  • A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their employees. In our country, the minimum wage debate is the most contentious one. Members of Organised Labour walked out of the ongoing minimum wage negotiations, after both the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC rejected an offer of 48,000 and 54,000 naira as the minimum wage. The two-some described the offers as ridiculous. Would both the government and labour ever meet somewhere in the middle?

48k is an insult. Government urinating on Nigerian workers without the courtesy of calling it rain.

What exactly are they talking about. Maybe we should pay them 48k for the work they are doing. They have nothing reasonable to say, result to personal attack. Very sad

Mr Jamiu seems to be making personal attacks on the NLC president thus contradicting himself in his analysis. The issue is negotiation on minimum wage, not NLC and Labour. It is a shame that Mr Jamiu has not remembered that campaigning for election is over. Now is governance and the federal government is offering N48000. Mr Jamiu forgot that both NLC and TUC agreed on their proposal of N615000, but because Mr Jamiu is suffering from Ajaero derangement syndrome , he did not remember this.

I stop listening to this TVC many years ago bcz of there pure and one sided analysis.
    1. Do you judge Nigerian workers base on what Ajero will pay hes driver?
    2. Do you mean Ajero is asking for 615k or nothing?
Do you mean with the situation of things in this country, you will pay 45k a reasonable amount to that man driving you??
No wonder this country isn't getting better.
Mr Jamiu, 90bn is subsidized for Hajj by the same gvt and you're here telling us 48k habah fear God oooo

Mr Jamiu talked thrash. We all know TVC belongs to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and this is why you can't say anything reasonable. How much are you using for upkeep in your house ? N48,000 can't feed your dog and you are here condemning the NLC proposal. Your problem there is English language. Labour Unions proposed and they didn't say that is exact amount they want to collect. All of you three are biased without an element of truth in broadcast.
