  • Now its the 800s !! The Weather has been worse in the UK than tis winter, and it still could be but its not been disruptive at times for crucial runs, and today is no exception. Still we are getting it done - sorry for the moaning in advance !!

    Wind can be such a pain when trying to remain consistent. I recently purchased a treadmill which I’m finding great for these sort of sessions….good for monitoring progress . Still good to get out for majority of runs and despite you looking frustrated with your session today it’s still miles banked and the effort put in will surely push fitness in the right direction. Look forward to seeing how you progress over next few weeks 🏃🏻‍♂️💪🤞

      Thanks Norman, much appreciate your comment. Glad you have a treadmill for the sessions when you need to. I have one (oldish Reebok TT) but I only use it for the steady runs, im not confident to run really fast on it 😁

    Matt, great job just to get out there and run the 800's. Consistency is key, effort builds better performance, and you are 💯 crushing your training. I understand wanting to compare track times, but you achieved your goal of a hard speed session!

    Looked like a great session still, it can be tough when not on a track and in brutal wind conditions. We look forward to more videos 🔥🙌

    Good session. Forget pace. Just focus on the effort. You’re making great progress but really analyse what’s worked well and what hasn’t from previous races. Come up with a plan for this one. You’re due a big result!

      Thanks Kenny, I'd love a big result 😀 it's good to have past race experience. Valencia didn't go down well because I was ill but I still think I was too cautious for the first 10k, maybe just the first 5k next time, still thinking, plenty time to plan and your ideas are welcomed.

    Tough session mate but it's the weather hampering your splits not your ability. I would measure your HR intensity and use that as a guide rather than go for pace targets. It's been so hot in Perth and we've had a run of 40c+ days. We run very early but It's still 30c by the time we finish. I don't stress too much on the paces but more on how much time in Z2; Z3 etc..... Good luck mate, under 10 weeks to Manchester!

    You really didn't enjoy that did you? Have you thought of using a treadmill for your 800s? You would get the consistent data if you used the same machine each time. No gels in this Vlog. It must have been a tough day!

      Haha didn't enjoy it yes but feel good after that I managed it and no gels yes 😂 I won't do the 800s on my treadmill, I feel too unsafe at speed, maybe the belts a bit small, maybe I could do it in the gym
