  • I show how to adjust the two most common types of suspension seatposts to reduce side to side play. I was working on this Cannondale and the seat was all wiggly. Very weird trying to ride it.

Odd that bicycle manufacturers went away from springy seats that lasted forever, but re-invented the springy seat by making a springy post that wears out. Nice breakdown and repair. I hope all is well with you and snow storms are over (at least through September).

Such a helpful video in giving an understanding into suspension seatpost workings. After just buying a new one for my wife with a woeful lack of instructions, both this video and the teardown video have given me a full understanding of not just how they work but also the maintenance of them. I had no idea that the 'free play' collar was for those nylon bushes...I assumed at first that collar was to limit the amount of travel or to lock out travel.
I have already today both received, learned, disassembled, greased to my own satisfaction the suspension post and have a full understanding, extremely helpful video...sincere appreciation for it....liked, subscribed, learnt.

This was a great video! Quick question- I want to buy a used bike on Facebook marketplace, and it has the comfort suspension. However, because it does not allow the seat to go down all the way, I can barely touch the ground. Is there a way to take out the suspension comfort mechanism and be able to put the seat down all the way?

Go on Amazon and search suspension seatpost. They are priced from $25 to nearly $300. The expensive ones will be better than the cheap ones. Read reviews. Good luck.

Check out Redshift Sports and their seatpost and stem combo. Not cheap, but very well thought out for taking the edge off bumps. The seatpost is a fairly recent product, but both have a fair number of independent reviews on CZcams.

chajcu - WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?
I’m pretty sure that if we chatted for a few minutes, we’d find SOMETHING that’s really obvious to other people, that would be puzzling to you. Maybe like...human psychology? 🤔
How do you not know that being mechanically-minded is an aptitude, just as some are naturally charismatic and can win almost anyone over? Or can come up with songs or choreography out of thin air? Or paint and draw images they see in their heads? Or can take seemingly random ingredients and whip up an exquisite meal? And I can go on & on, but HOPEFULLY you get my point. 🙄
Maybe try being more OBSERVANT and expand your scope of interests.
