I really enjoyed the first grounded doc. And I love behind the scenes of movies and games so I’m definitely gonna watch this.
The Grounded documentary for the first game blew my mind and cemented Druckmann as a visionary in my eyes. The way they talked about grounding a video game in as much realism as possible showed how strongly they believed they could elevate a game above its medium

I dont mean to be a hater but the game came out June 2020 and covid lockdown happened in March so like what are they on about? Was nothing done till the lockdown started?
They were still making the game in March, delaying it a few times up until it's release, so it was during the lockdown.
Happened at the worst possible time, at the back end of development. Hence why it was delayed twice, they had to finish it during lockdown. And couldn't enjoy any of the release or the awards it won thanks to COVID. So yeah, pretty big deal
3 months of working when covid was bad and they’re acting like the whole development was in that scenario lmao
The game was meant to come out in February 2020 but it got delayed then lockdown happened leaks come out and released it in June
Its just naughty dog patting themselves in the back again for making a sequel with copy-paste gameplay from its predecessor, and for one of the laziest and most horribly written story ever

No. They will release a documentary about the development of the game called "Grounded 2". The reason for the "2" is simply because they've already made a documentary about the first game, which they named "Grounded". I too, thought it would be an update for the game mode when I read the title, but then I saw the video and remembered.

I still think that you should play as abbie for the first half without telling the player that she killed joel so when it does happen the player feels more conflicted and has resonated with the character before hating her.
But that's the thing: you're supposed to completely hate her just like Ellie. That's why you don't get to know her early on. The game is about letting go off hate. Ellie's for Joel, Abby's for Ellie, Ellie's for Abby and finally a player's for Abby. For this idea to work the game had to be structured the way it was. Of course it didn't work on everybody but it never could. We're all different.

@@frogslayer181 And to me that's why it's just as brilliant as the first game. It's so rare these days to see a story that is not afraid to be a real story and not a product designed to please as many people as possible. Games are my favorite form of storytelling but they are still ages behind all the other ones in terms of what kind of stories we get. Almost all we get are the blockbuster kind of narratives that play it safe more or less. TLOU2 felt like a Cormac McCarthy novel, it reminded me of No Country for Old Men in particular with its themes and writing. I believe games desperately need more hard hitting stories like this with characters that are not action heroes but people like anyone. To me that's the final frontier for the games to reach. If Part 3 comes out, I hope it will be controversial as well and that it will once again push the boundaries of storytelling in games.

....if that's really how it went, it's only making me more upset about the choice. Please don't come at me about media literacy or lack of emotions or ability to determine what's real and what isn't. Just expressing my thoughts. Thanks. Lol
It's impossible that's all the thought it put into it though. Joel's wasn't treated like any other character's death, just not on the same level. Part 2 is all about Ellie going after Joel's killers because she feels guilty for ignoring him all those years. There's multiple flashbacks that feature Joel and Ellie, honoring their relationship. Joel is Ellie's motiviation throughout the entire game. If you played the game sorry you didn't pay attention to the plot.
My friend, I assure you I paid attention to to the plot. I'm just not exactly thrilled about what happened with Joel, or how it's being treated. I really wish people would stop running immediately to tell other people they only feel a certain way because they didn't understand the material. That's why I asked to not be called out for lack of media literacy. I have that. But I also have feelings, and that's okay. Joel is my favorite video game character of the all time, and his loss will affect me and others how it will.
@@risapierce5234 I get where you're coming from. Bad assumption on my end I just talk to a lot of people who say they despise the game despite not having played it. For me I see it like Joel was so ruthless in the first game, how can people expect his death to be any less brutal?
How about they show us PT3’s development instead.
