- The Guild M-120 is a popular parlor-sized model for Guild, but how does it compare to the OM-sized version? Both mahogany guitars with very similar specs… but will the body size make a big difference? Which one would you take home?

I love the M-20 concert size...but i do wish Guild made an OM-20 in their American line-up... love that size guitar!
Very good comparison. Greatings from Italy!
Thanks for the great review guys, I'm about to begin to think about considering the prospect of maybe telling my partner I need the M120..... wish me luck
I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison between the M-120 and an M-20...
I played the D-120 and was amazed by how good it sounded. Lots of volume plenty of bass to.
Happy Place to Visit!!!! Thanks :-).
Was just wondering what the sound difference was in these two models and stumbled on this video. Thanks for let my stumble on you.
Recordings with a body size like the M 120 is fun.
They are so easy to bring on tape using the right micro of course
Gorgeous guitars and this musician plays both of them well.
I tried buying that M20 on line for the very first time y wasn’t disappointed my first made abroad y first fr USA(1989 rosewood y spruce top)y my third a D20 last Nov…
Im impressed by the brightness and it seems less compressed than most M topped guitars.
Just bought an OM-120. My main guitar is a Martin but I really wanted a Guild and an all-mahogany (or sapele, as I think mine is) in that 000 or OM size and this fit the bill. I love the appointments, though the fit and finish aren't as perfect as they are on the Martin. But heavily recommended if you're looking for this type of guitar and don't mind that it's an overseas, somewhat mass-produced instrument.
Which Martin do you have? I wish I could have a 00015m, my fav for sure. Overseas models have improved a lot over the years. I am considering the Om120 too, or the Sigma replica of the 00015m. Can't decide :/
The M-20 is a gem also !
You guys don't happen to have a Guild OM-140ce or 150ce do you? I can't find a decent review/sound comparison anywhere.
Pretty guitars too 🥰
Agree. Mahogany such an appealing wood in looks and sound. The complete laid-back all rounder, and these both sound great.
Looks, sound and scent (mahogany guitars smell great!! Seriously...)
When I used to own a Taylor GS Mini, I would always smell it after taking it out of the case.
It was addicting
Parlor or 00? A parlor is generally considered to be synonymous with a single 0, right?
OM120 is killer
I have really been thinking about getting one, debating between it and a 00-15m/000-15m Martin. If Guild made a USA version of the OM-120 I would probably pull the trigger...
My biggest complaint of the Westerly mahogany guitars is the gloss finish, which is why I like the 15-series Martins.
Good comparison
Guilds are nice.
Sir which one would you recommend between guild om-120 or Martin 000-10e ??
I prefer the real wood fingerboard on the Guild (Martin have a richlite fingerboard and I don't like it)
$700 for an all solid mahogany that looks better then the american made taylor and martin all mahogany. Heck of a deal.
Mmm I don't think it has the looks of the Taylor or the sound of the martin.. when played side by side with a 000 15m martin i guess we will see how good they are.. for 700 tho that's some nice price for sure..
@@krismcreynolds984 A friend of mine has a Martin 000-15M; me being now owner of an OM-120 I can tell you that the price difference is not totally justified. Moreover my friend had a hell of a trouble with his guitar: after 6 months from the purchase the bridge started lifting from the top. He had to mount extra light gauge strings (0.10), which to me sounds foolish speaking of an all solid mahogany small body guitar. He was advised by his professional luthier. The 000-15M has a more mellow, seasoned and woody sound than the OM-120, but it's a bit less versitale to me. However I chose the Guild to "come close" to my friend's Martin in the first place, and that says it all.
Martins are the most overpriced acoustics on the planet, followed by Gibsons. I'd put a Larrivée up against either of those brands any day, and save a nice chunk of change in the process.
@@G_Demolished You’re a silly comment. And a sucker.

I would throw Godin / Seagulls, and Alvarez in there
also 👍!
I almost bought an m-120 once but I just felt it sounded too thin. Boxy but thin. Kind of an odd sound.
Put some different strings on it
@@markeverson5849 nah it was the guitar mate. It had those bright elixir things that I hate because they're not boxy enough.
What is the bottom line price on each?
Sorry but this video is almost a year old. Neither guitar is currently in stock but if you would like more information about pricing, feel free to send me an email. chad@musicvilla.com
Is this guitar made in USA?
No China, look the price. I pay my "Guild om-120" 555 euro included a good bag. This guitar is one of the best for its price range. The American "Guilds" start at around 1700 euros.
The OM by a mile.
I've got an old Guild Mahogany it's got the round back the tag fell out of it I've had it for years and years I don't remember which model it is but my question is why don't you guys ever play some American music that we recognize on those guitars? You know like some old Beatles some old Neil Young some Elvis Buck Owens something that we can recognize? So that we can hear the song Here the guitar and recognize it instead of just some strange chords?
No interest in that video. Only blabla...
