Is It Any Good?

- In my classic car world, summer is for driving and meeting people, winter is for restoring.
I've been contemplating for a while how I can keep the channel going in summer when the pace in my workshop is going down. This is what I'm coming up with: a new format of films, in addition to the restoration films on my channel.
Five minute features about cars. Car individuals. The style, the state, the way they drive, their history and whether they are any good. The restoration they were undergoing, the repair projects their owners have in mind.
A bit like a bunch of guys standing around a car with a beer in their hand and talking about it.

I like everything about this channel.
That’s such a cool comment, Michael! Thanks a ton.
Can’t wait for these videos! I love how in depth you’re videos already are, I have no doubt these new videos will be just as good!
I hope they’ll meet the expectations, Carl.
Many thx for the feedback!
Spectacular, Johannes - well done! 👍
Thanks, Jan!
Awesome, looking forward to the new type footage and format. Enjoy the summer and the driving.
Thanks, mate!
That’s what it’s all about!!! Keep it up…
It is! So much fun guys talking about cars …
Dude you are onto something good I love these videos! 🖖🔥
Wonderful news. Such a superb channel only gets better. This should be a great ride!!
Really love the mood and atmosphere you create in your videos. Background music is perfect. I sub to several channels and I find yours the most entertaining to watch. They are thorough while at the same time the projects seem accessible for a mere mortal if they apply themselves.
I also watch islandworks channel. He does amazing work too but I always come away feeling a bit depressed. I’ve invented parts for the firearms industry so no stranger to fabrication, but that guy is so hyper competent at everything (especially CAD, 3D printing and engineering) that I always come away saying well that was cool, but there’s no way that, as a shade tree mechanic I’ll be able to do that.
I already have a nice hot rod 911, but you’ve inspired me to get a project car going for my son who’s only eight now. So eight years until driving age. Gives us plenty of time to learn skills to build up a nice little car. Maybe another 911 or possibly a little Alfa.
Keep up the great work. Like the idea of featuring other peoples cars as well.
Man, thanks very much for the extensive feedback. Such an enormous joy to read this.
I’ve signed up to Islandworks the other day but haven’t yet seen enough to comment.
I’ve been working in the domain of sImulation and CAE my entire career and that’s I guess the reason why I’m looking for greasy fingers today.
Zen and the art of car restoration
Your comments really make my day, Hugo!
Best news today, absolutely fantastic content and presentation style also really looking forward to the new format.
☺️
Great teasing . looking forward to watch your videos

Thanks a ton, Mr. Freeman!
Beautiful cars and you do great work restoring them!
Thanks, mate. How’s life these days?
Looking forward to this series of videos.
Love it. Can’t wait!
Friday 1pm CET. 😊
Yay, patiently waiting for the work on the Carrera and the other projects you are sharing and have in store for us. We are visiting Germany in September and hoping for good weather!
That is good to hear! If your path will lead you to the South, don’t hesitate a second to drop me a note. You can find my mail address in the “about” section of the channel.
Wow, very cool! I take my hat off to you Sir, what a wonderful idea.
Many thanks, Skoerd. 🎩
It most certainly is !!!👏👍

@@GreasyFingers Yes, thank you. Everything is well. Looks like we'll get a new car in the garage soon, Series 3 Land Rover.
This is class .. respect.
Many thx, Ross.
Excellent I am looking forward to see new videos
Hope you gonna like them, Hannu.
Do it! Enjoy your work!
Yes Sir! 😆
Very excited to see what you have planned!
Thank you, Rodney.
BTW it appears we have a mutual friend. I had a chat the other day with Jan, the owner of the magnificent viper green Ölklappe, you can actually see us standing round his car in the film. He told me he had an eye on the car eventually ended up being yours. Rings your bell?
@@GreasyFingers Yes, I Jan has been following my build on pelican parts. He is very lucky he did not buy my car, it had a lot of unpleasant surprises under layers of body filler. His '72 is beautiful. Jan was very nice to also send me a lot of detailed pics of his car during restoration. I also love Viper Green. I'm torn between Viper Green, Signal Orange, and Tangerine. What is the English translation of Olklappe?
@@rodneynelson3862 Yeah, you never know what you find.
Jan‘s car is going to be featured in an IIAG in September.
Ölklappe means oil flap. Heard the German term in English publications so I thought you guys use it too.
Did I catch a glimpse of Flojo’s? Should be plenty of material for an episode with that car and that guy.
You did! Enough material for a trilogy and seven prequels.
Come visit us in Westerwald for our 911 Safari project! Almost done...
Good idea!
