    This has been the most informative video on the diesel I've seen yet. Thank you sir. I've been on the fence about the diesel for about a yr now and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the deisel. I have a 22 mile trip to work back and forth 6 days a week so I have no problem there. Thanks again. 👍

    You nailed it. Everything that is wrong with a diesel is government induced.

    I have a 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Sport with the EcoDiesel engine. I have have owned it for 3 years and have 53,000 miles on it. It has been a good, solid, reliable engine with great low rpm torque for offroad driving without having to up the rpms to go up a hill. It has plenty of power to drive up steep mountain grades on the highway with minimal downshift. I can put it in cruise control and go down steep mountain grades without hitting the brakes. I drove it for a year without any modifications except to put on offroad all terrain tires and then put a 2 1/2 inch lift and 33 inch tires. I averaged 25 mpg the first year and have averaged 22 mpg the last 2 years. It is my only vehicle but it is not a daily driver. Town is 13 miles away so when I go to church on Sunday or drive in for groceries, I am driving 20 miles one way. I drive it in the desert for offroad adventures. I have driven it to both coasts and from the the north border to the south border. I change the oil and filter every 5 to 6 thousand miles. I change the air filter and fuel filter earlier than the recommended intervals. In other words, I maintain the Jeep so it will last. Oh, and I, have an air compressor so I can lower and raise the tire pressure when I go offroad to minimize the impact of rocks and bumps off the tires and suspension. Gas or diesel, if you take care of your vehicle, it will take care of you. I love my Wrangler EcoDiesel and will be keeping it for many more years.

    My 2022 Rubicon Eco Diesel has been great I drive 28 miles to work and back 5 days a week I have 7k miles on it so far I received it in September of 2022 after waiting 5.5 months to be built but well worth it so much more power compared to the Gas Engine. My friend has a gas model and when we go out to the desert he can not make it up the the Sand Dunes with the Gas V6 he is wishing he got the Diesel now.

    I own a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon JL diesel here in the Netherlands that is equipped with an 2.2 eco diesel 4 cylinder engine. Great engine, super gearbox and great fuel mileage. 1000 kilometer with 80 liter diesel!! Greetings from the Netherlands

    I have a Ram 3500. Looking at adding a Gladiator. The diesel Gladiator is what I’ll be looking for. I bought my Ram new. Now it’s a completely different diesel. However it has almost 300,000 miles on it. I have had zero repairs on it. I just do the basic maintenance on the regular intervals. I have deleted it, which I think has been a factor of it doing so well. However diesels are far better in quality and reliability than gas engines in my experience.

    I bought a 2020 JLUD in November of 2020. About to have 70K miles and the dpf did fail around 50K miles. Was covered under warranty and that’s been the only real issue I have had. Love the power and fuel economy compared to other gas wranglers and gladiator and absolutely recommend the ecodiesel. Mainly to anyone that actually drives it more than 10~12 miles per trip minimum with longer trips on the weekends or take the long route to work from time to time. Do a 0-60 run on 35s or 37s vs the 2.0 or 3.6 gas.

    What did you do to your fenders? I like the look alot..

    • @GrayBeardoffroad
      @GrayBeardoffroad  Před 4 měsíci

      It's called a fender chop, I removed all the plastic under. Then you need special lights that will stabilize the weak plastic. I'm switching to steel fenders way more solid for branches and stuff.

    I like the fuel options of a diesel. In these "ify" times thats important. I call mine "farm equipment" so its deleted.

    Where I live, the dealers still have fleets from 2022 and they are lowering prices to sell those units and they have gasoline and diesel gladiators available. And the truth is I want to buy the eco diesel but with all those problems that I see about the fuel pump etc. I don't know what to do but I have to spend that money to buy the gladiator, be it gasoline or diesel. and I like the Willys model.

    • @GrayBeardoffroad
      @GrayBeardoffroad  Před rokem +1

      The fuel.pump isn't a big deal they have issued a recall on them and will replace them all. Actually if it is new at the dealership they should have gotten a new pump before they are sold.

    The whole point in owning a Jeep is to modify it, otherwise own a Chevy, Ford, or Dodge.

    • @GrayBeardoffroad
      @GrayBeardoffroad  Před rokem +3

      Modifications are okay, you just have to realize that they may need other modifications to correct the imbalance you just created.
