I am 71....I have seen Pele in his prime, Maradona in his prime but this guy is complete player...What he does on the pitch is out of the world..Messi makes football rich...I pray from bottom of my heart he wins the world cup...Such a great ambassador of the game in and out of the field a real Idol for anyone..
Maradona was out of this world too... probably you should check the videos of his games again... he was strong and so energetic, a true leader... of course, Messi is the same... they were brought with the same love for football and Maradona always took care about Messi and taught him a lot and give him always his advice.. they both are the best of the world.

As an Australian, I never believed we would win but I did think we did better than expected. I think most people coming in would have said Argentina would score at least 3 or 4 times. Messi's goal really showed the class difference between these squads. for him to still have this sort of pace at he's age is impressive.

I have wanted nothing more than for Argentina to lift the world cup but I don't think they have the ability to do it đą it feels like they're missing something. They don't feel solid. They didn't demonstrate enough confidence against Australia as I would have liked. How are they supposed to beat Brazil and France? Actually the last 10-15 minutes of that match was excellent to watch. Arg the better team for most of the match, but Aust so nearly sent it to over-time. There was a run with maybe 5 minutes left (??) by a defender that could have been nearly best goal of the tournament, but a brilliant sliding stop. Enjoyed it. Go Argentina !!!!
