  • Efren Bata Reyes Best Shots, The Magician Greatest Shots
In one of Efren Reyes's most astonishing moments, which occurred in Vigo in 2010 during the Spanish Open, he seamlessly took someone else's cue stick while enjoying a drink. Without a moment's pause or removing his backpack, he walked to the table, demonstrating that he had already scouted the precise point for his shot in those few seconds. With a bag on his shoulder and a sandwich wrapper in his hand, Efren made the shot effortlessly. While it took other players minutes to figure out what to do, Efren, in a matter of seconds, effortlessly executed the shot, showcasing his incredible skill.

His uncle owned a billiards hall, where Reyes helped out by cleaning pool tables. He naturally became obsessed with billiards and spent many hours watching players make mistakes. It was these mistakes that he studied closely. He was also thrilled to see players make balls move around obstacles and into pockets. By age eight, Reyes tried his hand at billiards. He stood on crates of Coca-Cola to reach the table, and by age nine, he played his first-ever match with a money bet. When he was 12, he was already one of Manila’s best pool players. He participated in a tournament and won a cool $100 prize money. He kept $10 and sent the rest to his family.

Efren "Bata" Manalang Reyes OLD PLH (born August 26, 1954) is a Filipino professional pool player. A winner of over 100 international titles, Reyes was the first player to win the WPA World Championships in two different pool disciplines. Among his numerous titles, Reyes is a four-time World Eight-ball champion, a WPA World Nine-ball champion, a three-time U.S. Open winner, a two-time World Pool League winner, and a thirteen-time Derby City Classic winner. Reyes also represented the Philippines at the World Cup of Pool, winning the event with his partner Francisco Bustamante in 2006 and 2009. By defeating American player Earl Strickland in the inaugural Color of Money event in 1997, Reyes took home the largest single match purse in pool history of $100,000. Many analysts, fans, and players consider Reyes to be the greatest pool player of all time.[1]
