  • @ytafan4068
    @ytafan4068 Před 25 dny +7

    I think it comes down to the main difference between Qui-Gon and perhaps the entire Jedi Order at the time. Despite the mission they were on, Qui-Gon was willing to help Jar Jar and Anakin. Obi-Wan wasn't, and I don't think the rest of the Jedi would have either. While almost the entire Jedi Order were focused on protecting the Republic as a whole, Qui-Gon was perhaps the only one who wanted to help the individual citizens while helping the galaxy as a whole. He was able to connect and empathize with people - a skill or trait the Jedi had lost/forgotten. If the Jedi knew about Anakin and the Tusken, they would have decreed that he had turned to the dark side and cast him out. Qui-Gon would acknowledge that Anakin had committed a dark act, but he wouldn't have cast Anakin aside. He wouldn't have condoned what Anakin had done, but he would have comforted Anakin and tried to help Anakin work through the tumult of emotions.
    In the Legends book The Life and Times of Obi-Wan, as a ghost, Obi-Wan witnessed the events of ROTJ and the confrontation on the second Death Star. He was surprised when he saw Vader save Luke and toss the Emperor to his death. He saw Anakin reemerge. It was then that he understood what Qui-Gon was trying to teach him. Obi-Wan had given up on Anakin. Qui-Gon never did. After everything that happened, while I don't believe Qui-Gon would forgive Anakin for what he had done, he wouldn't have turned his back to Anakin.
    The continuity of the novel No Prisoners is debatable. Ahsoka was in it, so it should be part of the current continuity, but the Wookiepedia declared it Legends. Anyway, I think I mentioned it before, but Anakin meets Djinn Altis and the Altisian Jedi in that novel. At the end of the novel, Djinn Altis was cursing Yoda and the Jedi Order for not helping Anakin. Djinn Altis more or less stated that the Jedi Order were trying to get Anakin to control his emotions by putting a straight-jacket on them, rather than teaching Anakin to channel his emotions in a way that he could do good. There are fanfics out there where the Jedi, including Yoda, admit that while Obi-Wan was a good teacher for Anakin, Qui-Gon would have been a better mentor for Anakin. They say that because of the two's willingness to defy the Jedi Council. But I think it would have been better because of Qui-Gon's willingness to help the individual citizen rather than the whole - something Anakin wanted to do from the beginning. Qui-Gon would have been able to do what Djinn Altis believed the Jedi should have done - help Anakin learn to control his emotions and channel them to do good. Palpatine was able to do that, but to serve his evil intentions.
    At the beginning of a similar novel, Wild Space, Obi-Wan learned from Padmé about Shmi's death. That was enough to make him not berate Anakin for not obeying his orders to remain on Naboo. Watching Anakin break down and cry over the loss of his hand and his mother was the moment Obi-Wan chose to stop being Anakin's disapproving master and start being his friend. He did that because he saw that continuing to be the disapproving master wasn't going to help Anakin where Anakin really needed it. Around the time of Labyrinth of Evil and Revenge of the Sith, he saw that Anakin was still not at peace, and he often wondered where he went wrong. Why he didn't help Anakin more? The answer was because he didn't know how to help Anakin. He never knew how important it was to help the individual citizen. The events of the prequels and the Clone Wars, along with ROTJ, taught him that, and at the beginning of the Thrawn Trilogy, he gave Luke his final lesson before passing on completely. A lesson that C-3PO helped Luke to understand - governments are important, but so are people. This lesson enabled Luke and his allies to help Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, and Garm Bel Iblis. And those acts allowed the three and their associates to reciprocate and help the New Republic for years afterwards.

    my theory is more about the force- i think the force flows like water or the wind through life, exciting the natural elements in all life like midichlorians or whatever- so imagine if all of the good guys trying to serve the force were too resistant to change- bogged down by dogma and fear. so what that does is it plugs up the light- the jedi are getting an extremely small amount of force really fast maybe it causes a physical anxiety because theyre so bogged down that theyre not helping other forms of life- remember what anakin says "if i were a jedi id come back here and free all the slaves" no shit that kid has the force in him its that empathy that smooths the forces flow its why he could wield it so well he wasnt blocked up so the flow is easier to meditate on and run with. qui-gon merely recognized how hes the best conduit hes ever seen. using a fluid metaphor this kinda makes sense hes there to get rid of the damme blockage from the light side and stop the overflow on the other side. the sith are always destroyable they bleed the force theyre idea is block it up so tight its like wielding hydrocannons with psi to cut iron; that would explian why theyre so torn up physically theyre basically trying to keep up with a hydrocutter pace of force. destroying that allows the reset people like luke and so on can thing spring board into a more calm even flow across life. anakin is essentially replacing old infrastructure. and lukes trying to do a more efficient method.

    • @36inc
      @36inc Před 25 dny

      so naturally if youre trying to win against someone like that you need to cheat too to keep up. he had to be a sith to end the sith. and since he unblocks his own path in doing so anakin freed alot of metaphorical and real slaves. too bad it wasnt on tatioone though they should really make a skywalker give a shit about that at some point they all just collectively give up on the whole planet. XD

He gave in to the dark side, he attacked his father and even maimed him. Then he did the one thing that Anakin could not believe was possible: Luke stopped what he was doing, and made the RIGHT decision. Luke showed him that IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO DO THE RIGHT THING! Anakin never believed that was possible until that moment. For all the things that those closest to him said and did, they were never in a position to truly guide Anakin back. Only Luke was. Padme, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Yoda - none of these people had been to the "gates of hell" as Anakin and Luke had. Luke had to fall (momentarily), and come back to himself, to show his father the way.

      He was only fulfilling the will of the Force who created him as a fighter against the Sith, to which he returned after he fulfilled the task assigned to him by it -to restore balance which was disrupted by the confrontation between the Jedi and the Sith. The Younglings could have suffered a more terrible fate while Sidious was in power. Their lives could have ended even worse if they had fallen into the hands of the Imperials. As if you don't understand it yourself? And you think like a person who does not make the decision senior management like of the Force that decides in the world of Star Wars. So at least they found peace. Vader showed mercy from a certain point of view. They are lucky that they did not learn what the Inquisition and the imperial army are from the Sith point of view. How did their training method differ from that of the Jedi. Why did they take force-sensitive children. Lucas created a fairy tale with a happy ending saying that: It's never too late to change your lifestyle. Anakin grew up after going through his thorny path, became wiser, admitted that he was wrong, rethought a lot, starting to appreciate the life of a Jedi more, comparing the experience gained in both factions. And Skywalker Sr. himself is not to blame that he was not brought up correctly, did not help in time, did not listen, did not understand, left alone with his problems, missed a person with borderline personality disorder in which, due to negative events, the dark side woke up and began to vent Anakin's anger, pain, resentment and disappointment on others.
