    The skeins with the most Sand Dune would make a beautiful shawl to wear for evening walks on the beach.

    This is such a lovely colorway! Reminds me of a starry night or a galaxy. I'd love to mimic this at home but with some resists to preserve some white pops of "stars"! Your videos always lead to such fun inspiration for me ❤️

      Use some thread and tie tiny sections at a time. the ChemKnitsDyeAlong from Nov 2018 shows a bit about how I tied that off. I plan to do that kind of colorway again for 2020.

    I spoke too soon! Seeing these washed and dried I think more of puddles and cloudy skies!!

    Love it! When I opened this one, I thought it was the blue version of last night's yarn. Need more of this one for socks, too. ;)

      It is amazing how similar some of the different techniques end up looking - isn't it? :D

    Really like the peacock blue and the aqua together

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 4 lety

      I'm so happy with it. There is always a bit of a risk picking two blues or greens to use with dry powders because it could feel like one color versus two. But these are great together.

    This is my new favourite thing to watch! I wish i could do this at home

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 4 lety

      You can! ;) In all seriousness, I film out of my kitchen with a lot of cleaning to go back and forth. I started my dyeing journey with food coloring and wool based yarns. (The majority of my older videos feature food coloring!) It is a fun way to play around with it. This exact technique won't really work with liquid food colorings, but a lot of other techniques translate really well.

      This is for sure one of my favorite techniques. I think that if I were to dye for the shop (versus for the videos) then I would have a whole line of yarn with this technique.

  • @adalai7649

    Love this yarn and the bonus...beautiful colors. I confess that I would not have expected the resulting color from the colors you layered...totally gorgeous....on another note, have you noticed that the title of this segment says "night 7"? 🥰

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 4 lety

      Yikes! Correcting this now. This is what I get for copying part of the title from the previous night and not double checking! Thankfully this was the one night I knew where it would go so I said Night 8 a lot in it... but whoopsie!

    Hello. I am experimenting with dyeing bison down. I had a pot of dilute red then I added blue and citric acid. I’m going to see if I can change the natural brown. 🤞🏼

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 4 lety

      Awesome! I have a dyepot weekly where I overdyed a natural brown with a bunch of different colors. I broke wilton's violet on it and it was awesome. I've never dyed bison before, though.

    May I ask what you can do with the mini skeins?

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 4 lety +2

      Great question! Some people collect minis for remnant blanks (bee keepers quilt is one that I've been working on personally). I plan to use my set for some striping fingerless mitts I think.

      These have already sold, unfortunately. All of the yarn from the 2019 Chanukah special was turned into mini-skeins and set off before the series aired.

    Major anxiety watching you put all those littles in without zip ties or something to keep them separate. 😱

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 4 lety

      I was nervous, too! Thankfully the minis have a lot of ties on them (from the manufacturer) so it wasn't an issue to separate them. Phew!
