Homemade Jeweler's Saw - Metal Cutting Coping Saw

I made this jeweler's saw because for many projects I needed to cut steel in complex shapes and had no way to do it except outsourcing it to a CNC.
This saw can cut used table saw blades, my material of choice when making knives and other small tools. Which is more than enough for me. The fact that it does it quietly and that it's such a small simple tool is a bonus in my tiny home workshop. - Jak na to + styl
That's amazing!
You know, every time I visit your channel, I feel the need to go back and watch your older videos. Can't say that about a lot of channels.
LOL, maybe it's because I don't have enough fresh content? :)
The Small Workshop haha, well, that's a way to put it.
Your quality has definitely improved, I'm suggesting this channel to some friends. :)
Wow, the care you had with the details go way beyond what was needed for that to simply work... it became a piece of art!
It’s cool
Using a drill chuck to hold the taps: pure genius! Thanks a lot for the tip, and big props for that saw!
Wow! Must be a pleasure to work with a selfmade saw like that. Looks not only wonderful but also rock solid. Most definitely one of the best CZcams vids I've ever watched. Thank you!
As a jeweler I was very curious about this video. I’m glad I watched. Excellent craftsmanship and a job well done!
Thanks for not filling the silence with unnecessary music or chatter. Well done.
your videos make me feel warm and cozy, like sitting by the fire on a cold winter night or something cliche
I'm impressed! That came out really nice. I especially like that so much of it is hand-cut with simple tools.
Needless to say that your job is amazing !
Greetings from Argentina
Man... That was awesome! I enjoy watching videos where people make something from scratch but this one is really special. Bravo man!
Maybe one of the nicest handmade coping saws I've ever seen. Functional work of art. Great job!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful. Love the background sounds. No goofy music!
Mesmerizing! An absolute pleasure to watch a skilled craftsman!
What a marvellous tool you created! I absolutely love it!!!
If only I had the energy to do something like that, too...
Really a very beautiful saw. That one goes on my bucket list of shop projects for someday.
That is one beautiful little saw right there! Nicely done!
What a great job. That saw looks SOLID. Looks way better than some of the junk you get at the store! Nice craftsmanship.
Thank you! I was afraid that it will be to heavy when done, but it feels ok while cutting and is very rigid.
BEAUTIFUL!
I'm always proud of folks who came go from concept to design to production. Thanks
Thank you!
excellent video. zero talk . complete sense. just admire the way you did it
You sir are an craftsman. But most of all, an artist. Well done.
I realize this is an older video but I hope you're still seeing new comments that are added. I find this project to be 100% top-shelf. You did an outstanding job of making that saw and I only hope I can copy it and end up with one that is close to being as good. Very well done indeed!
Thank you! :)
Incredible skill and patience. Love the level of detail you put into every piece. 👌
Nicely done! This wil go into my handtool to-do list. Thanks for sharing.
"Wow "it comes out really very well.
I wish every video on CZcams was as well put together as this one. Beautiful saw as well..excellent
Thank you mate, you made my morning!
Beautiful work. Always impressed by what you can accomplish in a broom closet with some ingenuity.
Thank you very much!
Excellent workmanship.
Loved it! Very nice looking jewelry saw...and functional!
That is beautiful. Compared to the commercially mass produced saw that I have in my workshop, that is a work of art. You have inspired me to try and make one of my own.
Thank you!
Amazing. I have never seen something like this. You have opened my mind thanks so much
Creating not just a tool but Art. Awesome
your craftsmanship is spectacular. I wish I had the patience to make tools this beautifully
Thanks! Patience I have, true, but the craftsmanship still needs a lot working on :)
Wow. Really love your videos! I read your response about making time for the workshop. I hope you'll get more soon because these videos are just fantastic. Great work, man!
Thank you very much! As the channel grows I hope I'll be able to post content more often. At the moment I'm around one video a month and I'm trying to push it to a video every two weeks, see if I can manage that.
One of the great joys of life is making things. It is a shame that the basic skill are no longer taught in most schools.
Well, hand making things is pretty useless in the modern society, that's why they ditched it in schools. Take this saw for example, you could probably buy a better one for like ten bucks. And it took me a few hours every evening for almost a week to make it. So economically it makes no sense to make things ourselves. Like you said, it's just joy.
yes indeed beautifully made. looks stunning
Extremely professional made!!
Por lejos, estos son el tipo de videos que mas me gustan. Te enseñan a hacer tus propias herramientas con materiales faciles de encontrar y utilizan herramientas comunes. Te felicito
That looks fantastic. Well done.
Amazing craftsmanship!
Very well designed & perfectly made.

This video deserves too much likes. It’s so satisfying that I can’t explain. You are a artist. This tool is amazing. I would like to do it, but unfortunately I haven’t your tools and pieces 🤷🏻♂️😢
man you do some great work! I think its awsome! You make this tool, so you can make this project 10x easyer and better. so then you use the previous tool to make a nother tool to improve even more! DAMN fine work for just hand tools!
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate, that's the best thing I've ever seen on youtube. Love your work and attention to detail.
I've always wanted a jeweler's saw and you've inspired me to make one!
I only had this one for a few days now, but I find it very useful. The possibilities it offers are endless when it comes to shape sheet metal. I say go for it, it's a nice, simple project. Also they are quite cheap to buy if you don't want to go though all the trouble.
That is absolutely Stunning!!!
Excellent work, turned out really nice.
Thank you!
I love finding these little gems!

Schweeet! GREAT build! Thumbs Up. I have to say, that Your videos are extremely Inspirational. Looking forward to many more in the future. Have A Super Week!..... Gus
Excellent work! Both impressed with the workmanship, and the video does a great job of explaining all the steps for those who may want to try to do the same. Thanks!
Also, any chance you could post a link to where one might buy the blades? I'm having trouble finding the exact Proxxon blade. And thanks again!

Beautiful handmade tool 😎👍👍
Awesome job! Love the things you make ...
Thank you! Cheers!
That is awesome, turned out really nice. If I didn't already have 2 including a lovely antique saw then I would be making one.
Thanks! Would love to have and antique one, I searched for a while without success before I decided to make this one.
+The Small Workshop I was lucky to find one at a car boot. It has suffered a little damage but it still works great. When I went to the V&A recently I saw an almost identical saw (mine is a just a little deeper in the throat) in their jewellery exhibit, it was dated to the mid 19th century.
Beautiful! Thanks for posting this.
Great workmanship!
Thank you!
I love these vids! Congratulations! Greetings from Brazil.
Definitely the work of a master. Thank you so much for sharing.
Far from master, but than you for your comment!
Wow, that is a beautifully made tool
Thank you!
Хорошая работа! Очень нужный и эстетически красивый инструмент получился.
Жаль что самому пилки не сделать....а то можно было бы перейти на автономное существование вообще))
