_______________________________________
Who can stop de-evolution of the human race?
Look at you, Corporate America, you're in disgrace
Globalize; cigarettes, business jets, you love it
Maximize; but you can take your bottom line and shove it
Gotta get away (gotta get away)
Gotta get away, but I need a little help tonight
What 'ya gonna say (what 'ya gonna say)
What 'ya gonna say when you never even seen the light
See the light
Corporate America, look out, look out
Corporate America, who's gonna save us, who's gonna save us now?
You and I; DVDs, SUVs and cyberspace
Flying blind, virtual reality is in our face
This Earth desecrated by the human race
Now what's it worth? When do we evacuate to outer space?
Corporate America, look out, look out
Corporate America, who's gonna save us, who's gonna save us now?
I see the future in the past, the reckless ride of modern man,
Just took the corner way too fast,
Flattened everything that stands
Fooled by the sales pitch for progress at a dizzy pace
We idolize the filthy rich for giving us synthetic taste
Computer calls, urban sprawl
Is the world a better place, is the world a better place?
Fare thee well, global extinction's forever
So what the hell, order your Mercedes in leather
Veal crates, ozone holes, and toxic waste
And don't count out religious hate
Who can survive this manmade fate?
Gotta get away
Gotta get away, and I need a little help tonight
What 'ya gonna say
Wha 'ya gonna say when you couldn't even see the light
See the light
Yeah - Hudba
This song is far more relevant today than when it was released. "Who's gonna save us now?" The government who's been protecting them from us??
A Republican party about to implode, USA two party system failure, I think it's true this and even Michael Jackson's Earth Song or Edgar Winter's Free Ride have important messages unheeded by suiciety
Well, it is the first Boston album to be independently published. No advertisements for the album were ever made. Less people knew about it, less people bought it. And I think the political statement Boston makes on this song is just awesome.
there were absolutely ads for this album, i remember vividly seeing an ad where one of the guys wore a fanny pack
I've loved Boston since I first heard them when I was 16! I'm 60 now
Same here
these guys are so anti corporate its amazing, considering the success they enjoyed. they never sold out to the recording companies and hence, 4 albums in their first 20+ years. they stood for something! rock on boston, miss you brad rip
"I see the future in the past
Just took the corner way too fast, the reckless ride of modern man....
We idolize the filthy rich for giving us synthetic taste"
could he be more correct?
One of the most underrated badass rock songs of all time!
Agreed, people can't believe that this is Boston when I play it on CD in my truck. I tell them that if there ever was an album of deep cuts, it's this one.
Never heard so many talented vocalists blend their voices like this so they sound like one big voice.
I loved Boston from the very beginning. They were before their time. Greatness.
The thing about Boston that I love so much is their music keeps evolving. It was some of the best music ever known to man when they started. It has changed significantly over the years and is still the best. They are always growing and changing.
They are before their time and still going!
Boston one of the best hard rock ever,i fell in love with them when i went too see them at the Oakland coliseum ,when they came out with the album "cool the engines" the good old days.god bless Boston.
that was third stage, cool the engines is a song.
im jelly
This guitar sound is incredible.
Boston was best known for soaring guitars and awesome harmonies and the unique voice that was Delp. The tragedy in all of this is that Brad, Barry, Sib all wanted to release albums every 2 or 3byears but Tom ran the show and the end result was a band that lost the mainstream listener and the big cheese of the 80s and 90s AOR radio.Consequently, less popularity as time went on.
You don't write, arrange and record the kind of music that BOSTON is known for using a 4 track cassette recorder on the bus in between tour dates. Remember KISS back in the late 70's early 80's? They put an album out every 6 months and there were two... maybe three GOOD songs on each album and the rest of it was trash. Tom Scholz is an ARTIST. He doesn't write sings he composes masterpieces.
This comment is a little disingenuous. First, Tom Scholz is Boston. He wrote and produced the hits and the vast majority of the songs. Other members besides Brad were hired players. They didn’t write anything and Tom was very financially generous to them despite. Brad declined to sing on Walk On because he wanted to do other things. Real musicians go off and do their own music when other gigs are tied up.
Boston is honestly one of the best bands to ever have existed. They still got it!!! LOVE YA BOSTON!!!!!! ROCK ON!!! *\0/*
This would make one hell of a campaign theme!!!
Thats really something significant, i love that. New gem from Boston to me!
For some reason, this used to be their only song I hated and tried to avoid for a year. But then I decided to listen to it carefully, and interpret the lyrics, and after like 15 times of listening, I loved this song so much!! I have no freakin' clue what changed my mind, but I'm glad to say I love all Boston songs now. ;D
OMG !!! I'm in chills !!!
I think people dislike this because it doesn't sound like "classic Boston." I mean its not Bostons best, but its not bad.
The Meh , but it is the best of Boston.
Boston trying to do something outside of the classic Boston comfort zone is a good thing.
problem with "classic boston" is that that was 40+ years ago. even if they wrote and released a "new self-titled", it wouldn't be the same. just like it's not the same when you have an orange crush today, as it was when you had one in 1988.
I love this band. R. I. P Brad. It’s a shame back in 2002 Only a handful of people in power took notice of the dangerous situations recorded in this song. Global Warming is the number one topic and now we all need to take Notice .
bostons most famous music is deffinitly from their first 2 albums but there are a few songs from thrid stage, corprate america and walk on that i do love. i had a good time, higher power, surrender to me, their all great songs.
This album sounds plenty enough like boston. I like it. I'm glad it didn't get too political. RIP Brad. You are missed.
RIP-Brad Delp-June 12, 1951-March 9, 2007. May the Lord be with him.
A Lonely Soul.
how did i not know that this band existed, named after my own city, with incredible songs like this until now? dang
THOSE GUITARS....NOTHING COMPARES...ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
You know 'corporate' created pop stars could never put this kind of stuff out. Boston got away with it because, as John Lennon once said.. "Not riding on the 'merry-go-round'" any longer.
+John Housand, it makes me think of what it would have been like if John had played with Boston...
@@valuecalc That could have created some amazing ballads.
This is my favorite album of theirs. I wish they'd kept evolving their sound with new music!
Not sure about that. Their upbeat style was a signature, and the fact that they started mid 70's and played with that style sort of made Boston Boston! I think it's good that Boston sticks to their roots.
thecianinator I guaranty you Scholz/Boston is far from done yet!
Corporate America is my favorite Boston Song and probably favorite piece of music ever. When I first heard it in 2003 the album had just come out. Have you ever had an injury where you got the wind knocked out of you? That's how this song affected me musically in a good way.
This is SO COMPELLING... and sad for most of us at the same time. :-(
I love it! Boston seems more confident than ever on this song! It's some of the band's best work ever!
It is awesome.
Jimmy Roberts , you're totally right. The boys never sounded better or so energized.
Electro Hard Rock/AOR? I dunno but I love this!!!
love it when songs relate to real life issues. Go Boston!!
Brilliant! Love the song, love the lyrics-True words.
Indeed it does... I love both those songs.
Thinking Daft Punk could have a pretty great remix of this song.
cool song
even when they dont sound great compared to previous albums.... THEY FUCKING ROCK
YOU KNEW !!!!!
awesome.
Amazing song!
You knew !!!
This song isn't the Boston that I was used to. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The sound itself could be great. The BAD thing is that the producer did a second-rate job. The lyrics aren't clear, the instruments conflict instead of blending and you can tell that Boston's signature guitar is there, but it doesn't get any of those rifts that made the band famous. The sound is that of a band in transition. Where it will end will show how good that band can be.
Great track! Reminds me of Bee Gees! I love it! =) Great singers and band! =)
This is a great song
Love. them 4 years s
I think that's Tom doing the spoken word thing in the bridge.
hell yheah! on e of the best songs that I;ve ever heard!
I agree wit you!
One of the best songs I have heard for a while. Fucking Rocks!!!
too true..
They had a point two years ago, and it still holds true now. Major reforms are needed...
it's a great song and a great album...luv it...
Great song, yes ... album NO
what saves this song is what Tom does best-his guitar
yes is is!
finally some one else who relizes that
THIS SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO"HIGHER POWER".
Similar instruments and vocal blend; different chords, melody, speed.
Yeah bro
I really like this album, it isn't like Boston, Don't Look Back or Third Stage, but I like it! Great job!
I like Walk On then this album
Even more relevant each day the Mango Mussolini remains on his golden commode..!
You're right. There's a video of them recording this song somewhere on CZcams. I think you can find it by searching 'Corporate America Promo'. Awesome song.
Boston is not the same without Brd, but the lyrics in this song are awesome.
Love. them 4 years
I adore Boston...BUT play this at 1.25 speed...techno classic!!!
there i am
I haven't heard this song since 7th grade back in 2013 when I was 13. I'm 17.
so what?
who can survive this man-made fate?
68 now I've bought all their albums here in England but I'm guessing they could be stuff in the USA 🇺🇸 I've missed?
I loved this way after the fact, when I was in my early teens. ill always love it.
They're only called corporate rockers because Tom's sound image has shown to be a good part of pop music tone, so the big'uns ripped off his ideas and whenever a pop song needed a hard rock section, they went to the Boston records for guidance. It's even mentioned in the Rockman promos-Tom has created the archetypal rock n' roll sound, and everyone wants it. I say you don't knock the creators of the cliche, just the unabashed rip-off artists...
I can't find this album on Spotify for some reason
You would have to get on EBay and order it and it’s not cheap. I still have my cd, when it first came out, years ago very hard to find now.
2 deep 4 me
OMG! What is wrong with you people! This album is amazing!
I think this album stunk, albeit a few good songs. I like this song and a few others.
yes this is what I remember! an then it will turn into a bloack hole?
Not their best but a good effort (good song) still like it BOSTON is an awesome band.
Yes it is, but Walk on album and Corporate America have great songs!
@Vidiogamereviews 2002 actually :P
They record their music in a small basement studio.
Weird this isn't on Google play music but everything else is...
Not on spotify either or their CZcams page. Got me questioning some stuff.
I hate how this is sung simultaneously by Brad Fran and Tom for 98% of the song, it makes it difficult to understand what they’re saying and doesn’t sound at all like Boston
not the best song but i still love boston
yea ik, im saying their most popular music came from their first 2 albums. what you said has no relevance to what i said
@Roggiedodgie many different people when it should have been all brad
This sure separates from their upbeat solo harmony normal stuff. I'm not sure I like it too terribly much. I wish Delp could've helped out a bit more!
It's one man, btw. :)
Dude I have no fuckin idea I was trying to be sarcastic.
this sounds a tad like "higher power"
Definitely the only good thing that came out of this album.
Lucy Coats: I'll be sure to flood your inbox with this song since you love it so much :)
This is good music but everything changed after Brad's tragic departure.
Brad’s singing on this
Which bad?
Who's singing on this album?
Roggiedodgie Fran Cosmo Kimberly Dahme and Brad Delp.
It's a rat maze. The people are the rats.
No offense, Boston. I love your music, but it was much better with Goudreau and Delp (RIP). This sounds like it should've been released in the 80's.
would have been a MUCH better song/album without the programmed dated "80's ZZtop drum machine techno beat. PLEASE don't ever do that again Tom. There are sections where the drums are even out of synch and playing stuff that no live drumer would ever conceive. It just sounds wrong! Certainly Artemis was looking for a better product at the time. #1, 2, and 3rd stage were masterpieces...this was like a charicature of the band I loved (and still do, only not anything about this album)
i don't know if it is because I am not/ don't get high anymore, not even drunk...I cannot relate to this sound anymore....sorry to let it go but it just ain't smokin'.
Sounded too techno for me
ein anderes Boston ob genau gut ? nur die gitarre ist blendend
Quality recording is really bad. The songs are good but it's not possible anymore to recording them in this way, especially the drums and the bass guitar
This is only from like 2003 and they still make these songs
Quality recording is really bad? WTF does that mean? Get some grammar lessons - and check your ears too,
They dont have any original singers
Walk on doesn't even have their original singer.
I liked them better when they had songs about love and partying and good times. They can leave the political stuff to the politicians as far as I'm concerned!
i like this song, but i do not care for the vocals. I'd prefer ti to be all Brad Delp harmonies like the old days
Ok...I was reading about Boston on Wikipedia and they said that Scholtz put this out on mp3 and it was a hit on progressive broadcasts...so I hurried over to YT to hear it.....I don't get it, and I don't like it and don't want it. No use for Scholtz anymore will hug up on the first two Boston albums and enjoy the memories. RIP Brad Delp....
Sholz.
This album is a textbook example of where making an expedient political statement overrode ones ability to make better music. The worse selling Boston album ever (less than 175,000 sold). Most of the songs sound unfinished or underdeveloped.
I gotta disagree; I think only this song was political on it. What really overrode making better music was how Delp only sang some songs, how Tom was a weak lyricist, and how they left off Higher Power and Tell Me.
