    Just got my v4, you’ll love it. Just like you said, having it in an all in one unit is so much nicer. Just the one hopper to fill and empty, no setting the meter on the thrower, not issues with the trickler tube getting dirty and creating issues since this one has a toothed belt and feeds from the end, it won’t get caught up on kernels since it uses just tubes, it’s even easier to dump powder out when you’re done, etc.
    This was a great video and a good comparison of the two. The v4 will just make it that much more of a no brained on which one is best. And you can still get the whole v4 setup with the fx120i for under $1000 if you shop around.

    I've always had to run my MM on disp1 for any stick powder, especially now that the app has been upgraded. Before I was able to put in a custom config and modify the throwing config. I haven't figured out yet how to do that on the new app, but I havent exactly looked for it either. I have found the MM will drift a little after about an hour and I have to either recal or turn it off and back on then recal. I still think its a great throw and if RCBS puts in a little more development it will be hard to beat it for the price. I hate the bottom drain, but I deal with it. I despise the static that builds up in the res, but I deal with it. I do that to get equal performance without a complex setup and needing to purchase then wait months for an AT or a Prometheus.

    I don't have either of these to know for sure how it works, but I just saw Keith Baker on part 2 of the Reloading All Day podcast say that you can adjust the speed settings in more detail on the app for the Matchmaster. It seems like you can change how far below aim that it stops using the big one which I would think speeds it up without the overshoot.

    I’m throwing charges in 10 to 11 seconds with my V3.
    Adjust your bulk throw first then the tilt on the Trickle and then find tune with the speed setting.

    Does the Matchmaster allow programming powder type for accuracy due to different minimum amounts dropped due to individual kernel weight? Great video👍👍

      There is only 4 powder dispensing settings that I know of. I tried 1 and 2, but had to use 1 (the slowest) for H4350

      @@stricklyreloading8494 There are an infinite number of settings. You can go into the mode settings and change all kinds of settings about tube turning speeds, pause in between turns, etc. I can throw 40 grains of H4350 in 10 seconds on my matchmaster.

      I’ve gotten my MatchMaster set to dispense my charge in roughly 18 seconds. I’ve had very few under/over throws. It did however take time to get the spindle settings dialed in.

    Correct me if im wrong, but when you say the autotrickler is $960 I'm assuming that doesn't include the price of the scale which is around $700.

    The powder hopper dump on the Matchmaster was the major thing that turned me off of it, seemed completely illogical to have to move the scale around to do it. Struck me as if it is a lab grade instrument it shud not be moved around any more than absolutely neccesary. And now that the V4 is out, it really isn't a contest.

    I can not believe I spent $300 on a 8 lbs of H4350. Edit: On my A&D EJ-54D2 it is so sensitive I have to wipe my calibration weights off before I weigh them otherwise the oils and excess dead skin from my hands put weight over.

    NINE HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS ❓❓❗❗❓❓ 😮 I haven't looked into them in a long time, but holy shit ! I use a $50 Smart Weigh jewelry scale.
    Last time (2015 'ish) I looked at an RCBS Chargemaster, they were $350-$400 USD (~$500 Cdn). I knew the price had likely crept-up a bit, but... 🙄
    To be completely honest, my Lee Powder Thrower that came in the Challenger Kit is almost as fast & accurate as any electric-powered trickler. Effort is negligible.
    It might take me a few minutes longer vs these machines to load 100 cases, but the $1200 Cdn for this MatchMaster is completely ridiculous... 👎🏻

    • @stricklyreloading8494
      @stricklyreloading8494  Před 2 lety +1

      They do still make the Chargemaster line for much less money. This is the newer “MatchMaster” line. Thanks for watching!
