There is some snappy percussive envelopes in this synth that I have not noticed before this video. Originally impressed by the big pad ambient sounds of this synth. But the number 1 reason is the 4 layer (4partial) 8 stage envelopes editing with tactile controls that has this a must buy on my list, and first on the list or next synth I buy....unless I can't get one because they are unavailable and being sold out.

Wow you people expect a $3000 analog synth for the little monster JD-08, man these are terrific and go for only $300 !! I guess this generation just thinks they deserve everything for free and dont know what it is to work for there money to buy things.....smh.

Ciao Stephan.. circa 15 anni scoprii floop ed il mondo dei vst. Abbandonai le mie Gem e mi diedi al virtuale. Dopo due anni ho abbandonato i miei lavori per studio. Con i tuoi video mi hai restituito la voglia di suonare ma questa volta vorrei hardware reali, da toccare, da giocarci. Vorrei cominciare prendendo il roland jd, la cobalt 8 e novation bass station.. ci vedi una sovrapposizione di potenzialità?? Grazie di tutto
Ciao conosco tutte e tre le macchine e sono molto diverse tra di loro e non si sovrappongono io valuterei bene il jd 08 perché è molto carino ma non è un jd800 vero che ho anche quello....

Prima di fare l’acquisto vorrei capire se fa al caso mio considerando che la utilizzerò con Logic.
Quindi ti chiedo:
1) usandolo con Logic in una traccia midi, troverò tutti i parametri fisici presenti sulla macchina per eventuali automazioni?
2) se in Logic avessi bisogno di più tracce con parti e patch diverse, ho bisogno necessariamente di “convertire” ogni traccia midi in audio per poter lavorare sulle altre? Oppure avere più dispositivi Roland (cosa un po’ improbabile)?
3) se parto da una patch esistente e poi la modifico, c’è possibilità di salvarla in un file esterno da poter richiamare all’occorrenza o devo per forza sovrascrivere quelle esistenti? Non ho capito bene la gestione/salvataggio delle patch.

1) essendo uno strumento midi tutti i parametri possono essere automatizzati con i classici parametri midi CC "Controller List" che vanno da 0 a 127 in sostanza controllano 128 parametri diversi dello strumento puoi trovare di tutto dal cutoff alla resonance alla sustain al volume alla selezione dei suoni . di solito quando registri se muovi qualcosa appare sotto la traccia di automazione se entri dentro puoi modificarla
2) devi necessariamente trasformarle in audio.
Puoi lavorare su più tracce midi fino a che le note non sono giuste insieme, ma poi devi registrale in tracce audio diversi
3)Utilizzando i messaggi sysex puoi salvare le tue patch sul computer utilizzando software come midox

2) io penso che basta tenere comunque la traccia midi di ogni parte di synth (pad, solo, arpeggio, ecc.) in modo da poterle eventualmente modificare all’occorrenza. Diciamo che per il playback del brano nella daw, si può suonare leggere una traccia midi per volta e le restanti devono essere lette come traccia audio (pur tenendo parallelamente le partiture in una traccia midi). Come si farebbe con una tastiera esterna del resto.. Ho capito bene?

I've heard decent EP and AP examples on some of the demo videos. It will definitely do a better job of acoustic pianos than any FM or Analog synth. Not as convincing as a sample based instrument though.

ciao ! non sono mai stato amante della serie boutique della roland con quesi tasti cosi piccoli e le ho vendute tutte avevo un tb03. 08, ed una 09, del jd cosa mi consigli di fare anche se dal video credo che non sia propio adatto al mio genere musicale (trance,EDM) grazie
Ciao Decisamente no un boutique lo prendi quando hai già un bel set di synth e vuoi qualche suono in più classico vintage pop 80/90 …no la trance no meglio che ti trovi un roland sh201 usato al prezzo che lo paghi spacca!
What is your opinion on JD 08? Is it sounds even half good as real deal or its not so good recreation? It sounds very close to me, but somehow more lo fi, with less low end and high end detailes. Kind regards.
Hi . it's exactly as you said .. it's close to it's similar but it's obviously not a jd800 especially you can't put all the expansions of the jd 800 you're a little limited to the presets that I've been told about factory. if it's little budget it can be a good choice if you can spend

It's the exact same synth engine. The JD-800 was a digital synth so this boutique isn't ACB like most of the others. So the only thing that will be different in terms of sound are the converters for the outputs
@@rorz999 It do not sound as good as real deal thats for sure, i`m aware of DAC and other things related, but tone is just not there. Lack low end and high end at the same time. As i already stated sort of lo fi version of JD800.
@@DadoSimicStudiostriver original would have had early 90s discrete line output circuitry and archaic DAC, way more sonic beef in old tech than this little digital thing. the filters in this are also new, not original, run it through a couple of toasty analog gain stages and a little EQ and it's 99% there. just running a boutique through a preamp and channel strip gets you back to hot line out tone
Purtroppo sto guardando il video distrattamente a pezzi un giorno si e uno no (causa bimbi piccoli)... E purtroppo sono anche alle primissime armi, quindi volevo chiedere dove ha l'ADSR...l'interfaccia sembra intimidatoria e caotica. Inoltre va bene per retro synthwave anni '80 (bell, pads, e-piano)? Inizialmente ero indirizzato verso il jx08 ma pare un po' one trick pony (monotono e ridondante nei suoni) mentre questo sembra più versatile ma più complicato e anche più orientato alla dance anni '90. Confermi?
dunque se la tua intenzione è fare synthwave meglio il ju-06 il jd 08 imita la sintesi del jd800 digitale e abbastanza intrigata per un neofita a differenza Di un semplice analogico con un oscillatore filtro e adsr..suono tipico anni 90 , ma suonandolo non è affatto uguale a un jd 800 meglio il plug in Roland jd 800 a questo punto.ciao!

Mine doesn’t appear to work. Arrived today, connected to Korg Krome via MIDI and there’s a horrible monophonic sawtooth behind all patches which will not go away. I’m so disappointed!
The korg Krome when playing plays multiple midi channels together so in addition to playing the patch it also plays more on other midi channels of jd 08 . this is because the chrome patches work with more sounds together on multiple midi channels. so it is not enough to put local off on the chrome but you really have to create a mute preset on

Yes in fact it is inspired by the sound of the jd800 but it is not a jd800 absolutely I tell you because as you can see in the channel I have an original one. Hi.

The Real Jd 800 are The Best
...and me, I was going to order this today. I always wanted a jd800. But tbh that was 15/20 years ago I wanted one. I would say maybe 1 or 2 sounds I would find useful now. The rest no. Kind of sad in a way.

le soluzioni con quel budget sono 2 o ti prendi un boutique ju-6a o ti abboni a ROLAND cluoud e ti scarichi il mondo intero vst tipo Jupiter , Juno 106, Juno 60 e promars e vai alla grande.....
