- This is my most recent Tambour project! It's been finished since I filmed this, but the process was incredible! Today we're covering transferring the design, choosing beads, transferring them from the hank to the working thread, and first stitches!

I don't need a cloth/ fiber arts rabbit hole to violently fall down, yet here you are, luring me in with patterns and shiny things.

I love how we lie to ourselves 😊
The more of your tambour embroidery I see the more I think I need to give it a try
More folks doing Tambour is the goal!!! I'll wear you down eventually ;)

25 years ago i was doing this by hand. Ive missed it, but my hands hurt. With this hook i might be able to do it without pain 😊 thank you
magnets! So clever!!
i was hoping this account would pop back up cause i had a sudden vision of an idea and just decided this is just the natural next step in my textile journey
The magnets for the pattern is the single most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen - you just changed my life
So that's what those strings of beads are for! Lovely!
never thought about magnets! good idea!
Omg! I never thought about usibg Frixon pens in the sewing room. Thank tou
Making things with your hands is so satisfying. I feel sorry for people who can't hold something up and say i made this today.
You are amazingly talented!
That is very cool. I've never seen anyone use one of those tools. Not that I need another hobby because I have too many hobby loves already BUT I definitely have to research that tool! This is an awesome skill you have. Thanks for sharing it!👍😊
Why is this so relaxing to watch? I used to embroider from 5th grade to my late teenage years. I miss it. It's beautiful and so is what you do.
I can't tell you how much I love this❤❤❤
I love talented highly-skilled people!!
This is such a cool technique, I've never seen this before, it looks amazing!
Glad you find it fun. The tedious process drives me crazy!
Looks so fun to do

You are just so amazing!

lovely
This is so cool!
Your work is exquisite! How did you learn or become interested in your trade? Love Susan
The problem with heat disappearing pens is that they reappear if it gets really cold.
They don't wash out later or break down/evaporate with heat??? That's so upsetting!
@@yuuri9064 they wash out in my experience, but don’t break down on their own
Wow ❤
❤❤
😍
Can you just do a video on getting the beads onto a string? I see a lot of these seed beads that I want to put on necklaces.
Pretty
I have had luck using just plain room temp water on the ghost marks. Will they come back if it gets cold? Idk. Assume if they do, they will be more faint as its water based ink
Where do you get those magnets? Also, I'm having an issue finding good quality tambour embroidery hooks/needles.
No Bonny. NO! You don't need to do this. Sit on your hands and watch the talented lady.
You have such a relaxing voice
Aw thank you! :)
Can you let us know where do you buy your gold beads . 🙏🏼 thanks
The beads for this fabric came from Shipwreck Beads in the US!
What is that thing called that you use to put the beads on ❤🕊
The Tambour embroidery hook I think is what you mean? if you click the related video link on this video it'll take you to the start of my 'learn tambour embroidery' playlist- the first video in that series covers all the supplies you need to get started!
I would say pass on the frixon pen as they are NOT intended to totally disappear on fabric..thats the manufacturer saying it not me.. instead go for Crayola ultra clean maker's..the work great
It depends on the amount of beadwork, but yes it does take quite a while!
Can tambour embroidery be done with an opaque fabric?
Yes! On anything you can get framed or hooped up (you need both hands to stitch) + can pierce with the hook. It's easier to learn on a sheer fabric like organza though, so that you can see what the lower hand is doing :)
Girl stop! I already have a job and about a dozen of hobbies!
I would love to learn how to do this..can you sent me a link to start with from your videos ?
Here you go! Here's the page for my "Learn Tambour Embroidery" playlist :) czcams.com/play/PLjH2hJYBT3xk6hnstunjFxZVSb2snQuOd.html
Keep in mind that if your embroidery will be in cold weather, your marks may come back
What fabric is the strongest for this?
Organza! I always recommend folks learn on silk organza because it's an excellent combination of strong and sheer, so you can still see what that lower hand is doing :) - if you like, there's more detail in my 'learn tambour embroidery' playlist :)
I think I'm a magpie
