Rusty Cleaver Restoration With Ebony Handle
Going back to my roots, restoring a rusty old cleaver I've found in the ruins of my grandmother's house.
The cleaver was forged by a local blacksmith from an old plow blade folded on itself to form the handle.
Not a true restoration, since I've reshaped the cleaver, I know.
For the handle I've turned a nice piece of black ebony wood.

Check out my woodturning channel: @MidnightArtWoodturning In this video I am restoring another item from the rust bucket, a mini jewelers anvil that was missing a stand. It is a simple restoration, with some basic rust removal and polishing and then woodturning a wooden stand for it. The stand was inspired by an antique jewelers anvil from France. 00:00 Intro 00:39 Drilling & Tapping 04:00 Rust...

Rust Bucket Restoration - Episode 2
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 2 měsíci
Continuing the rust bucket series, what will we restore in episode 2? Another flea market find, for which I've paid $1. What might it be? Well, since no one reads the description anymore, I might as well tell you: It's an old, sturdy Crescent pipe wrench, made in the USA. I know it's not the most spectacular object to restore, and I know wrenches have been restored in plenty of videos, but I've...
Rust Bucket Restoration - WEEK 1
zhlédnutí 19KPřed 2 měsíci
Going back to my roots, in this video I'm restoring an antique pruning knife, the kind used in vineyards before the invention of pruning shears. I have a full bucket of rusty antique tools that I inherited from my grandfather or that I have bought from flea markets. If you like this video I hope to turn it into a series. Also I am experimenting with a new camera, please let me know if the video...
Using a laser to make tools and jigs - xTool P2
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 3 měsíci
I'm not much of a fan of decorative woodworking, I'm more like a guy that loves tools for what they are: tools, practical objects that have a purpose, a job to do. So I've been planning to use the laser to make tools and jigs from the first moment I've got it and now the time has come. In this video I'm making a few jigs that will be used in my workshop: - a sandpaper file - a circle finding to...

If you are interested in this machine here's a link to it: www.xtool.com/products/xtool-p2-55w-co2-laser-cutters?ref=o4QMq9wzwpmBOC& xTool sent me this CO2 laser cutter free of charge to make a few videos about it. I have full creative freedom and can state my honest opinion. So far I like this machine a lot better than the diode laser. Only the fact that it can engrave and cut acrylic it makes...

Making a Japanese Shoji Lamp - ATEZR L2 Laser Engraver

ATEZR offered me this laser that can cut or engrave many of the materials I use in the workshop: atezr.com/products/atezr-l2-36w-laser-engraver I've never owned or operated a laser engraver before, but I am really happy with this one. And I'm not saying that just because they sent me this machine, but because it opens my workshop up to a world of possibilities, with cutting all kinds of wood an...
Old German Bench Grinder Restoration

Patreon www.patreon.com/TheSmallWorkshop (Behind The Scenes) Restoring an old German bench grinder that I thought will be an easy fix and a coat of paint and it turned out to be a hundred little things that needed attention. Since the bench grinder was already working I did not do much on the mechanical side, but the wiring was in poor shape and needed a complete overhaul.
Making A Vintage Plumb Bob

Patreon www.patreon.com/TheSmallWorkshop (Behind The Scenes) This is a simple project, made on the wood lathe. I wanted to recreate a vintage plumb bob. And I wanted to do it for a practical reason, I am renovating part of my house and I can't seem to find two bubble levels to show me the same vertical, so I thought this ancient technology could be used to calibrate the levels.

these are great projects, but you dont say what wood and what oil?????????
Excelente... 👏👏👏
😂😂😂😂😅😅😂😂
Приколист да, ты?😅
One of a kind
Super nice
I can always tell when it’s an American measuring lol inches is the dead giveaway even most Canadians use metric (some even use it for building…ew)
O gato tá armando agora 😂
Lots of “experts” out there!!! I think you did a great job on the cleaver restoring the blade and making a handle out of a table leg. Excellent eye and execution!!! Well done sir!! The Old Army Scout…
Thank you!
В конечном этоге получилась шуба из собаки?!
Great result! Nice job
Your fingers are way too close to the table saw blade!
Since when has the verb "restore" become a synonym of the verb "destroy"?
@@TheSmallWorkshop Geez, the corruption goes deeper than I thought.
I saw this cat in my yard, he looked cheeky
Nice wok, your grandma would be very proud!
Can you make one massive video of most of the masterpieces of restoration videos you have made?
lavar com agua e depois acertar no esmeril e foda mano
Restoration? You created a whole new blade. The title is uncorrect.
Keren luar biasa ❤
Thanks for the laugh. Look up the definitions of 'Restore' and then 'Repurposed', guess which definition applies to this post. The butchered cleaver is no more, perhaps welding would have kept it in a restorable condition. Having said that I do like the ebony handle.
Это же легендарная финка лгбд 🤦🏼♂️
😂😂😂😂😂
😂❤ Stiletto super korrekt alte Feilen geht das auch, hard als auch weich genug❤,gute Arbeit 👍
Real ebony wood is very expensive and rare. I think I would have saved it for something a bit more special than this.
I saved it for 5 years now. It was either this or save it forever.I'm turning into a hoarder 😀
@@TheSmallWorkshop HA HA. Okay. Nobody wants hoarding.
Grandma would be proud.
Thanks!
Fantastico. Un bel trapano, e un restauro di primordine. Solo alla fine avrei dato una lucidata alle viti, è tutto bello lucido, le viti arrugginite stonano.
From Diablo1, 'Grandma's cleaver'... no wait a sec... 🤣
😂😂😂😂
In one year, it will be rusty again, because of incorrect metal treatment.
Your video is very helpful, I will try it
I am new ro your channel, but i like the longer format
Thanks and welcome!

I really admire you work especially because you don’t have a big following Anymore (even though the you deserve it) you still but in effort for the people you hate still watch and I appreciate that
And I appreciate you guys staying subscribed in the 2 years that I was away from CZcams. Thank you!
My God, what a bunch of precious, judgemental a-holes in this comment section! Please don't pay any attention to them and just keep on doing your own thing.
LOL! Thanks!
Garden tool or hoe....that handle is a bit short for the job the instrument does. Great video short. Just found your channel and subscribed!😊
Thanks for the sub!
That wood is so beautiful. The polish you gave it really makes it shine
At 2:55 I thought, “is this some perspective trick? How isn’t it cutting through the table?” At 3:03 I realized it is in fact cutting through the table 😂
👍👍👍
At first I was like "wtf", but then I was like, nice job my man 👍🏻
You made a Serbian knife 🔪
Yes. When I decided to cut the hole instead of filling it I googled some possible shapes and the serbian chef knife was the one that I liked the most.
Good job on Beaver Cleaver. Can't wait to see restoration videos for Wally Cleaver, June Cleaver, and Ward Cleaver.
двуногий. ты создал оружие. если ты не покормишь кота. у тебя будут проблемы
Almost to pretty to use. Almost. And I like how you repurposed the cleaver into something more useful. Unless you butcher your own, who uses a cleaver?
Nice work, just in the process of doing my own, super helpful tips, thanks. Love that mini anvil 👍
i missed these so much
