  • This is just my comparisons of the FPC & Response after using them both on the range. I also took some time to digest the information I received and put it all out.
I don't sell these or anything, just want to put my thoughts on them out there for others that may be stuck on which one to get....

being an S&W guy, I love my fpc. got it on sale at palmetto state armory. My red dot has held zero at 25 yards hand held. The recoil is much lighter than shooting the 9mm out of my shield plus. Almost feels like you're shooting a 5.7 out of a hand gun. Nice gun for the money with 63 rounds at the ready. would be nice if they came out with a 10mm.

What I really love about these two from Smith and Wesson is that they work right out of the box while some of their competitors need $100- $200 worth of springs, extractors, feed ramps and other parts just to make them reliable shooters

I’ve been watching some of your videos after I subscribed a few days ago and between what I already read about the S&W FPC I decided that later on in the day I’m going to go ahead and order it, I’m going with your choice on the optic the Vortex Strikefire 2 which seems to be a great choice, I went and checked prices at a few places and Amazon had the best price at $168 so I googled to try and find one of those coupon codes and low and behold I found a pretty good one for Palmetto State Armory which was a $80 off on the Vortex but their price was $200 and free shipping so after the discount, taxes and I paid a few extra dollars for that shipping insurance they have, anyway I got it for $131.99 after everything was said and done, I’ll continue to watch your videos and learn as much as possible on it, I’ll give it a good cleaning after I pick it up from my ffl, thank you for sharing those videos I appreciate it a lot sir, I hope you have a great weekend that’s coming up brother.

Good morning George, The buffer plug seems to be just fine so far. As for the muzzle device on the FPC, it is just a plain flash jacket from KA Industries. I most likely will change that to the KAW Valley Linear Compensator. I am very happy with the TACCOM Optics mount.

I had an issue with my Response. I could not clear an Underwood 147gr JHP from the chamber. Ejected the mag, pulled back the charging handle... and it wouldn’t budge. After some extreme effort, I finally got the bolt carrier to pull back to eject the live round. But not before the charging handle pinched my finger and gave me a nice black blood blister.
I’ve ordered a Breek Arms Warhammer and will be replacing the polymer charging handle on the Response ASAP.
In my opinion, the polymer charging handle is perhaps the weakest link with this fine PCC, and I can only wonder what S&W was thinking.
Regarding that 147gr round, I’m wondering if the Response doesn’t like that particular grain round. I’ve had zero issues with Underwood loaded Speer Gold Dot JHP rounds.

I always feel screwed over when a company puts out a product...FPC....and then after so many are sold....puts out dang near a replica of that product and it arguably is better than the first.
Second, it makes me wonder is SW going to let the problems the FPC has go unresolved?
Had I had the choice between the two, I as well would have gone with the Response. But now I dont have that option because unlike so many on here that can just go buy a gun at the drop of a hat, I have to factor in bills and eating.
Just FYI...Promag has a 32 round mag that will fit the FPC.

    • @hollowpointdefense
