The moment Michael left the show I realised that Michael Scott WAS the Office.
Of course the whole cast is amazing and hilarious but I don’t know, without Michael I wasn’t so interested in the show as I used to be.
It seems that he was the reason a very good show became a GOAT show.
The cast is awesome but every storyline on the show goes through Michael somehow. Phyllis’ wedding is a perfect example of this. It was centered on Phyllis and Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration’s wedding, but it was all about Michael and his need to be the center of attention.
I was enjoying the start of season 8, somehow compromising with the fact that they selected Robert California which didn't make any sense at all. And in the Robert California ruined it all. Or maybe writers did. I don't know who thought all those scenes in the last few episodes of season 8 are funny at all. It was pathetic
I actually stopped watching The Office when I learned that Michael will no longer come back in the show
agreed. the credits should have started rolling right after he took his mic off in the airport and walked off. and it's true what most people here have said, the whole cast was great (except for Nellie & Gabe), but every show goes through Michael somehow (as was stated previously by Mark).
As much as i loved Michael's character i disagree with you all. Still loved the show after he left, the new additions and there's more to the other characters to just end it when he left as if it's the michael scott show...

How can you not include the phone call with Mr. Buttlicker? That was some of the best acting, Also when doing conflict management and teaching about the win win win.
So many good parts.
I just watched the office for the first time, great show. But, the end of season 7 and the entirety of 8 and 9 feel empty without Michael. Andy is not good enough. Robert California is DEFINITELY not good enough. Gabe is atrocious. Nellie is slightly better but still under Michael and Andy. Everyone is just nothing without Michael.

I have watched all the seasons many many times and just like everyone else i thought the show ended when he left. After you watch all the seasons for about 4 + times he starts to be annoying af. He is good to laugh at but not laugh with.
@@olartio2185 yeah but he and Dwight are the only character with personality in this show, those two are funny, cringe a lot of times but pure (also andy until they ruined him), the rest of the cast doesn't really stands out, and I've watched the show 2 times and a half (stopped after season 5 to start watching new shows)

As an artist, I’m so happy to see people acknowledge how nice it was of Michael to show up to Pams art show. That part really touched me… Pam didn’t really ask much of anyone that I remember. But she invited everyone to her show, that was the only thing that was important to her. It was just so disappointing.
Michael has so many great moments....it's quite amazing
