    Simon continues to expand his youtube empire, utilizing his and our own paranoia and anxiety regarding intimidating thoughts most people don't purposefully expand upon.
    Space could one day just end us all.
    Murderers exist. Crime happens constantly. Conspiracy theories are so common now a days. Wars are raging on global scales and people don't wanna talk about the reality of it all.

  • @Pipe_Avileins
    @Pipe_Avileins Před 7 měsíci +20

    I remember when Simon was doing the series of the planets in Geographics and a lot of us proposed that he made an Astrographics channel, and i love that he finally did it, subscribed and hoping that does well enough to have regular content in it

    • @facetubetwit1444
      @facetubetwit1444 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Simon prolly has had millions of proposed channels put forward to him, so it's not surprising that some got it right. in fact Simon could prolly pull some random channel name out his ass and there would people out there saying "i once mention he should do that". point being no one cares and this dose not make you special in any way.

    • @jonathonmcknight1416
      @jonathonmcknight1416 Před 6 měsíci +4

      @facetubetwit1444 That's awfully harsh. He was excited about the channel. Of course he'd mention the fact that he'd suggested it before; a bunch of people has. Simon seems really excited about each new space topic whether it was on Geographics or here, and it's contagious. I'm glad that OP and people like him (including myself) are excited about this channel.

    • @facetubetwit1444
      @facetubetwit1444 Před 6 měsíci

      @@jonathonmcknight1416 that's reality of it. Simon is only in this for the money and will only produce topics he deems as financial benefits and dose not even personally read comments. think of it as you will but Simon dose not care about you or even this dude who thinks he was the sole suggestor of this topic/channel name.

    • @--enyo--
      @--enyo-- Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah. I remember making a bunch of comments over time asking for a channel on famous battles (suggesting names Battlegraphics and Warographics), as well as suggesting the Emu War as an April Fools video.
      I have no idea if any of those comments were ever actually seen or if it was all complete chance, but either way I’m happy now it’s a thing that exists.

    • @--enyo--
      @--enyo-- Před 6 měsíci +4

      @@facetubetwit1444I mean, they (Simon and co) get ideas from looking at the comments, and I’ve heard him talk about that in videos including mentioning people requesting the space ones. The OP isn’t saying ‘this channel exists because of my comment’, they’re saying ‘hey this thing a lot of us want now exists! Awesome!’. No one thinks Simon personally cares about them. However people (whether Simon personally or otherwise) involved in the production do read comments, as that’s how they can suss out what might be popular. They even reply a fair bit.
      The point is that however it happened we now have Astrographics and that’s a good thing. Chill out and enjoy the video.

    One of my favorite scenarios of this nature (just because it’s something that nobody thinks of) is one that was briefly mentioned near the beginning of “Rendezvous with Ramah”. In this scenario, a sphere of neutronium (the burned up, no longer luminous remnant of a neutron star) passes through our solar system. It would appear to us as a large asteroid being only a few kilometers across and seem harmless from a distance. But a ball of neutronium several kilometers across would actually have more mass than Jupiter and despite its small size, even if it came no where near colliding with anything, the gravitational pull it would exert on every body in our solar system would throw every orbit off and likely mean a slow death by heat or cold for everything on earth. Now…fair disclaimer: most physicists don’t think that the universe is anywhere near old enough for any cooled neutron stars to have formed yet. But haven’t I recently heard that jwst is suggesting that the universe might actually be a lot older than we thought?

    Actually the more important question to ask about an asteroid headed for earth isn't how big it is, but what its composition is, followed by the angle of its approach, then its size. For example, a rocky/icy asteroid would have much less significant impact on earth because most of it would burn up and air burst in the atmosphere before hitting earth crust. An asteroid comprised of mostly iron though... that would be much less likely breakup if it was of of significant size and would cause mass devastation. The angle of approach also makes a massive difference.

    As there was nothing to stop the more advanced people taking it, they did. If the less advanced people resisted, they were destroyed.
    But there is nothing on Earth thatr can not be gotten at with greater ease elsewhere,
