- SpaceX’s first Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket launched the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on 11 May 2018, at 20:14 UTC (16:14 EDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. According to SpaceX, Falcon 9 Block 5 is “designed to be capable of 10 or more flights with very limited refurbishment”. Bangabandhu-1 is Bangladesh’s first geostationary communications satellite.

Absolutely brilliant ... I love how everyone at spacex still goes crazy when the first stage lands successfully.
I find it creepy like a a fascist dictator with it supporters having to public show affections, no way today it is purely genuine, herd mentality at the least
@@84MadHatter yeah sure basement boy
@@84MadHatter Go to school to learn what you are talking.
What is brilliant is how they got people to believe this BS...Lost camera then poof, it landed wow how amazing.
8:50 Lol what a rollercoaster of emotions
falcon 9 main stage just teleported
@@TheLaslol A lot of lag, they really need the Starlink
@@endergamesbr1322 Its not really lag, the viberations from the rocket is very intense especially when you are landing a rocket
@@endergamesbr1322 they did for CRS-22 booster, I believe. The feed is so much smoother now
LOL @ the crowd! Their rollercoaster reactions made me smile.
I love how much less tense space deployments have become with SpaceX. It's like a spectator sport now! :D
Love Bangladesh
ll Kasper ll not the nasa way🙂
ll Kasper ll I thought the crowd cheering made it seem kinda cheesy, that's just thought, not serious enough.
Yet another milestone.Great work SpaceX.Brilliant.
I get chills every time I watch these launches and landings. I had to move from Cocoa just over a month ago for a new job but loved being right there to see them happen.
CONGRATULATIONS Bangladesh from India(ISRO) for ur first satellite launching.
SpaceX 😘
😂
Awesome flight. As usual.
Aweful landing video. As usual too.
Come on SpaceX. Put an "of course I still film you" barge near the "love" one.
It's true. No matter the economic and technical priorities of each launch, most viewers are entranced by the stage one landing. That's the part almost no one else can do. Maybe a circling drone shot, launched beforehand from "Of Course..."
they cant do that do you realise the cost of that? and also do you know why they cant get a perfect shot of the landing on the drone?
Give this man a cookie!
Thats a beautiful idea, only no vessels are supposed to come near the barge. The footage itself is also not bad, but the connection between the barge and the mainland always goes down due to the tremors caused by the landing shamkng the antennas.
Thomas Wijgerse It's not transmitting to the mainland. The barge has antennas that are transmitting to a geostationary satellite; a tiny dot in the sky. Upon the rocket's decent, it gets shaken up substantially and loses it's hold until it has settled down once more. This sat serves as a relay back to the mainland.
Thanks, another step into the right direction.
Greetings to Bangladesh, I hope your satellite will service you well.

Congratulations SpaceX on sticking your 25th landing. Always exciting and never gets old.
Beautiful! Spacex is awesome! I love it. Something to be excited about in space travel is wonderful.
Great job SpaceX. It’s fun to watch the videos. Full speed ahead and looking forward to the BFR and much success in the near future.
thanks SpaceX.....
Good job Bangladesh for choosing the right company good job on SpaceX for brigning down the cost of space travel
Beyond sci-fi at this point. To do so far and return and land pin point exactly. Incredible.
Outstanding.... Great Job Everyone !
you guys and gals are making it look easy !!! Keep up the great work !!
awsome! gratz to bangladesh and all involved .
That was awesome. My first time ever watching a rocket land
We are waiting for the next one!!!!
Compliments to the guys describing events on this cast. They seemed exceptionally well prepared to help viewers understand what is happening and why. This hasn't always been the case on SpaceX casts. SpaceX needs to understand and appreciate that viewers likely instantly recognize when the talking heads don't fully understand what they are talking about or cannot clearly put it in perspective.

Congratulations agains & agains .The next landing will be perfect. We need to experince in certain. We have brain .This way is one of the best for using of our brains.
Bangladesh is improving!
Impressive everytime
Thanks from Bangladesh for uploading 😊

I'm paid an undisclosed amount from the US Government to tell you that this launch was real and that I was also paid to watch the holographic projection at LC-39A.

I was payed by God to tell you Earth is a Dodecahedron and Space travel is real to spread christianity
X-Fun 😋😝
Well done guys! keep pushing the future :-)
I will keep finger crossed for next and next and next....... Greatings from Poland 🙂👍
what a beatiful landing it is..! BD _Satellite-
Impressive everytime!
Curious to know what was causing the silver mylar or similar, just behind 2nd stage engine billowing?
Awesome !
What a beauty.
Mi reputo fortunato a vivere in quest'epoca ed assistere a queste cose!
GOD Bless America. How Amazing!

Brilliant!
I love Rockets ♥️
Tnx
They are up in space so fast! It looks so easy🙂
The new era of space flight
Wow amazing
Very nice..
Good job 👏👏👍👍
The only video I came across with Zero dislikes 👏👏
Bangabandhu goes out with a bang.
Congratulations
Don't know the payload weight but I've never seen a fisrt stage separation at 8133km/h. This version is clearly more powerful.
it was 3600kg if i remember right
The excess of speed is because of the geosynchronous orbit (30000+ km altitude), and it is not necessarily related to the mass of the payload.
Alex Bergantini : I have to disagree on that, it's not the first time SpaceX launch a geosynchronous payload and the first stage never reached that speed before separation. I remember an >8000Km/h separation but it was a non recoverable first stage. Here we have 8133km/h seperation and still enough fuel to land back on the drone ship. For me this is the first evidence of the additional power the Block 5 was expected to have. This is very encouraging for the future, it's a total success once again.
I think Elon said it has 8% more thrust
So cool to watch 👍👍
Well done.
I'm proud
Best of Luck Bangladesh
Bangladesh. Satellite..amazing
Why doesn't SpaceX update the video without the transmission failures? Don't the rocket cameras save the video files?
My love my heart my Bangladesh.go ahead bangladesh.
Can you show the video from the Memory Cards on the rocket and the barge ? The Memory Cards will have less drop outs than the radio link ! Does SpaceX have more cameras that you can show video from ? tjl
Incrível!!!!!!!
Block 5? Thought the Bangabandhu was a Block 4, after all I heard talking about block 5 only weeks after the launch
Space X should have a remote drone that takes off from the drone ship to capture the landing from a distance.
no shit sherlock. the drone would be blown away due to high pressure of firing rockets.
Really clever
Very nice technology
*neat*
Bangladesh ....LOVE

thank you
There are people who want to watch worldwide TV. Why is this useless?
Где полное видео, как она села ?
Bright day on the history book, next great chapter of space flight, pushing human race forward.
Block 5 is gonna be so much cooler and easier to reuse with the heat resistent areas (black areas) and those heat resistant titanium grid fins. So much easier to reuse
Even after 3 years I still can’t believe we can now land boosters
I feel like I'm watching Wimbledon with the commentators

I like what they do, and I am a big fan of Tesla and Nikola Tesla also, but think the same about why can't, want, or fix the landing part to be live and visible and to make sure it is not cgi or fake etc. If you go back and check all the landings. You can find a live stream when they say it is live and the two boosters landed on the same colored dark x circle, with falcon heavy.
But they said we know it looks like exactly the same, but the two side of the live stream video is coming from the left and the right side of the falcon heavy rockets so it is for sure not the same. Then, they did edit the live stream, and fixed that problem. When nobody can edit live stream. Because that is not live anymore...
So it did not look like they landed on the same place. And if you check more video out. They say, we don't have wifi over the ocean, so the signal can go off. And 3 sec later it does. And one time they said they don't know what happened with the central part, when live at the background you could hear that we lost it. And they did freeze and said everything is ok. Haha. When the control room said they lost it. And at the end they say everything went fine just they planned. One day later they say no, they lost it. Lol. Or when they planned to have the first of this launch, they said that i think after the Falcon took it over, they have to cancel the launch. It stopped. But the stream went on for another 30 mins. And they did say maybe it can count down again. Or they wanna know why it happened.
Lol. It doesn't matter, we were here to watch the launch not the whys. And then of course again like lot of time they show lose signal. Than comes back. Then lose again when it is on the drone ship. Haha. Good editing and good timing for the signal to cut the only interesting part out how it did land. And it is like before picture, and after when it is landed still. Yeah right. they have wifi and signal with 10.000 km/h but not with 500 km/h when landing. That is not true.
And they can have wifi etc signal boosters, a ship, a guy with a satellite phone to live stream it like even facebook or youtube. Rent a drone, buy a drone etc for cheap. But with that budget they have they can't show that, what is the main reason? Like to be able to reuse these rockets.
Joke again. If it would be good landings and clear landings they would be happy to show that live. Cuz it would give everybody the feeling it is worth the money. But they have enough problem with the cars. And late arrivals. Recalls. And not good quality. Crash etc.
So they can't afford to show that they might fail. Or they still fail with landings. But the drone ship has capability to navigate etc. Have connection. But can't use GoPro cams etc. Or a cheap drone could fly close to that to take live feed from another boat. Etc... It doesn't matter cuz we do not see the main part. And will never see. Just a maybe late video. Or maybe green screened. And be happy about it. Believe it. And buy more stuck. Just cuz the company who need the money say so. Lol. That is a big trust.
The only one who can lose is them. So go ahead, of course they cheer like they did it right. They don't wanna lose their job, and lose contract. Or get out of the business. Just because they can't land the parts right, what they promise always. Which is the only thing why everybody is interested in them. To be able to reuse that parts, and get cheaper because of that. But if that is failing, than the whole space x program fails. Because others like Russia can take up people and come back land etc. And not crash etc. Or take up a lot of payload to ISS etc.
Ps: english is my second language, so please keep that in mind. Thx.
USA 🇺🇸 #1 👍🎉🎊🥰🥰
What is that you can see in the horizon, right below the engine at 8:13?
its literally frozen nitrogen falling off, not a mouse (like flat earthers say). its ice. while yes the engine is burning hot not to far away the turbopumps (basically the engines guts) are super cold, the rocket is cryogenic (basically means they use cold fuels) u can see some vaporize when it falls off and gets near the engine (also to note that feed is the second stage of the rocket, falcon 9 is a two stage rocket, stage 1 is the rocket booster that lands after sending the second stage to orbit with the payload ontop the second stage. second stage after separating from the first stage heads to orbit (space and orbit are different) tldr orbit is spinning around earth from space so u dont fall back into earth. stage 1/first stage heads back to earth, does a reentry burn then a landing burn for landing on the ship or a landing pad (depends on mission profile) second stage doesnt land, its sends the payload to space, then it deorbits and then reenters earth atmosphere and burns up (after separating the payload as the payload stays in space, and the second stage is deorbited then burned up on reentry to prevent space trash)
Is there a n applause sign mounted on the wall at SpaceX.?
No, they're just the people who designed and built the rocket, and whose livelyhoods ride on weather or not the launch is a success.
Little man and his team did it again. (I know he's like 6'4, it's a way of making emphasis on his achievements)
Now we got ourselves a new space shuttle
The Bering Strait can be freely navigated.
6:23 to 6:42 is why people think the earth is flat xD
Could you explain more
I want to know if they just switched feeds for the landing.
What does that mean? Can you explain pls?
Why doesn’t the first stage need a heat shield like the Apollo capsules? What is the science behind the two ways of re-entering the atmosphere and why didn’t Apollo use larger rocket engines to slow down enough to preclude the need for a heat shield?
Well, it does have some degree of thermal protection, but the big difference is that this rocket is reentering the atmosphere from a much lower altitude at a much lower velocity, thus there is much less friction and less heat is generated.
👏👏👏👏👏
I'm surprised the Space-X crew still get so excited when things happen as they should, which they've made the norm. By now, I'd expect polite applause and "Why, yes, we did it again" attitudes.
This is the 1st flight of a new version of the falcon-rocket.
26k km/h 😱😱 that thing moving fast
What's that?
ROCKETS ARE COOL
yes!
Илон молодец!
What is Block 5?
Why that heartbeat in the 2 stage? 🤔
What’s the silver foil for ?
regular people keep calling it foil, it is not, its some aerospace grade material they use, its for thermals
Why is the telemetry showing stage 2 at the beginning? XD
5:11
"of course I still love you"
Its landing ships name
That first stage is several meters of center at the drone ship! ;-)
Perhaps you have never heard the rule that "perfect is the enemy of good enough"?
That's what I thought as well in order to finally stop my mouth from gaping :D
I think the winking emoticon shows what John actually means.
Or possibly, the drone ship is several meters out of position. There is no way to tell. " Very special relativity. "
sexy landing
I don't see any landing on this video. It missed the most important thing. Please try again.
