Just remember to grease it, WD40 isn't lubricant :)

For everyone who's watching, he did it all correctly except for that he forgot to grease it properly at the end (WD40 does not serve as Grease).
Bike suspensions should always use non rubber corrosive greases like Calcium Grease with almost always type 2 grease viscosity.
Nice video, bye bye!
Hi, I've just a bike with these forks, do they not need any fork oil?
Hi, do you know where to get those other than a bike shop?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am converting a couple old bikes into a dirt jumper bike and I needed suspension for heavy landings. I used this video and it saved my life as I was going to buy a new suspension fork but I used the video and saved at least a hundred bucks
Thank you so much for this video. It helped me restore an old mountain bike so I can get into the sport! You helped me get into the sport of mountain biking and I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.
All fork instructions say Don't ever use WD40 on them. It swells seals and causes damage. Only use Correct grease
I was about to say that. You can almost hear the cry from help as he compressed 😂
Thank you man!You just helped a 12 year old mtb enthusiast to make his suspensions softer!thank you so much!
He didnt grease it
@@Kemo-sc7nt I can do that lol
@@peterpopovics9901 do it then dont use wd40 for greasing PLEASE use it to clean
@@sbek1386 WD40 have whole asortiman of products from basic lubricants and cleaners to high end Lithium lubricants etc etc we pessants call WD 40 just one product - universal one ..
I’ve been looking for a good video and this one actually helped

Thanks for posting, just bought my son a 2nd hand mtb bike and the forks are stiff. This is really useful.
This is very helpful - have not seen the insides of front forks before - thank very much for sharing!
Learning is very easy with ur instructions. Thanks.
Thanks very much . I was searching for such a video . my suspension was stuck for years..
That was fantastic!!! Just what I was looking for! Thanks dude!
I’m a beginner, and this definitely super helpful
Thank you. You saved my bike!
You missed the grease.
Edgardo Infante yes I did...all I had at the time was WD40
Thanks for the video. I did the same yesterday with my fork and used your technique to clean the spaces between the fork and the tubes with a rug and a stick. Happy riding :)
Edgardo Infante That's it man!!! Keep Riding🤘🏻
Thanks for this. I have just bought a teflon grease and wondering where exactly i should apply it to my fork?
Jones Tizmo Just apply the grease on all moving parts and work is done
Wow this is owesom I ben looking for a video with out much chit- chat. Just this video is perfect. And believe me a learn and fix my bike 100%. Thank you very much 😊

I just want to say thank you!! my trek 4 series hardly moved, now it good as new!!! thank you!
Nathan McDonald You welcome mate! Keep Riding
You gotta grease it. You
Can't just slap it back together with only WD40
Thanks for showing this mate 👍
mantap gan tutorial videonya.. besok langsung dicoba, di fork suntour xcr ane.. 😁
thanx its helped a lot for my friend😊👍subscribed 😊😊
Thank you the video was so halpful
If you don't have grease to hand Don't use WD40 use something like a wet chain lube if you have to. It'll protect the moving parts far better than a thin, solvent based oil which will dry out quickly and leave everything unprotected.
Better still, wait until you have a dedicated suspension grease!
Thank you for the video. Please telk me this: what's the size of wrench you used to remove the top cap of the fork? Thanks
Super video! Many thanks
Thanks man for the help!!!:D
Bro this helped me Soo much. Thank you!
Very useful this video.. thanks
Very helpful, thank you.
it's very good job thank you
Very helpful & Thanks.
Thank you so much for sharing 👍🏻
I have a specialized mycha 26. It Has the original forks on it (XCT-V3) .. they are basically the same as these. Am I able to stiffen them up? It's made for someone the weighs much less than me..
i did mine today it was full of rusty water so after cleaning i loaded it up with grease i guess it will help keep water out
Don’t wipe the grease out tho it will attract dust
@@alvierisolorio1791 he did put grease wdym?
Hi i notice u pull one one side for cleaning, the side that is use for adjustment. How about the other side? Anyway to open it?
Does this video applies to all basic suntour sus? I happen to have an old bike GT avalanche
Pls advise thank you you
This is the most useful vid I seen in years ,.. really helpful
Please don't use this video as it will probably cause more cost that if you ask a professional
Thank you . from korea
Love the old school GT and Giant bikes😍👍
Great vid, only change is the WD-40 for final lube. It is mostly kerosene not a lubricant and evaporates. Need to add a lite lube at the assembly. Great work.
videoclipul acesta m-a facut sa-mi doresc mai mult sa-mi pun furca pe fata cu suspensii :)
I purchased a new Aventon Level E Bike in Mar 2022, it has the cheap
zoom fork, after about 2 weeks the front fork makes a clunk sound when
going over some bumps and it's
pissing me off, it does not do this when it's locked out though, does
anyone know what the issue is? Or even an upgrade fork the would fit
this bike? Thanks John
Fácil rápido y sencillo...no sabía pero aprendí😮🙂
Nice! thanks..... I have Spinner Grind shocks on a Marin Pioneer Trail I just picked up. I don't know if they are air or spring. I guess I'll find out!! I'll ask at my LBS today.
If they are air on the bottom of the fork there will be a cap that u can turn if u want the fork to get out faster or slower
you forgot to grease the coil side that will make the most difference
Im going to have to do this to a giant i just got from a coworker glad i found this vid
Beej W make sure you use fork oil
what do you recommend for the grease fork or wd40
IT is very helpful for me because I’m a new biker and I’m reapering old bikes
Nicely done. I was thinking you were about to grease it and then forgot about it. I'd maybe spray white lithium grease down the fork.
Jesus no it would destroy the lowers as they are made out of magnesium, Always use suspension grease
nice work
Can this fork fit in the hero ranger bicycle
Hello i have the problem. Can you please help me, when i push them in they wouldnt come back up, and it just blocks like that, and i need to pull them up to get them back, and they wont even go in after some time, and also they are hard to pull in. Some people told me to that i need to rub them with hard paper, and wd-40 but i dont know if that would damage them, idk what to do pls help me. I drive TREK XCALIBER 8, with suntour xcr fork.
I have a question that i would really want answered. My bike's front oil suspension was recently changed and one day while i was doing wheelies my bike's suspension maxed and from then when i try to do a manual or a bunny hop or whenever i try to lift my front wheel it makes a loud noise. I searched it on both Google and CZcams but i didn't find anything. If you know how can i solve this problem i would really appreciate it
nice work m8. A piece of practical advice. When you spray WD40 on an item and then plan to clean it with a rug, better to hold the rug behind it durig spray, in order to avoid making a mess around and not waste lubricant material
Did you do both sides of the suspension or just the lock side?
How do I fix my forks if i can't adjust themm my suspension forks was stuck on stiff and i want them to be softer my forks were still clean tho
Did you find a solution
@Max Kozinets 👍👍👍❤️👌👌👌
i would suggest getting a new valve adjuster or check for any corrosion or breaks inside the mechanism less about the fork and more about the hardware inside
Hooo. Thank you for your help full video
good vid but what if you have a cheap RADcamo mtb i tried to take the tops off the forks and a bit of plastic broke off
Helpful video 👍
This is very usefull video
If you ride all the time is it necessary to replace it?Or you only do that when you haven't ride for a long time?
Thank you for this
I'm gonna try tomorrow!!!

TheTorkerman-Adam Thanks mate!
Riders PT just did this on my sons Suntour XcR, worked great, i mean they are pretty shit forks that have loads of play in the bushings, but at least he can ride now while we save for new forks, thanks again.
life saver! legit
Great video! Nice one! :))
Super good job👍👍👍👍👍👍
thanks for this video
Excellent!!! 🌟🚲
nice 👌👌👌
super idea
Does it work with Huffy Rock Creek Kolo bikes too?
I can’t take the cover of the suspension off as the bolts are covered, is there nothing I can do?
U didnt grease any of the internal parts?,would help prevent rust as well as lubricate too.
WD40 is a water repellent so it helps prevent rust but a good lube is a must :)
Is this work for air work?if not please make a video how to repair air fork.i dont know what to do in my WEAPON AIR FORK
I have a GT Avalanche Comp 29 from 2018. It has a tapered frame. I would like to upgrade the Suntour forks to RockShox. My current Suntour forks are straight. My question is can I replace my straight Suntour forks with Tapered RockShox forks on my bike that has a tapered frame and if so what do I require to do this?
southstar My current forks are straight and the frame is tapered.
Con lo que limpio es una desegrasante?
Y no le echa grasa?
thx ..it worked...no longer seized !...... BTW...dont you need to clean the air spring too?
Those forks aren’t air
Nice one idol 👍🚴♂️🚴♂️💕
Ossom bro love you
If someone needed to replace the rubber boots or the internal rubber insulater's/bumpers where to buy these? Good video by the way!
I dont have any bolts on my Suspension? Can i remove it?
helpfull vidio thanks
you should use some sort of silicone based grease to lube the fork lowers , and sometimes the seals need to be replaced to stop water from getting in the fork and cause rust
at 3:10 mine was very tide its not coming and i unfortunately breaks it and some parts got inside the suspension what should i do
what is the recorder on the shock edzover how to use that????
Thanks bro
We have to remove power brake also?
did you only used WD 40 inside of the suspension??
Is that also work for suntour XCT??
Hey bro i have a broken preload cap how can i replace it ??
Yll mere front suspension band padh gya h kya kru yll oiling v kr de but😥 kuxx ni huva plzz rply
