    SIDE NOTES: I in my stupidity forgot battery health does suffer on EARLY Japanese Leafs due to chemistry make up, Checking leaf battery health can be done with a dongle or you can check number of health bars on battery down the right hand side. However again UK built leafs and Renault Zoes, BMW i3, Tesla's all have GREAT battery conditions and its EXTREMELY unlikely your find a bad one. AGAIN if its LEASED battery don't worry if it fails it gets replaced FREE OF CHARGE! (pun intended)
    Special Thanks to my Patron's listed in the description however welcome to my NEW patron "Darren Sant" thanks so much for your support this channel wouldn't grow without your financial help!

    AC charging is the most important to check as that checks the on-board charger - even witha granny charge if no proper outlet is available. Apart from the connector, there's not much hardware in the car dedicated to DC charging so less likely to be an issue

    Apparently, with Zoe a fairly minor bump at the front can leave no obvious sings externally but results in a snapped headlight fixing so check that neither of the two black plastic fixings on each lamp unit has snapped. They may still be aligned so pull each lamp unit forward a little at the top and check that the straps which attach them to the body have no signs of cracks or repairs

    I've worked in the motor trade on and off since I was 16 (a long time) and its always good to hear from others. We all have different experiences and we all gain by sharing. I've been interested in electric vehicles for quite a while now, but I've got a fair way to go to catch you up :D I finally got a Zoe R110 3 months and 4,000 miles ago (renting) and its been excellent. There is nothing like living with an EV to learn the pros and cons and its pretty much all pros. It's worth mentioning when looking for damage on a Zoe to check the headlights, the brackets can get broken by minor knocks to the front. Hopefully see you at Fully Charged

    • @NicolasRaimo
      @NicolasRaimo  Před 5 lety +4

      Hi Doug yes good point if its had a light smash when you do your front bonnet open inspection checking them brackets havn't broken and lights have dropped in height.
      As you likely know Doug to go far and do well in the motor trade you either have to have a passion for what you self or blag the hell out of it. My passion for large engine cars started to disappear as i became more environmentally focused. Then I looked into EV's and the environmental benefits. Then I drove an EV and the instant speed hit me! This is when my passion started to come back into the motor trade. However this time i now spend LOTS of my personal time researching the tech, learning more about the electronics and tech and its more a hobby that i get paid to do.

    Check its got its locking wheel nut tool - my Leaf had an unrepairable puncture, that the tyre repair kit couldn't fix, about a week after I bought it and when I discovered that the locking wheel nut tool was missing. It was quite a battle to get the dealer to supply one (there are a lot of different patterns).

    Hi Nicolas, I have a 2015 i3 that I love, but one problem and it only happens at a Electrify / America charger DC. When I plug it in some times it does not want to start. There customer service has had me do some strange things. Like hold the cable up so the weight does not pull down. On the outlet. I'm not a electrician but this is not the trouble. It always turns out to be a program problem. With there charger. The last thing is and this has happen at more then one location. Everything works I plug it in to my car and it starts to charge. At the end of the charge its time to unplug. It will not let go, and the charging will not stop. I have had Electrify / America reboot there station and after 2 or 3 reboots it will let go and turn off the power. I have been told that it's a 2015 BMWi3 thing by Electrify/ America. ( A Problem with BMW) It only happen when I use there charger. Has this happen to you in the UK?
