I just had the crankshaft replaced in my 2011 coyote. It has a sleeved short block and all the good parts in it. Just got the car back, and I noticed a little bit of oil under a valve cover bolt. Where should I start? How can this be diagnosed and how can I be sure that a shop doesn’t rip me off? I’m not a mechanic. Thank you so much. 😊
You forgot to mention spark plug tube seals on valve covers where the head has a tube sticking out that goes into the valve cover. Sometime those seal are part of the valve cover and can not be replaced. It that is the case they only fix is to completely replace the valve cover
Permatex ultra black gasket maker silicone will do the job. Just make sure to let it cure 24hrs before driving. the only downside is the long cure time but it works
I please need some kind of way to get a plug out of the cylinder well Iv been trying with the socket I think it's stripped there is alit oil around the plug.
The satisfaction of seeing you destroy a valve cover by prying a screwdriver underneath it to demonstrate what would happen is amazing. I want to create a tutorial video on how not to install 2000 dollar video cards into a PCI-e x16 slot by shoving it in wrong and snapping half of the gold fingers off, continuing to shove it in, and going straight through the motherboard. I wouldn't stop there. I would continue pressing the video card into the center of the earth, causing all the volcanoes to erupt on earth at the same time, ending life as we know it. I will have the same amazingly stoic face you have and say, "This is what happens."
my valve cover has some signs of deformity maybe due to the overheating issue, does having a new gasket can fix the leak or do i need to replace the cover itself?
I replaced the valve cover gasket $260...and I see oil coming out of valve cover has a crack,I thought maybe that is the reason...crack was there before gasket replacement...I am so unhappy with the job...Wish you were in Miami,fl.
how.common is it for the valve cover to be cracked. I have a leak and that's what my mechanic says. Coincidence that the thermostat housing was cracked a few weeks before, same guy?
Head cilinder, repair by alumnium, and gasket changed and oil, also changed after that new coolant throw in, but it comes the milkey things, please help me?❤
He forgets some covers are made from plastic. Plastic warps over the years and will not ever seat properly and stop leaking no matter how many gaskets you use. You will need a brand new cover!.
Good info straight to the point and NOT LONG AND DRAWN OUT!
You are my go to channel now
Thank you for the heads up buddy
Great info. Thanks!
Awesome information , thank you for sharing your knowledge .
Thanks very attentive to details.
Good advice!
Good use of part to show why you mean
you also forgot to mention the tightening sequence. That's really important to ensure a nice even seal.
That’s what I learned today. Wrong sequence and it was leaking. 😉
Good video thankyo
Awesome

Would you recommend an aluminum valve cover over the OEM plastic? I found a Dorman brand and it’s for a 2016 f150 3.5
I got a valve cover at Walmart for $60...plastic Dorman. I see you maybe in the UK.Good luck anyway.

I have to wonder where the oil is coming from until I saw your YT explanation...how many more times I have to deal with this.

I recommend replacing the valve cover if it is deformed.

Ok I cleaned my surface with a little wire brush ….am I fucked now ? Or can I use a lil sand paper (high grit ) to smooth out the scratches
Head cilinder, repair by alumnium, and gasket changed and oil, also changed after that new coolant throw in, but it comes the milkey things, please help me?❤
Please take your car to the man above...he is the real thing.
They all leak
What do I do if valve cover gasket is too big
Get the right size gasket my Prince...
My mechanic definitely did a bad job. A few months later and it's leaking again. I guess it happens...
Might be excessive crank case pressure 😬
