I remember that in the 90s I saw him perform at a small club in St. Lous with RTZ. At the end of the show, he was going around shanking the fans' hands. At the time a friend of mine had his hand in a caste. As Brand passed and shook hand he asked "What happened to your hand man?" I think that says it all. End of story.
Even tho Boston made truckloads of money, they gave alot of it to various charities, and stood up for the poor and disadvantaged people of the world as well as animal rights, and many environmental issues. Hence this song. They were much different than the other rock bands who were only in the music business purely for the money aspect of it - and the fame of course. I admire Boston. Always have, always will. BOSTON YOU ROCK!!!
Never gonna forget Brad, totally unique voice with one of the most harmonic bands i will probably ever hear in my lifetime. May he rest in peace, he wont be forgotten...
I met Fran in Utica, NY in 1984, we talked about his work with Barry Godreau - ‘Orion the Hunter’. Nicest person, friendly, pleasant to talk to, he’s down to earth with no hint of arrogance at all. I was attending a graduation dinner that he and his wife at the time- Eileen were attending. She was my classmate.
They, Boston and like bands, would not exist today because of the broken business model for music industry, which values clicks over quality... Our new generations are missing out on so much!
Yeah sing it Brad! No other person can even come close to duplicating his voice! RIP BRAD... Thank you for the honor of speaking to me after the concert... You literally saved me! Miss you!
This song was a triumph on Tom's part to bring the Boston sound into the 21st century. I didn't think it could be done, but the sound is amazing. But, the reason this song won't appeal to mass audiences is the same problem that affects many old rockers. They lose their talent for allegory and the lyrics become too literal. This has happened to Fleetwood Mac also. If you want to hear a REAL Boston song with some of the same themes as Corporate America, listen to Hitch A Ride instead.
boston needs to do more videos. love the ending where brad and fran hit those high notes together. what a team!! brad is gone rip but we still have fran, tom needs to bring fran back!!!!
they got their CZcams find like Journey did, it's just not likely as Barry Goudreau explains in very recent interviews, Tom is a task master about his band, and I believe despite his strong ego, it is his pet project for life, Boston is still a force for good in the World!!
brad will surely be missed, his unmistakanble voice was a signature to a true rock band. I remeber the 1st time I heard an RTZ song on the radio, i knew immediately it was brad, sad, they never went further, oh well, gods rock-n-roll band just got a great additon
That's correct. My friend bought me the CD for Xmas in 2002 and then we went to see them live at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, Ca in Aug '03.
The songs Boston do are not "micky mouse " pop i think they are all technically tough so lets cut Scholz some slack that he has kept everything going....and still comes up with new stuff
It's genuinely sad that so little effort has (seemingly) been put into making sure this band's catalog and their live performances are immortalized. Sure, we'll probably always have access to the first 3 albums, but there's an ENTIRE ALBUM out of only 6 that's not being sold or spread in any official capacity. The only live performance on streaming platforms keeps being added and removed at random (probably by someone completely unattached legally). There are probably music videos and several concert videos being hidden intentionally. There are so many demos and unfinished songs that likely exist or existed that could be out there for fans of the band. We don't even know for sure that the band still exists (at least in the form we last saw). It's insane since Boston was one of the best and most influential artists of their time for the AMAZING sounds and songs they made. I'm very lucky to have seen them in 2016, but at the time I had NO CLUE that they'd be radio silent so shortly afterward. Apparently another album's in the works, and maybe they'll tour again, but we just don't know for sure. Anyway, this song is awesome. RIP Brad Delp.
you are right. It's been years of silence, can't believe one of the greatest band is gone for good. I'm really expecting some news form Tom and Gary. Regarding their catalog, reminds me of the "Survivor paradox", big selling and loved artist that doesn't reward the miserable fans with any publication
This is a harder rocking song to me but definitely in the same boat. They're both good. Check out the similarities. Mainly the beat...czcams.com/video/lHi9S_0wYV4/video.html
If we're being honest here, this has got to be one of the if not the easiest vocals Delp ever did. It is almost a song that is talked. I like it that Brad was complimentary of Fran and his higher voice. But really it fit in for embellishments and some added strength to help Delp lay off of the super highs on the top end. A decent song. Don't remember it getting airplay.
no see if you watch fran sang most of the high leads til that last note where brad started it and fran jumped in half way thru to help end the song. fran has a great voice.... rip brad
@lakefloor ha! no, the videos on our channel are of drummer, Chris Coleman. I am the manager of DiCenso's Drum Shop (just south of Boston) who put those up there. Yes, the whole experience I had did indeed put me off - aside from the fact that meeting and playing with Brad was an amazing experience I will cherish forever. He really was "the nicest guy"!
this song is about what we as humans are doin to this eart, and most of tom's songs are about, love peace, lookin forward and walk on and don't look back, i just wish tom could get things right with barry and fran!!! love you tom, but what does it take to be a man???
Anyone else hope that their new record will have real drums??? I assume that the fake drums are just a part of the Boston sound so much now. I love this song, Delp and Cosmo sound great together! RIP Brad.
I love Boston. Great concept band. This is a little serious for them. My version of Boston was not political. It was semi-serious lyrics/music with 1st rate production. This is dark for them.
Still can not believe Brad is gone...such a kind human and a beautiful voice & heart...his music will live on forever.
Is the best of voice
Is BRAD and man
same, think about him very often

I think you're mostly talking about Scholz.

I was fortunate enough to see Boston back in 94 or 95 on their Livin For You tour, with both Brad and Fran - what a show... we miss you, Brad.
1995 Livin' For You Tour
3 of music's finest musicians in one spot... Priceless.
the best
Ya gotta admit, Brad and Fran are an amazing vocal force.
true!
and the sohn on the guitar !
they are and I told them that personally in 1997 after a show in MS.
I met Fran in Utica, NY in 1984, we talked about his work with Barry Godreau - ‘Orion the Hunter’. Nicest person, friendly, pleasant to talk to, he’s down to earth with no hint of arrogance at all. @@larylary5709 Get his ass out of there
Brad was The Heart & Soul of Boston, not even up for debate!
What a frigging find. Holy crap, this was great!!!
I think it was their first official video
Good band. Good song. Good message.
miss you cousin brad. i have been to this studio. it is amazing. luv ya and miss ya buddy!
Brad was amazing...whole band was years before its time. They would dominate the charts TODAY!
They, Boston and like bands, would not exist today because of the broken business model for music industry, which values clicks over quality... Our new generations are missing out on so much!
Unfortunately, TODAY, good music played by excellent musicians on real instruments would rarely be a selling point.
best on the earth, miss you Brad
Bradley Delp, the voice and the feeling. A guy like him never die!! BOSTON rocks and Brad Delp forever!!!
Yeah sing it Brad! No other person can even come close to duplicating his voice! RIP BRAD... Thank you for the honor of speaking to me after the concert... You literally saved me! Miss you!
Brad was incredible Definitely one of the greatest voices I have ever heard and cannot be duplicated
Saw an interview with Delp. He noted Fran has a higher voice than he does. Good Lord!!!!
What an incredible band!!!
I miss them both
This is great.we need more video like this with Brad. Brad lives forever ❤

I agree, I am the self proclaimed biggest Boston fan in Arkansas! Thanks Tom for keeping the music going.
Brilliant! Love the song, love the lyrics- true words.
RIP Brad. You are missed.
most beautiful song i've ever heard. EVER
This album dates back to 2002 from my memory.
their next one was not until 2013. Hope they put out at least one more.
Vidiot760- Let's also not forget that music of this quality and level is rarely encountered and divinely inspired.

Love this song special song for the times we live in. Corporate america must know we hate it.
It is a shame that Fran is no longer in the band, his son Anthony also, due to mention of their association with Boston.
we need to resurrect brad from the grave
Rest in peace Brad

Can you tell me what kit was used? Also why does Tom use triggered samples? And what trigger module does he use? Thanks

Love Brad..Boston,whos gonna save us now?? Do i really have 2 spell it out?? U know!!
I seriously doubt that anything Tom every recorded was recorded like this...with all of them doing their parts together at the same time.
Cool! I had never seen this before. Gee, I didn't know they recorded the track in one take. (LOL!)
