- Argo 8x8 With Tracks Mudding at Hog Waller 2/20/16. First time out with new Adair Pro Series 14.5" Tracks when I Blew my low end on my tranny back in the woods. Lost reverse too later. Decided best to turn around while I still had high gear and head to the trailer. Extremely happy and impressed with the tracks. Just wish I had been able to test them more. Next time! :) These tracks handled everything in the big mud pit like it was nothing while everything around me was getting buried. The tracks make the vehicle swim way better in water too. Machine is still in the shop getting worked on and no telling how long till I get it back. :( BUMMER! Looks like I'll be missing out on Hog Wallers April fools weekend events.
Argo and sherp , with or without tracks are the best
Always wanted to try an Argo. We have the perfect terrain for a beast like that. Would be unstoppable! Fun video! Thanks for sharing!

Missed you this weekend !! Had to show off All by myself !! LOL. We had a great time. wasn't as much water as I hoped for, But enough to flood one of my 4x4 ATVs. Argo did awesome. My Hustler even did great. Ohh, Just so you know. Every evening after 5pm, They open the Main Pit up to all ATVs, So you can play for a while in there before it's dark. Gotta make some Cleats for my tracks so I climb out of holes better, But besides that. I'm happy with my tracks.. Hope to see you there one weekend. Would love to go riding with you down in Holipaw if you can take friends. We have the Argo 8x8 and her Hustler 6x6 so let me know. thx...
Hey worked till late on Fri. slept in and watched Ga/Fla. I was going to go down on Sun but decided to go hunting instead. Last weekend for black powder. Shot a 175lb sow. Mmmmm Sounds like you guys had fun.

I about died laughing when I realized they didn't have 4 wheel drive. I told him to unhook my cable that he had no business being out in the big pit muchness any where else where we were.
Hello, We have a Argo Conquest 8x8, Also have a Hustler 6x6. We live in Ocala National Forest but it's VERY limited to where we can ride. We would love to meet other people with AATVS and go riding on a regular basis. We hit Hog Waller all the time. Hope to see you there sometime. We just ordered a set of Tracks for the Argo. We will be at the Waller this weekend (Halloween Weekend) with both of ours. Gotta brag a little here. But. Want other AATVs to go riding with because it's no fun when you DOMINATE every Regular ATV around you. . There's nothing better that a Argo !!
I've been to Hog Waller a few times. Now that we have had a ton of rain it ought to be really good. Unfortunately I will hunting Sat. Might be able to go Sun. What tracks did you decide on? I run the Adair Pro Series and LOVE them! After tracks, Forget it! I have tried and tried and haven't been able to get it stuck. And yes it is more fun with other multi wheeled AATV's. Have you heard of Holo Paw? It's in central Fla.
I plan on building a custom set of Tracks, So just went with a set of Stock Argo Plastic Tracks for now. I've Built several sets over the years. Also, With bolt on cleats the plastic Tracks work very well. . We plan on staying all weekend at The Waller, So hope to see you there. You can't miss me, I'll be the one running thru everything while 4 wheelers just watch. Lol. Heard of Holy Paw. But it's a little far. Never been. But would if I knew you would be there. Ttyl.
I would have recommended the Adair tracks. The plastic tracks will come off if your not careful. And they are really wide which can be a problem running back in the woods. There are several places that I have gone back into that the trail got so narrow and there was a barbed wire property boundary fence right on the edge that I got hung up. And mine are 14". To bad the main pit won't be open for SxS's & ATV's. I rode through it and didn't get stuck while a lot of other SxS's & ATV's were buried. all over it.
So, if I want to run tracks full time with 500-600 pounds of people do you recommend the Conquest?
The conquest is a good choice. If you wait they have the new 2020's coming out. The new models have the ability to turn like an ATV. I would definitely recommend the Adair Pro Series tracks. They are far superior to the Argo tracks. I run in deep heavy mud way back in swamps you name it and have had zero problem with them.

Argo Avenger. And it will run at 23 mph on land and 3 mph in water. My buddies who the hopped up side sides laugh and tell me to keep up. Until they get sunk in a mud hole and I finally catch up drive around them and keep going laughing. Yeah I don't get stuck at all in this thing. Especially since I put tracks on it.
Do you know the cause of the low end problem? Is this a common problem with these or was there something odd that caused this?
Yes I do know what caused it. It was the 2 previous owners not knowing how to shift it between gears. You have to allow the motor to slow to an idle and come to a complete stop before changing gears. As with anything...Right? The tranny was rebuilt and it runs better than before. Thinking of selling her.

Yes sir! And I would not suggest a Mud Ox since they are hard to find someone who will work on them. Another guy on here has had several Argo's and then switched to a Mudd Ox. He shortly after getting the Mudd Ox sold it and got another Argo. His name is Dan. You can find him on here if you have questions. I know he'd be more than happy to help you with your'e decision. Love my Argo! In fact I have been wanting to sell it and get one of the new ones of course with tracks.

Yeah I realized that he had only 2 wheel drive. At that point I had them unhook me and off I went. I wouldn't have even bothered if I had known that. IDIOT for going out in the mud pit in 2 wheel drive.
Yeah when I realized he was a 2 wheel drive only I told him he was idiot and shouldn't be out there. He deserved to be stuck. SMH
@@silenceofthehams6902 lol I had a guy flag me down for help and he wanted me to tow a plastic bucket full of beach rock up a slope. The whole container was plastic and at the time I had an 89 6 wheel argo and one touch of the throttle I turned around to see If It was up the slope and the plastic container thing was upside down and beach rock was all over the place lol. it turns out He took a 2 wheel drive atv with a wooden trailer full of rock and couldn't get it back up. sorry for the late reply I had no idea you commented back Its much appreciated! nice talking to ya
@@silenceofthehams6902 I also went out for a ride recently and seen 2 atv riders trying to drive through thick sand. I got stuck there before when the shearpins on my older argo broke and know how deep and hard it is to get unstuck. I headed there direction when I seen them get unstuck only to turn around and proceed to go right back to the sand and get stuck again. I turned around as I'm not going to go get somebody unstuck just so they can turn around and go right into the same spot they got stuck in before. I looked behind me and noticed they got unstuck and then try to drive up a cliff. once his front tires were touching the cliff and his atv was facing the sky I think he realized how stupid it was and backed his front 2 wheels of the cliff. Just having the idea to attempt something stupid like that shows how some people think they can do anything and really deserve the outcome of their actions. I bet you that guy learned real quick from getting stuck like that and won't go back there again lol. anyways once again thanks for replying I wish you the best out there.

Hey all I can say is, Try it and you will see why. Once you do and you start to explore the remote regions that most can't and the comradere you have with others out doing the same you'll get it and be hooked. Major major fun!

Oh yeah! They have great financing. I had to search & search for awhile before I came across this one. I got a great deal on craigslist. Since I bought it I have upgraded all of the axels and bearings to the HD ones. Replaced the middle chains and added the hood scope which is not shown in this video. I installed the winch bumper & brush guard and added the Rigid Industries D2 lights and switched out the stock bulbs on the stock lights with HID bulbs and ballasts. And eventually I was able to add the tracks and do all of the installation myself. There entry level is the Frontier. 14,000 and some change. But it has a 23 HP motor. Mine is a 26 HP motor. The top end HD's have a 31 HP motor. I'd say if you buy one and you want to go used get one that is 2012 or newer. Mine is an 06 and I know they changed the transmission in 012. Once you get one your going to LOVE it! And definitely put the Adair Pro Series tracks on it. I can literally go any where now without getting stuck. And yes I have gotten stuck before.
I'm in Nebraska and want to use it to get to my many fishing spots on rivers and lakes....thanks for the info....we will see what happens
+Kirk Niles there are several videos of guys doing just that. Going way back in the back country in Canada and anchoring up and fishing from there Argos. They will use a 9 hp motor to get around the lake with. There also great for duck hunting.
look at the mudd ox .. the argo are cool but the mudd ox are like twice as big

+Scott Hayes NO! :( I had to take it to Dade City to have it worked on. The guy couldn't get to it right away. He FINALLY has it on his bench and was suppose to let me know today what was wrong.
+Scott Hayes MudMuckers moved and has a new place. They haven't opened yet. Don't know the type of terrain if it's like Hog Waller? When I FINALLY get go and get my Argo it is in Dade City. The guy who's working on it goes out to Holapaw all the time. I thought you had to have a gate key and "land owner" to be able to ride out their? Any way, I'll probably take it their when I pick it up and test her out. Im going to see if he's open on Saturdays and if not if he can make an acceptation so I don't have to burn an entire work day down and back. I'll let you know when I find something out.
