to him. He found his lost common sense. Hopefully Larry can repeat the feat state wide on California.
@@RoyalFizzbin no need to believe it, dave admited himself. Larry gave him back his common sense.
And he's running for CA Gov. He has my vote.
Mine too
He have my vote as well.
Larry probably got enough votes to win that election. His opponent just received more ballots.
Did Larry Elder just turn me into a black conservative ?
Larry seems quite woke
Depends, are you black?
I've been a conservative since I was 16. I've been black since birth.
*Gotcha, bitch!*
I was already conservative, but watching this made me black
1 like = 1 thug life
I wish 95% of Blacks were like this instead of 95% Democrat lol. He killed this interview!
Wouldn't be a problem if Republicans actually gave black people a reason to vote for them.
Wilbur Jenkins Cognitive dissonance and group think makes that very hard. Why would a black person become Republican if he knows he would be outcasted by his own people and likely his family?
+CriminalGameplay Or maybe it's beacuse the Republican party is a dying dinosaur with views from the 16th century.
CriminalGameplay It was quite easy for blacks to vote for Republican when Republicans were in favor of civil rights. I think if you ask yourself why are blacks ostracized for voting republican you will find some pretty valid answers. Not to mention; women, gays, or any other ethnic minority.
It's not cognitive dissonance, it wasn't a coincidence Republicans lost the North and the Black vote at the same time, who both started voting Democratic. The black vote has always aligned with who the North votes for, because the North generally picks the more liberal candidate.
Here is a big reason why black people don't for Republicans.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy
Wilbur Jenkins civil rights? Democrats unanimously voted against 13,14,15 amendments. Democrats got black votes because they use gov welfare to buy their votes and keep them in the inner cities ghettos.
I love that Dave today admits that this exchange of information was his turning point. He was given the facts and instead of continuing to find excuses like today's liberals do...he took the facts, researched, thoughtfully considered the information and ended up becoming conservative because the facts played out and he realized his assumptions were wrong. I love this conversation. It's a jewel of history.
Love when he "came out" as "officially' conservative on Candace Owens show.
Lol I came here to watch the same thing😂😂
Conservative is not exactly the position he holds. There are differences between conservatives and classical liberals and libertarians. However, when the USA is being threatened by marxists; we all quickly agree on the mutual threat and unify.
I've just rewatched this episode and saw your comment. This episode should be shown to all young adults as an example of adults having a difficult yet important conversation about life in the western world.
I would argue that in appropriate Hi-jacking of the term Liberal and pinning it to the Democratic Party did nothing but a disservice to the English language. You can, in-fact be both a Liberal and a fiscal conservative...that is what our founding fathers were when compared to their contemporaries. It was not until Jimmy Cater that the term Liberal was capitalized as a political label instead of what it truly is, the position that governmental role in personal freedoms should be absolutely minimal and that the people give the government rights not the other way around.
Larry is now running for governor to recall Newsom! Spread the word and vote for him!
And LTC West is running in Texas. A seed change is in the works. Fingers crossed 🤞
I'm excited.
Not only "spread the word" and "vote for him", but also please consider doing what really counts. Please consider donating $25 (or more) to Larry's campaign. I live in Maryland, for God's sake, I don't make a ton of money, and I chipped-in $25 toward Larry Elder's campaign. You can, too!
I'm only in high school, but I already know that I don't want socialism controlling the place that I live, Newsom needs to leave and JJ Abrams and the other directors and ultra rich need to stop donating to him, for them it's basically communism is good for me and I don't care about thee
@Luis Morais it’s not about Trump, we’re willing to have a moderate we just don’t want such a radical who abuses his power
I'm a black American, raised in a 2 parent household, I didn't always live in the nicest neighborhoods but we still did well, I graduated from college to become an educator and business owner. Honestly I haven't experienced much institutional racism. Consequently I don't see myself as a victim, but rather a champion in training. I believe that racism exists but is NOT the determining factor in my success or failure. By setting aside the victim mentality I've been able to pursue life to the fullest. Much of what Larry Elder says is true in regard to race in America. Black Americans who work hard and deny handouts and other forms of victim appeasement have found the path to true wealth. But there problem is that other blacks, especially the ones who blame everything on race, reject guys like me - I'm too "boujee". And many white American liberals are simply confused and frustrated by my existence. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this interview!
I love your term "champion in training." That is an awesome way to think about oneself.
NathanSynth - it must be hard to have people judging you unfairly like that but all who have stood strong for what’s right as the “for real” change agents in society have had a tough row to hoe. I admire you, Nathan!
How many times have you been called an Uncle Tom
Thank you. People like you will end racism, not legislation
Thanks for sharing your story Nathan.
Always been a big fan of Larry's.
As a 57-year-old slightly overweight but hard-working white guy I often think how much better the world would be if we had more Larry Elders and Thomas Sowels the world and happily add you to that list.
This interview will never get old. Elder just throwing out red pills like candy.
It's because he's using the Socratic method: asking questions to stimulate critical thinking. Dave has cited how he's changed a lot of his positions and his beliefs specifically because of this conversation he had with Larry Elder. Elder put him on the spot: he asked Rubin "what's your evidence?" When Rubin said he thinks there is some systemic racism in this country, Elder immediately asked him what his evidence was for that, and please be specific. Rubin trotted out what was doubtless a belief he had acquired from the left (an simply never examined critically), that cops are more likely to target black suspects because of racism. Elder shot that down in flames with specific data to show how that belief was actually not only unsupported by any evidence, what evidence there was showed the OPPOSITE was likely true. Elder didn't let up either. He said, so much for that assertion, what else have you got? And Rubin couldn't come up with anything. Notice how quickly he backed off saying there was systemic racism, and moved to general racism among people in society.
This is why Elder is effective: he uses the Socratic method, which forces his opponent to think critically and test his assumptions and beliefs against facts. When they can't do it, if they are honest, then like Rubin they begin to reevaluate their assumptions and beliefs and perhaps revise them. When they aren't intellectually honest -- like so many on the left -- they abandon any attempt at rational debate with someone like Elder and move to labeling, personal attacks, and outright character assassination.
If you look behind Elder you'll see a big red bottle. Think he was using it in his idea fire hose. Lol.
Arrest that man for practicing medicine without a license!
Neph awesome comment ❤️
“Red pills like candy lol”
My Lord. This guy perfectly encapsulates how I have been feeling for YEARS! As a black man...I couldn't articulate it to other blacks. But I'm unapologetic in my stance of not drinking the kool aid that we are held down. I grew up in the foster care system. I'm supposed to be a damn statistic. I have married with two children. Bought and sold a house, buying a second. Have my dream car. Have 10s of thousands of dollars saved and invested. You tell me where the racism is? Stop wallowing around and go and get your piece of the pie! Because the pie isn't gonna come fall in your lap. Unless you're an attractive female. But that's a different story. Point is, black people need to wake up and realize we are destroying ourselves by for one, not remaining together as a family, and two voting for politicians who haven't helped us in decades.
It's said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
I'd argue that somewhere in that definition if you look hard and long enough is "the political ideals of black people"
Hey man I really dug your comment. White guy from Britain. I’m out there grinding too mate, working hard for kids wife and child (she’s Asian, not that our skin colour matters)
I’m starting to feel that guys like you and I really are on the same team and I’m tired of all this division.
Work hard, respect the family. Build a better world with the sweat off our backs. Kudos to your success my friend and I wish you and your family well.
@@RaferJeffersonIII thank you brother. I wish you success as well. People forget that hard work is the recipe because we've seen too often these days people make it to the top off seemingly a weekend of luck or a silly CZcams channel. But people have no idea about the journey to get to those places. We are on the same team. All of us. To think we still babble about skin color. It's laughable. Good luck out there.
@@MrDionstarrr What happened to MLK - judge a man by his character?
That’s what I’ve always done and I would never insult you, or any other black person by giving you a free pass or sympathy.
I think it’s about time we started respecting black folks and minorities enough to see them as equals. When liberals see you as victims it makes me mad, as I am a proud man and I would hate anyone seeing me like that.
So the greatest respect you can give any black man, is to view him as your equal and not as someone you need to give charity to.
In fact, as you say, STOP TALKING ABOUT RACE, it’s just going to put barriers up.
All the best.
31 year old black lesbian and completely agree. Came from poverty worked my way out. And I truly believe the reason is because I let go of some beliefs I had. That “I couldn’t make it because I am black”. “It will be harder for me”. “They don’t want us to win.” All of those things are so damaging to the confidence of a young child stepping into the wild in hopes to create a life of quality and success. It’s so hard to have this conversation with other black people and I hate it. It makes me cringe when I see the victim card being played because I grew up thinking the same thing and now see that it’s BS. It’s sad honestly that so many other black people would rather shame you than to consider that they in fact are playing victim and blame game vs figuring a way out.
@@freethinker3083 I'm glad you are a successful sister. One who "made it out". Not made it out the hood, but made it out the MENTALITY. I feel as of the chains on black Americans have been placed on us by black Americans. We are so eager to fit in with "our people" and don't want to be ostracized, but how many of "our people" really want us to climb to the top? We always talk about it. But it's just that. But when one of us finally does it, why do we get the side eye? The "you changed". The assumption that you're a bootlicker or you think you're white now. Success is not white. Dressing like an adult is not white. Speaking proper is not white. Having nice things, and I don't mean a Gucci belt or Jordans, is not white. But who will criticize you and make you feel bad for doing those things? Damn sure ain't the "white man". And I feel so ashamed to be black sometimes, because I don't want anyone to look at me and think that I am just another person crying BLM and where's my reparations. I don't feel ashamed because of an "I'm less than", I feel ashamed because I am embarrassed by my counterparts and their lack of ability to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and this culture of self hurt.

Thank you, I didn't have time to watch the entire interview, just Rubin's red pill moment, when he was trying to use "the white cop thing" to explain systemic racism at 24:00
I literally opened the comment section searching for exactly what you’ve done. Thank you sir.
Thank you for this, been following Dave only about a year now, this was very kind of you to help us newbies❣️‼️
This black man speaks a lot of sense, I'll have him as my one black friend.
+Ry P Tyler Preston is my only black friend so he's my best black friend.
+Ry P Nah, I can't, already have one... my obf is a nice fellow; I don't want to ditch him.

Amazing how much healthier and more alive Dave looks after being red pilled. I'm looking back at this and wow, huge difference.
I was just thinking that
The irony is Larry looks the same
Literally my first thought watching this !
Kudos to Dave for not cutting out the portion where Larry left him stumbling, great interview.
It's June 1st 2020 today. And this interview is more relevant today than ever
Yeppers - I've sent this on to many others today. I end up coming back to this video about once every six months and sending it on.
yes!!!
It’s June 5, 2020, and it’s even more relevant.
Im 16 min In.. so far i am reluctant to believe that with the idea of enough credible sources you can kill countless amount of people and still get the WMD wrong. If you gave him 15 months, and are highly intelligent for an organization with 16 credible sources, then you aslo must run the possibility he would get rid of them in those 15 months, thus making your next or just as important investigation which is who would he give it to , all this before invading a whole ass country.. feel free to clap back at me , no hard feelings if you do so
@@BarbellThor It's June7th, 2020, and it's still relevant. 🙂In fact, I believe this message is timeless. Its core idea at around 12:50 that principled people change their values based not on who's in power but based on data is one of the most important life lessons we should all be aware of. ❤️
The only cringe worthy part of this episode was around the 25:00 mark when Larry asked Dave to state just ONE racist thing that has happened recently and he couldn't. I almost felt bad for Dave because he seems like a good guy, but these kinds of things need to happen in order for open minded people like him to wake up.
It's sad and unfortunate that even people that are obviously very smart like Dave, and open minded, need such incredible pushes to come to even just basic logical conclusions about the world.
WHY is the world like this?!? Well I know the answer, but it isn't something that is allowed on CZcams anymore.
Euph that's my absolute favorite part of this interview hahahaha
So you like Dave have no examples of Racism, just that you think the system or the man is keeping you down. Got it. Hey I got news for you, this system enslaves everyone of lower class, race has nothing to do with it.
***** Name me one black person in 2016 doing field work for 12 hours a day everyday with no pay (you can't), name me one law in 2016 that states preferential mistreatment of blacks (you can't), FBI/CIA crack myth is bullshit written by a fringe reporter by the name of Gary Webb and refuted several times by the NYT, Washington Post, and LA Times, which are all left-leaning papers by the way, and.... welfare is.. racist??? Welfare is a fucking bad idea yes, but it's racist?? How the fuck is welfare racist?
Besides, It's pseudo-intellectual, not sudo intellectual. It speaks a lot about your own intelligence.
I can give plenty of examples of racism towards whites in 2016, why is it that nobody from the left can do the same for blacks? The only things they seem to be capable of is creating, fabricating, and out right lying to further their goals of dividing and conquering the population. Just look at the recent Okeefe videos as a perfect example. Even with the likes of Soros, and the MSM/Establishment at their disposal, the DNC was unable to provoke racism from the right. Of course there will always be a few crazies from every group, but the truth is what it is. White people are extremely tolerant and the slave trade is not what you were taught it was.
If you want to really know who used and abused slaves(especially Africans) look up the Arab slave trade...and look at the numbers of Africans enslaved in South America.
Blacks have never been treated better than they have been in the US. Your whole paradigm is a lie. Sure they could be treated better, but so could EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD! Regardless of color/class.
Blacks are simply being used as pawns in a game they will never understand.
Well unfortunately for the likes of people like you, regardless of your race/class, the regressive left is awaking the sleeping beast of the world. If you think Germany during WWII was bad, just wait till you see what happens during the next decade.
It took a lot of humility for Dave to listen and acknowledge the truth when he heard it. We need more people like this. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love Larry Elder!
My first time seeing him, and WOW. This guy knows exactly what he believes and just goes for it. The only times he starts "ummm"ing and "uhhh"ing is when he's trying to recall a specific date/bill/etc. When he's talking about his opinions, he's clear and concise in his delivery, and quick as well. Makes most of our politicians giving speeches look bad.
I'll second that... Dave had Larry on again last week and Larry speaks a lot of sense most of the times I've heard him - Especially that whole father thing. Denzel Washington has similar views.
The real difference here compared to 2021 is Dave. Even during the course of the interview, he was using fewer "I think"s and scripted lefty pre-suppositions. The start of the awakening.
The main reason why I like Dave Rubin is because he is such a agreeable and principled person. He might lean left on a few issues, but I know his heart is in the right place.
brilliant pun :)
I'm a pretty staunch Liberal but that was a good pun. Take this like, you deserve it. Lol
GameLogix to be fair Dave admitted that this interview kinda had the most impact on him overall. And he also said that it wasn't his best time on camera
GameLogix- What I think Dave should have said, because I think it's what he senses, as do I, is that Racism remains a powerful part of our National Psyche. This is true irrespective of your skin color.
But the antidote to that is more honest discussions like the one they were able to have. One that isn't, as Mr. Elder pointed out, generally available on the left.
Adrian Gecko haha *'right'* place, did you intend that double entendre?
I'm offically convinced. I think I am officially a black conservative.
Me too.
Elana Wills - and anyone else who feels this way, you have my vote should you run for office. :)
Happy
So happy Dave woke up and left the Liberal Democrats.
Larry is such a smart guy. Intelligent and communicates with great clarity and weight. Thoroughly enjoy listening to his views.
As a socialist, this video showed me how misinformed and ignorant I was.
I've been proven wrong on so many of my long-held views this year alone. It's a matter of pride for me; I'm proud that I'm receptive to information, and I'm proud to base my views on strong arguments and good information rather than convenience or aesthetic preference.
it's hard to take you seriously given your name
arkie87 I did not choose my name (Muhammad). However, I would like to keep it just to annoy those islamists when they hear me Despising the paedophile bloodthirsty man they idolise.
Sorry, i was replying to Hentai, not you. Hentai is a bit more ridiculous a name than Muhammad.
watch the Change my Mind - Socialism is Evil. That will change it even more.
Phenomenal interview, why is this Larry Elder not more popular? He should be on television every evening
Van Alt he's on Fox News occasionally and has a nationally syndicated radio show. But both of these things are not popular in general, especially among young people
Larry is the shit, Ive been following him for a few years now. Its our job to spread the word about ELDER!
Unfortunately Larry took a business strategy which by definition makes him less popular. Instead of focusing on advertisement like Crowder or on Patreon like most of you internet personalities, Larry chose to create his content behind a pay wall, which doesn't allow him to have any viral videos or popularity outside of conservative circles.
because a black conservative goes against the leftist bullshit narrative that all black people are helpless victims
The day Dave became a MAN. Thank you Larry! 😁
Soooooo happy he's running for Governor in CA!! He's got my vote!
I came to watch Dave’s red pill moment. Was not disappointed 😊
Me too. It was glorious.
"I've never been to Africa, why am I African-American?" So true. I'm sick of these hyphenations as well. If you are born in America, no matter your race or ethnicity, you are American.
I am a common sense AMERICAN,no other labels PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Danial that is logical thinking, I believe you are correct. you are an American.
I am an immigrant from Latin America, became a US citizen and as a result of that I am an American. I started a nonprofit in my native country, lived there with my family for four years and visit 1-2 per year. My kids speak Spanish, we eat the food and listen to the music. Being an American, does not take away from staying in touch with my roots and a hyphen doesn’t get me closer to my roots.
@Angel rose why? What do you gain from this? What does the history of people you never knew lead to? If you had been adopted and knew nothing about your ancestor's history would your life be different?
Been saying the same thing for years....
This isn't an interview. File this under Educational Material
IF only...sigh
Elder said Tamir Rice was twirling a gun and didn't follow the cops ' orders. Tamir Rice was a 12 year old kid who was playing with a toy gun who was shot and killed by two cops within two seconds of them confronting him. Michael Brown had NOT committed a crime before he was shot and killed. Elder said poorer people have easier access to loans. This guy is a complete jackass.
The leftist would never allow our kids to see this
Lol you are right on about that! Elder is just on a roll... and Rubin’s head is spinning. 😂😂
spinningorb no, he’s not a jack ass. You just don’t like him because he’s telling the truth.
ITS October 2021 . And this still is the more relevant video of Dave Rubin and RON PAUL IT GREAT SPECIALLY ON THE CORONA VIRUS!!!!
Man! Larry Elder and Thomas Sowell are literally walking textbooks. I hope to be as wise as them one day. I hope more Americans become more aligned with facts and logic and break away from this hyper emotional state we live in today.
This was such a Red Pill moment for Dave Rubin and me...
SP Me, too. Meeeeee too!👍🏾
SP: It takes a mature man to admit that publicly. Have you lost many friends/or hopefully found additional ones. It's important we don't end up isolated w/only like-minded individuals. Be well.
This is where he woke up
Welcome sir!
Welcome!
Larry Elder has a magnificent memory, astonishing intelligence, and the ability to make points clearly, and back them up with fact. Dave Rubin is a great listener, a real sweetheart.
Hahahahahahha.
This is the best conversation I have seen in my entire life. I need these two to get together again today to discuss what the heck is happening in this woke world and how to fix it.
They have recently talked…I can’t remember exactly the date but I watched it.
I don't think Rubin slept that night after this interview LOL. Well done Larry and glad to see Rubin has finally seen the light.
Larry is a selfish jerk... for not running for office a long time ago. He is someone I respect greatly.
I think Larry doesn't want to have to put up with the constant BS of politics.
If he stills lives in CA, he'd never win any election.
oldSchoolE
Yep. Not in that single party shit hole.
He's doing the work. Our job is to help spread the outreach of his message.
I see what you did there. 😊
It boggles my mind that Larry Elder is 66 years old. He doesn’t look older than 40.
Moisturize my dudes
That's because conservatives are healthier than liberals. Blacks die faster thN whites in part because liberals are all for a lack of being healthy. Body positivity is one sign of this.
black dont crack
thats that good black blood lol
I was on his show briefly a couple of months ago, and he looks even better in person. His comment: black don't crack.
Larry is the man.
Seriously!
You're goddamn right.

Tommy is boarder line a con man, he is shock jock and extremely bias against black "n" word woman
Rubin was SHOOK in this interview. Facts can do that to a person. Elder is a BOSS.
MIFNP 👋👋👋
He didn’t argue the right points... the most blatant form of systemic racism in this country is MASS INCARCERATION which feeds directly into what Elder said was the main issue in America, the nuclear family.
He’s also said that black people don’t face injustice when it comes to getting hired, there is RESEARCH proving if your name is “ethnic sounding” you are less likely to get hired
@@Prettybrownngurl sources?
Facts can do that. Also, they don't care about your feelings.
Larry Elder, a successful black conservative uses facts & common sense?! And put it in a book and doesn’t scream that he’s a victim of racism. What a breath of fresh air. Why can’t we have more like Elder.
we do have more. maybe u r not looking in the right places. today, 2023, the country we love is on the precipice of commie/marxism. the country, thanx to the left, is ripped apart. they do not want harmany, they do not want peace, they want control. There r many conservative commentators and SOME conservative reporters. things have changed so radically, when this video was made, the horrors we r witnessing now were not in anyone's mind. i think 1984 is small potatoes, as compared w/t state of America presently. i'll give ya one hint-biden is president. not elect, select. he as the capo of the biden crime family, and the only godfather i have ever heard about being in the place where normally a commander-in-chief resides.
Then why did conservative Radio Stations fire him?
"According to my notes here you are...black"
Lost it there lmao
I love how Rubin is not afraid to say that his opinion is constantly changing that’s really refreshing to hear from a political commentator
The difference between rubin and the other clowns that are calling themselves commentators is that he is mostly busy listening while they are mostly busy commentating. Not listening, not checking facts, only in love with their own voices.
Rubin got hammered but have stated that this interview was where he learned the most and he had Elder back on. Respect!
It's good to be humble and always open to learn.
Amen! That is why it is a tragedy that the Leftist mob will use something a person said 30 years ago as a weapon like the person was the same exact person today as then! It is ridiculous!
But... but... but... if you change your opinion, how am I supposed to know at a glance, so I can pigeonhole you?
Since I don’t believe in your validity as a sovereign individual with agency, only as an avatar for your race, gender, sexuality, and neurological predisposition... I need your “opinion” to match the “intersection” that you represent.
I mean, the science is quite clear. If you are a white, straight neurotypical man, then your opinion will be X. And this is obvious to anybody just by looking at you. Of course it doesn’t matter what you say or do. It’s the intersection of your various ident...
Ok, I can’t finish it, even as just an exercise. It hurts.
I’ve heard Rubin mention his redpill moment several times and i’m finally watching it. 👏🏻
Me too, I was looking for it and found it
There's something quite poignant about seeing someone's red-pilling in REAL TIME. And we're all the more better for it now that Elder's influence has only increased (with his new documentary!!) and Rubin being a full-fledged conservative by now
Yeah, Larry Elder is just a punch to the face, no BS BOSS.
But, edit:. Major props to Dave Rubin for being man enough to reassess his thinking. If only most leftists were as capable... but that requires humility and intelligence.
Larry Elder is a Nutcracker and many leftists are nuts
Watching cognitive dissonance crack is delicious. It’s like that Jordan Peterson “gotcha” moment on THE Channel 4 interview. Some of the best you tube videos are couples watching that interview.
Larry Elder is the best. I learn more from listening to him for an hour than I ever do from the News.
I also applaud Dave for being open minded and didn't just push back for the sake of it
July 23, 2021. Looking back 5 yrs because LARRY ELDER FOR GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA. Larry's views are still solid! (Hopefully his opinion of Rand Paul have warmed a bit)
How prophetic was Larry's statement that the conversation would move Rubin to the center. THAT is amazing.
In a segment with reporter John Stossel, Rubin cited *_this_* interview with Larry Elder as the catalyst for his shift towards the center/right. That's why I came to watch it for the first time right now.
@@John-X same with me it shows that there is hope for all.
OMG. YES.
The interesting thing is that I believe Dave is one of the more free thinking among the left at this time. His opening monologue, I don't think he even realized how normal the left made it to bash conservatives. "Just because they don't agree with abortion, doesn't mean they hate all women". This seems harmless if you watch CNN regularly. But the alternative statement would literally be, "just because liberals agree with abortion, doesn't mean they want to kill all babies". That sounds ridiculously harsh and right wing nutjob-ish. But the proper neutral stance statement would have been, just because conservatives don't agree with abortion, doesn't mean they don't support individual freedoms. I'm impressed by how powerful a force Dave has become for conservatives. You can include him in a ridiculously small group of people that are truly fighting to make this country greater within the realm of his talents and reach. He fought for what he believed in as a liberal and helped people there, heard a person (Larry Elder) shock him with facts and ideas that he couldn't readily dispute. He dove back into his research, and came out fighting just as hard, if not harder, for the opposing side. But he isn't a traitor or a flip-flopper for financial gain, he's a patriot that has always been doing the right thing with the information he currently has. He has no problem calling out dangerous arguments from either side. He's a person I admire, and wish I had that kind of talent for listening and carefully responding respectfully while sticking to what I believe. He makes it look easy, and we all know it's not
Dave Rubin got SCHOOL by Larry Elder
Archival footage of Dave Rubin swallowing a red pill
it was more of a suppository
Stalin was Lenins Hoe I know :)
Five year after now Rubin is a conservative.
@Ethan Thomas he was on Candace Owens show a couple of months ago and said he's now conservative.
@@caiterlandson7473 It's because defending classically liberal values like free speech is now a conservative position. It's certainly not defended by anyone on the left, except possibly Bill Maher.
Damn. My heart goes out to you Larry. Idk how you've been able to handle all the racism towards you from the left and keep doing what you do. Its beyond impressive.
I’m sure right wingers have never been racist to him.
We handle it with facts. And I get a thrill when it pisses a social liberal off that I know facts, LOL.
Larry hates Blacks, that's why a lot Conservative Republic Radio Stations fired him!
"There's nothing you can tell me that I haven't heard, but I can probably say some things your audience hasn't heard."
100% correct. I shifted a little bit to the right after this interview. This guy is a weapon.
Uh oh, you've started down the rabbit hole from which there is no return. The good news is you will not want to return. Welcome! Most people that think they're liberals are actually conservatives, they must don't know anything about politics.

This is how 2 people who disagree should discuss things.
I agree but disagree that Dave disagrees. I love Dave but he is just scared to say the things he really feels. That’s why he still considers himself a liberal
Nyar no I agree that some of his views were changed by this interview but he is still scared to speak truth on controversial subjects. I love Dave but sometimes he frustrates me when he shys away from these type of subjects.
oliver closehoff he was on fox last week and called himself a liberal and I k ow the left doesn’t like him. That has nothing to do with my point though.
oliver closehoff oh shit! I’ll have to check it out. But still not the point I was making in the last few comments
It's cute that you think they disagree. They align politically almost 100%. Rubin calls himself a liberal but that's wordplay.
It's amazing how relevant this interview is today. Larry Elder is absolutely fascinating.
Larry Elder for Governor!!!
well that aint gonna happen. the racist state of Cali just took his spot from him. said he didnt give out all his tax info after forking over 250 pages of his taxes.
@@J.Huff76 he just won in court and will be on the ballot
omg holy crap, actual good news in 2021. mark this day on your calendar friend
Man watching these guys like Ben Shapiro, Larry Elders etc is so interesting. I could be wrong of course but it just feels like they're cutting through the bullshit. No accusations of bigotry, character besmirchment, personal attacks etc. So much better than just listening to w.e media outlet is "reporting".
A black republican president! That sounds really good!
Jakov Fisel I would be on board with Larry Elder SO DAMN much!! Love his analytical process. It uses actual FACTS unlike the hard left who pretends they don’t either matter or exist!
I'd defenetly vote for him
He is wonderful all backed up by facts too
and that is there worst fear, they would do anything for that not to happen
David Anewman bit if he were to run, he could run as republican because he knows there is no way of winning as libertarian party in today’s “2 party” system
Hopefully Larry Elder will win in California and start the healing process so desperately needed.
Larry for President.
This is still relevant today, probably more so. Anyone else back after the horrific George Floyd incident? Terrible tragedy. So interesting listening to Larry Elder, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams etc.
Yep, this is gold. I'm going to need all the information before I go back to college in the fall. I'll get lit up if I can't articulate these ideas well enough.
Alex Ray perfect way of identifying the problem. It took me years of practice and reading to be able to articulate my ideas and research in a way that captured the essence of what I was trying to say. I work in a University (U.K) and it is a terribly hostile place towards people who think “differently” (with common sense) so being able to defend your viewpoint with empirical research is vital. I wish you all the best at college!
Totally here because of the George Floyd incident. It's so difficult to try and engage people in intelligent conversation about all this.
@@alexkay8837Thank you!
Yep. Looking for a lifeboat of common sense in flood of misplaced outrage and virtue signalling.
I like how Dave actually lets his guests talk and doesn't just interrupt them the whole time
It's actually really messed up that this is even a valid statement! This should be the NORM! It is just common civility and basic etiquette; and a basic requirement of actual, constructive dialog!
Im proud to be living in the same country, as Mr. Elder. He's an American hero in my book.
Congrats for Larry getting put back on the ballot.
SOOOOOO refreshing to see a liberal who wants to sit down and talk the facts. Thank you Dave Rubin!
he's still quite biased and doesn't have arguments for his stances.
ISN'T that's HOW the UNITED STATES SHOULD BE!!
Indeed it is, I tend to keep as far away from liberal and left media outlets as best I can because too many won't listen to facts. The Rubin Report is a good one though, and I keep watching more xD.
If all those on the left were like Dave Rubin our country would not be so horribly politically polarized.
Robert Johnston I agree. It’s nice to have a conversation instead of name calling and screaming.
I'm a little late to this party, but Larry Elder is now one of my favorite public figures. I am also a "classic liberal," but just about everything he said makes perfect sense, and the facts he offered up checked out. I really hope, in researching him further, he doesn't end up being way out there on issues not addressed here, because he really seems like an honest, and logical guy. Keep up the AMAZING work you do, Dave Rubin. Let's keep regressing the regressives!
Same. He really knocked it out of the park and he's got me wondering if I'm really left leaning centrist or if I'm just moving right day by day. Either way I'm fleshing out and maturing my politics and it's awesome to have an honest non manipulative host to make the process enjoyable rather than like pulling teeth with opinionated blowhard assholes like Cenk. Night and day difference.
Yeah Larry Elder is a good guy, and puts out really good argument. I lean right but Dave Rubin doesn't seem to be pushing a narrative. That is exactly how you get people to listen ideas. People pushing talking points, and ideology over reason is just horrendous.
I was checking out the data two. I found that blacks are 2.5x as likely to be killed by white police officers as whites. Did you find anything different? Looking forward to hearing from you www.snopes.com/do-police-kill-more-whites-than-black-people/

Larry for Governor!
This interview is the single most coherent and cohesive case for the conservative political stance I've ever seen.
It is brilliant dismantling of liberal ideology.
Something I have been thinking recently is it seems when I listen to black conservatives, they lay out the case better than anyone. Its detailed and understandable.
@@jondeberg2060 to be fair, conservatism is also a political ideology.
Same pro american excepcionalism
Watch Ben Shapiro.
When I was a child, my dad gave me identical advice as Mr. Elder's dad did about how to behave when pulled over by police. I'm a white woman.
Same for me. Respect the police. They have a reason for pulling you over. If you disagree, get their badge number
Yep. I’ve heard some black people say things like “your parents didn’t have to sit you down and tell you that you have to do everything a police officer tells you to do or you’ll die.” And I’m like, uhh, no, they absolutely did. It was very much enforced that your life will be in danger if you don’t respect and do what an officer tells you to do. Doesn’t matter your skin color.
White guy and same here
Same for me, white male, but who cares about my skin color
My parents told me to comply and to be civil and respectful. Sometimes, the officer will end up giving you a warning. If you do get a ticket or even arrested contest that in court
This interview was one of the most important interviews for race relations that’s ever been had.
Dave Rubin is my favorite liberal. I never imagined I would say that about someone that was associated with The Young Turks. But the fact that they absolutely hate him is telling of how far "gone off the deep end" they really are. Dave is a brilliant man who is able to have a civil debate/ discussion on his political views and it's absolutely refreshing!
You see TYT lately? They are in chaos bc Anna is WAKING UP TOO, like Dave here. Just began over the “trans women” ideology (insanity).

We need more of HONEST journalism like this perfect display.
That shows intelligence. A mind thats OPEN to new information and the ability to PROCESS that information in a manner that enables change :)
Its a shame that too many wont believe even when presented with facts :(
Thats the effect of having a conversation with a conservative, the reason why BLM and liberals try to avoid it at all costs
Rubin is a liberal, but I think he is a principled liberal rather than an ideological one. I think liberal is a bit redundant in the context of U.S. politics since the entire U.S. system is based in classical liberalism, which means a classical liberal is effectively the conservative in the U.S. political system.
JT Larry Elder didn’t slap Rubin around he was there to get FACTS on the table. He just got across without walking out. Love Mr. Elder 🤗

I wish republican governor's would make this video, mandatory viewing in public schools. Two people listening to both sides, without screaming. Red pill them young.
I went back to re watch this now....every American should be watching this in 2020..
Sadly, too many idiots believe everything the see, read, and hear in MSM and on social media (social engineering) platforms. I believe it is changing ever so slowly, thought with everything going in here in America it may not seem so right now.
Not even just America, the whole world needs to hear this.
And 2021. I try to watch it at least once a year.
Yep
We need more libertarians and conservatives like Mr. elder in office. We’d be thriving. The wrong people have been in office, way too long.
I’m reading Dave’s book “Don’t Burn This Book” and it sent me to this awesome interview. I’ve never ever heard of this before. Awesome.
im on the left, but this guy makes some seriously strong points
Careful now. If you keep listening to the strong points that the massive host of libertarian/conservative intellectuals have that they invariably back up with data and you might just not be on the left anymore . . .
Yeah that's why I'm a libertarian now.
I like data, I find that libertarians often actually have more of that at their disposal. They also have reason, which I think they utilize better than the left.
My first true love, above any political ideology is science. Math doesn't have feelings.
Granted this guy is probally to the right of me a bit. But I do like Rubin because he takes a fact based approach, and I do think centrist leaning liberals in general have an honor and fidelity to understanding both principles and data, that I think there might be more to work with than the major parties would have people beleive in terms of og how people think.
I have a counter argument to Larry though on Racism.
The baseball card experiement. A white hand holding baseball card, a black hand holding the same card. Sold on ebay, the black hand card was worth about 20% less on average. Racial bias is very real. But i think it's more on the margins, and subconcious, as the experiement shows.
Bryan Winter
Wow, what a worthless experiment to prove your point. If you want a much better one, look to various experiements that show even nine-month-old babies show an in-group preference form members of their own race. There are a few out there, but here's one:
onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1467-7687.2012.01138.x/abstract
But that still helps to explain why such an experiment is a retarded example of proving "racism", especially with only a 20% differential.
Because I don't think anyone studying neuroscience or developmental psychology or even social psychology would deny that there are in-group preferences amongst people, and that often enough, these fall along racial lines.
But preferring your own race does not make you a racist. If that were the case then every single ethnic community that bands together in every city should be considered "racist." The fact that you might want to spend more time with your family rather than the immigrant family down the street could be seen as "racism" or that you're not attracted to members of other races (which a lot of dating sites that have revealed some of their data - like OK Cupid - shows) would be "racist."
But none of those trends show racism, they only show in-group preference. To show racism would require some kind of proof that not only do people have an in-group preference, but they are actively excluding others for not being in that in-group (and that would a very liberal definition of racism [and I don't mean politically liberal, but very broad]).
The problem with a study like that is demographics.
Let's assume that between blacks and whites in the US, the percentage of Ebay users is roughly the same. It's a fair enough assumption, though it could be be that rates are wildly disproportionate (and I'd expect they are).
But the fact is, the US' demographics breakdown so that it's roughly 60% of the population is white, and 13% is black.
Without any need to say that whites are expressing disapproval for blacks in the country, but only a slight in-group preference, you'd get more people picking the white handed baseball card over the black handed baseball card.
And that's just one factor in an experiment like that which can't be controlled for. Using a site like Ebay, which is out of the direct control of the proctors of such an experiment would undoubtedly have so many un-controlled for factors that would make pretty much any conclusion drawn from it scientifically worthless.
Jumping to the conclusion of "racism" is frankly, ridiculous. It requires that the person conducting the study to have a very strong confirmation bias for seeing racism in events where in-group preference or even demographic trends or who knows how many other factors which are at play?
But more to the point of Elder - I don't think he's ever argued that interpersonal racism doesn't exist. I don't know any sane person who does.
His point is that there is no systemic racism. I.E. there are no racist laws on the books that exist. And he's going to be right eventually on that no matter what because even if some extremely racist county in the middle of nowhere passed a law that expressly discriminated against a race were passed, it would be struck down once one person sued that city and it went into a higher court due to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The fact is, some level of in-group preference is not only unavoidable, it's probably a biological impulse.
But in-group preference does not racism make. Racism requires active thought against another person that leads to actions against another person solely on account of their race. And that's something that simply can't be legislated against. Nor should it be, because if it ever is, then we've entered a world where thought crime is real and we've crossed over into totalitarian territory.
Its unfair to say stupid stuff like that. It could of been how the picture was taken, how blurry the quality was, the glare on the card, the history of the seller, the writing of the description about the card. But even if it was the fact that there was a small difference, that is still not racism because humans feel more comfortable around their own race because race is usually seen as divided in this country due to social stigmas that won't go away as a joke to point out racism when it doesn't exist on a blanket statement. Racial bias or racism in general is person to person.
You won't be on the Left much longer. I was a typical Lefty. Fuck the cops. Fuck the corporations. Vote Obama cos he black. Now I'm center-right. There are SOME arguments on the left that may hold water in certain circumstances, but by and large the Right is way more about freedom, personal responsibility and scientifically-based solutions to economic and social problems. It's a tragedy that they're branded as homophobic troglodytes. It's by far the more intelligent side of the spectrum. Hopefully more smart, socially liberal people will come to the right and show people it's not all fascists and racists.

So true!
Pissed off and in the right
Funny analogy but I don't see Larry as pissed off. He comes across as something that is increasingly rare these days and someone not used to it might see it as being angry. Are you ready? Larry is a serious person...there I said it...lol. I know he has a funny side because I've seen it, but the issues he talks about are very serious issues and he takes them seriously and refuses to clown around like some are apt to do. Larry Elder is a total intellectual bad ass! We need academics like him now more than ever.
this is an old video now, and you can tell how much more information Dave has now compared to this interview. He was still in the liberal bubble, not judging, I was also. But you can tell he is just floored by the amount of knowledge and stats he was blind too. It's interesting to see and props to Dave for learning and changing his opinions instead of ignoring and falling back into that very bubble.
Looking back, this is the interview that Dave says really pushed him further to center than he was before. He had the right mindset pertaining to freedom of speech and thought which ultimately helped push him further away.
It is his stunning lack of facial hair, beards make you smarter, you heard it first here!
