One of Darius' college roommates looked like a Blowfish the other looked like an Owl, so they had those nicknames as friends of Darius and the band in college, thus the band stuck with that name of their friends and named the band "Hootie and the Blowfish". Yet Darius got called Hootie the rest of his life till this time periods when he broke out and made it on his own! Great Job DR!

Darius Rucker made me a pop music fan back when i was country and he somehow made me a country fan again after i got sick of country. I'm a fan of whatever that voice is singing.
Michael Tripp, not to be 'picking on you' , but this isn't what I would call country music....I've heard it called Blue Grass, Folk, etc. to me it's a mix of both with a little way before my time music I use to hear driving as a child throughout the south and southwest....Blue Grass Americana sounds right...but we do agree I LOVE THIS SONG and I am driving myself nuts listening to it (by old Crow and Darius R) for 3 days non stop...wish I had kept up with the violin (fiddle) instead I stuck to the keyboard (piano) and a bit of guitar, which for the life of me I've lost my touch. Plus cant sing! :(

Wagon Wheel is one of the most covered modern country songs , and I think Darius truly dose true justice to this song. Good for him, very happy to see him doing so well. Peace
