    This board has a switch next to RAM, which is pressed from the bottom shell and it activates the battery.

      yes the crazy back cover ... happened before but wasnt the battery it was the back cover itself not pressing down on that switch and figure it out by luck it was a stupid piece of plastic that will make the laptop dead

      i have a laptop i fished out of an ewaste bin a while back that was stone dead with the battery plugged in, this video got me curious and i checked with a multimeter, this stupid little switch wasnt working unless i pressed really hard on it so after bypassing it i checked each battery cell they were at about 2.9volts so i charged them manually to 3.6 and then plugged it in... my laptop happily charges the battery and runs with it! Thanks for sharing this

    Maybe that link from orange pin/wire continuation on motherboard is somewhere broked. At some point you can see where it goes that pin with a schematics. Maybe somewhere a chip disable the line to ground from that pin, and when battery died, that chip disabled line to ground from that pin.
    Maybe if you upload a new fresh bios, it will work without that bridge.

    Great and really useful video. The first actual 'shortcut' would be to literally Google the model and 'orange LED slow flash'. I don't know the model, but to me that looked like the laptop is reporting a battery problem the moment it started flashing. The fix, ingenious. But the first shortcut seemed to get missed. 🙂

    • @OnStageLighting
      @OnStageLighting Před rokem +1

      Provides good content for us, but no idea why a computer shop doesn't just see that fault indicator and order a new battery. Of course, that doesn't always fix the issue but I'd guess it's pretty much what 90% of computer shop techs would do first before putting it on the mobo repair pile.

    I have a similar issue with my acer laptop. But theing is that sometimes it'll charge fine. Sometimes the orange light will blink. Sometimes the orange light will never come on. Other times when it is charging just fine, and i just start a heavy application or connect my phone to my laptop to charge, it will start blinking again and the chargung will be improper. Could this just be a charger issue? Because i have noticed that when i try to adjust my power cord it may go from working to not working. And not working to working
