      Yeah without Chanakya he would've been nothing.
      It's the truth so don't start bitching or don't cry about this in comment section.
      Edit: for the illiterate people, let me tell ya that Chandragupt was a true warrior and I know that but he was just a teen when Chanakya taught him fighting skills, life lessons, etc. So without Chankaya, Chandragupt would've been the person who is reading my comment

      @ivoxis8478 Před 3 lety +6

      Napoleon the first is indeed quite the character, and has the right to stand as one of the greatest king of western europe along Louis 14. But we might as well add others from other countries like Italy and the Roman Empire. The problem with Europe is that it's very small but very rich as well in term of history about different kingdoms so it's very difficult to say who's the best.
      I also think the video choose Louis 14 because he was a great king, but kept himself to western europe. Napoleon, Julius Caesar and even Alexander were conquerors who expanded their borders past what we could call west europe, so it might be simply ignored as it will falsify the ranking in other regions. That's why we ignored the British empire despite it owning territories on all 5 continents during a time.
      Alexander might be the exeption as despite his empire originating from west europe, most of it was located in eastern europe and north-east africa.

    Augustus the great of Rome & Cyrus the great of Persia !
    By far the best monarchs of all time since what they created lasted for generations to come not just for their own times or for a few generations.
    & neither are mentioned :""))
    Rome & Iran are given the title: *The two eyes of the earth*
    Without them the competition is a dull one.

    Don Pedro II was the last Brazilian monarch and certainly the greatest in South America. Even as a young man, he reconstructed a country completely drowning in crisis. Stabilized the economy. Brazil has never grown as much as it did at that time. He was loved by the people, Pedro II was neither an ornamental figure like the monarchs of Great Britain nor an autocrat like the Russian tsars. The emperor exercised power through cooperation with elected politicians, economic interests, and popular support. He was remarkably tolerant, rarely taking offense at criticism, opposition, or even incompetence. He was careful to nominate only highly qualified candidates to government positions, and he sought to curb corruption. He had vast administrative and military knowledge, so much so that he won all the wars he participated in. He appreciated and invested in culture and science, so much so that he was admired by Charles Darwin and Graham Bell. In my opinion, this man should be in the video.
