Canadian Grandma here. Trooper was the anthem up north that pushed me as a young adult to become an advocate for my times against the machine of injustices happening in the world. Your right it has the same impact today as it did for us then. Glad that newer gens are hearing its message and hopefully getting up and jumping around a bit. Get your blood pumping in a good way. Canadian Grandma. L. C.
Having several pints at the bar last night with a stranger that quickly became my friend and then when the question came up as to what we both do for a living. His response was I'm the drummer for trooper. We're all equals.
This song just popped up in my head. It’s amazing the things our brains store and then you remember everything. Every word. Every guitar lick. Great song!
I was 13 years old and was given this album by our neighbor DJ along with their "Hot Shots" album. Together I rocked for the entire fall and winter of '78 into '79, thanks my neighbor! I have all of their albums now, and I'm still rocking along!
Canada gave us Yanks some damn fine rock-n-roll over the years: B-T-O, April Wine, Chilliwack, Trooper, Neil Young, Bryan Adams....list is endless. Thank ya Canucks!
I saw these guys on Canada’s 150th Birthday at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada. when they played the song, everyone in the audience sang along, it was an unforgettable and wonderful experience
After all these years, I finally learned where this came from! They played a portion of this song at a Calgary Flames game I went to in Dec. 2005, and I always wondered where it came from!
Played this song for the last time ever for my buddy... We left in his car for a quick spin... He didn't make it and I am still in the hospital... As fast as his car would go he went even faster... RIP BRIAN... 😇😇😇 WISH WE COULD BE TALKING ABOUT THIS RIGHT NOW...🤬🤬🤬
I love that so much but that is such a mysterious omen. Like, have you raised any hell. Also when I was born, the tv was playing Airplane! My mom was doing just fine at the time and handling it quite well so my dad just watched Airplane while I was being born.
I mean people who looked up this song because of (pop culture reference) most likely did so because they enjoyed it so everyone here must have a good taste in music
Tobmind no that isn’t true. These people aren’t music lovers. They’re TV show lovers, they’ll play this song once, leave a comment, and never hear this song again. Their only connection with this song is through the show. It’s not like these people listen to 80s rock...
Alex K Do you know how many of my favourite songs were found? I heard many in shows and I looked them up because I liked them. Let kids find good music old man
I met trooper in northern Canada one time.. had drinks and supper with them with the gf at the time.. had no idea who they were! But super nice guys.. Jus was there 4 a carnival that was happening.
@@tinamarie0701 no..... I live in Idaho now. Have family and life long friends that are still in Maplewood. Growing up I lived right behind the Maplewood Theatre Next to THE LOOP. I believe that the universe speaks to you and sends you messages. I've noticed when there's a big change about to happen in my life this song plays on the radio. I'm applying for a supervisor position where I work, yesterday on my way home this played on the radio. I feel like that's the universe giving me a nod and wink.
I've never heard of Stranger Things. But my current struggle to better my life, and my search for something to help get me motivated and pumped up, was what brought me here. I think I want to go and buy this CD and set up my alarm to wake me up to this song every day. :)
You've got that right! We had THE Best Music in the 70's (late 60's & early 80's too)! Still nothing current is like the tunes from those times. Rock On everyone!🎵🎶🎼
Pulled up at church and parked parallel to the pastors van 10 feet beside me . As i placed it in park, this song came on and i had to immediately turn the volume down 😂 out of respect 🙏 comical.. then i had to even talk to him as i got out of car all while giggling to myself over this song.
Saw this band in concert at the Indiana State Fair in August 1976. They were the opening act for Heart and The headliners Bachman Turner Overdrive. Never heard of this band again until I heard this song on Sirius FM Classic Vinyl Channel today and today’s date is 1-26-2017. I guess this band actually never fell off of the face of the earth.
This Band still plays some concerts in Canada mainly British Columbia the Vancouver area and Washington state ,, the leaders of the Band are School teachers .,, Listen to a song called we are here for a Good time not a long time by them .,, all of the songs they write are positive influence songs ,, Even Raise a little Hell its about lifting your self up
I don't know what Stranger Things is? My love and thirst for Canadian rock brought me here. Trooper are a great band and Canada had a lot of bands that were somewhat famous in their homeland and all but ignored here in the States. It was really stupid because there are more great Canadian bands than most other countries and you had a different kind of vibe for all the different provinces. Quebec bands are great for progressive stuff and out there stuff. Ontario province leaned towards melodic hard rock. Manitoba and Saskatchewan their own thing. Alberta this kind of sound is starting, but this is British Columbia Canada west coast and darned good song too!
58-year-old American here. This song still rocks. Thanks, Trooper. Love Canadian rock.
Posting 6-28-22. I turned 59 18 days ago. Proud American, too!
Also turned 59 a month ago. This song is a KSHE Klassic (St. Louis).

This great anthem was in our jukebox (10 cents) at the enlisted club at Futenma Airbase on Okinawa, Japan in 1979. We raised a little hell!
This song just popped up in my head. It’s amazing the things our brains store and then you remember everything. Every word. Every guitar lick. Great song!
This song can instantly transport me back 45 years to spring of sophomore year in high school.
They sound like The Sweet and its brilliant!!!!
Not TOO much hell, just a LITTLE hell! We wouldn't want to cause too much trouble, would we?

LaserGadgets, indeed.
We grew up in our early teens and twenties LIVING this as an anthem. Still play it in my bands to this day and people still love it!!
I can't believe there was a time in music where rock musicians were allowed to look at the camera and appear to be happy on their album covers!
😂 true, truth is we became so pissed off at being shoved by the popular people that came out in our music
Being raised in the 70's sent me here.

Amen to that brother!

nikkiknight104 Damn I sure miss those days!
They are still around much to their credit.. Another great band in a long list of really good Canadian acts in my opinion.
They played at a Small Festival in my Community (before Covid) on Canada Day and that was pretty Amazing!
Have y'all read my comment, about how the Ottawa Senators used this as a goal song when they played at the tiny Civic Centre between 1992 and 1995?
Nice, just discovered this band a week ago. Reminds me if Queen.
