Unbelievable, just a week ago I had exactly the same problem, it was an ACER NITRO 5, the capacitor was short and I immediately removed it and the laptop worked, but the problem occurred when I turned on the charger, the light just flickered and it wouldn't start with charging but I was confused as to how it wants to charge with the power supply, I even asked a question on Discord and posted a video and pictures but no one helped me, in the end I was helped by my thermal camera which showed the first mosfet which was short , I replaced the duck and everything works perfectly :))

I had the same problem with acer predator Helios 300, but the capacitor got burnet and exploded and was obvious... I changed it and changed the power MOSFET too.. is it fine or I shouldn't have replaced the burnet capacitor? I don't want to face the problem again.

Maybe laptops are changing. Few years ago, standard Sorin’s repair was to bypass Mosfet with a wire. Nowdays this is out of question. So I wonder if it really worked back then, or maybe there were issues not tested like battery not charging etc.

I have a repair job that brought me back to school. It's an Acer N17C4 laptop with no fans! Yes it came to me like that and I thought that there was a short somewhere causing it to switch on briefly and off on its own again. I lined up possible causes to BIOS temp settings, which I couldn't find as they aren't there for it, so I'd feel the CPU with the back of my fingers to try and determine if it could be heating. It barely would get warm before power cutting off. Other symptoms are difficulty turning it on, even though it has the orange light for the charger, the blue light would only come on after bashing the keyboard. So while watching this video, at the part where you suspected it could be anything like the touchpad or keyboard that could have a short, I quickly figured that the keyboard's on button is stuck on always depressed, even though the key itself bumps up after pressing it. The minus key seemeed to be the new ON/OFF button, and I suspect some liquid damage to the keyboard. So I'd switch it on and quickly yank out the loose keyboard cable and it stayed on... problem solved. So I'm relieved it's just a faulty keyboard for my client.. You do have excelent troubleshooting skills going over each section and module carefully.

Power supply board of the unit had 2 PWM DC-DC convertors and one chip to control AC pump.
To make the story short a DC-DC converter responsible for LED light had a capacitor with impedance of 10 Ohms (it was a tricky one as I did not had power supply without protection). Once the capacitor was replaced the unit came to life.

Satellites and drones can examine the thermal status of a laptop, and some online free tricks can fully repair a bad, but still working laptop. One is the intelligence updates if Security Essentials , that is harder to install. The other offline solution is by discharging 10x in Windows, and discharging once in Bios. By repeating this more times, the laptop will become healthy and cool. For the first 5 rounds, you may experience nothing, because this solution is locked. Mine is just 2.1 Ghz, and at 1 Ghz it is a powerful pc at 50% cpu speed, and 333 mhz ram speed. The battery calibrates to 1 h 9 min . At performance mode, fsx is beautiful, nice landings, accurate manouvers, just like in real life, but the battery is calibrated to 35 min. All the new features were unlocked as I wrote it above. When a laptop is bought, about 20 elite features are locked in the battery’s eprom, and it needs a factory default battery to unlock these features. The default service battery management overwrites the elite features with a server, the software has to be deleted. It is a “curse” for laptops.
