- When something is really funny you will laugh. Actors are in the business of being emotionally open and when something is hilarious, many of them can’t help but laugh even if they are in a serious dramatic scene.
Even the best actors have broken character when something humorous happens during an emotional scene. Funny is funny, and sometimes, you just need to laugh it all out before resuming a serious role.
It’s why we wait eagerly for blooper reels. Here are movie scenes actors couldn’t get through without laughing.

What other movie scenes do you think should've made the list?
Sicario scene, where Benicio is interrogating Jon Bernthal in the back seat of a car with Josh Brolin on the front seat, they just can't keep a straight face, ooooh the lolz.
Looper Jabba's right hand man in return of the Jedi who if you look closely at the back ground is making faces when Jabba is speaking. that fella with the big worm thing wrapped around his neck.
Looper fist fight
Looper Catherine Schell as "Lady Lytton" in "Return of the Pink Panther". 1975. Another case of Peter Sellers making his poor co-stars laugh their ass off.
Looper I i
1:04 Joaquin laughed...he just suppressed it once the STANK hit him.
1 Bad Jesus 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah i saw him smirk
@@willielarimer7170 didnt look like laughing
That poor puggo
david maclaury what?
Danny Kay not really , I mean they're designed to shake their heads when they catch an animal to kill it , that's why you see dogs ragging around toys etc , when I first saw the clip I kinda thought wtf ! And compared it to shaking a baby , but having thought about it it's not at all like that
plus is like a min.... that min guaranteed him good food for a life lol..
They should've used a prop. That poor dog.
THEY DIDN'T HURT THAT PUG. I AM AN ACTOR AND KNOW THIS....AT ALL FILMMING; THERE IS ALWAYS AN ANIMAL WRANGLER..WHO KEEPS AN EYE ON IT...AND ..ITS A LAW THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ABUSE OR HARM ANY ANIMAL!
Now I can't stop thinking about Portman's burning beaver. So.. same as yesterday.
PIG
Call the Fire Department!
New Message ....she should have worn a condom.....now she'll have to take antibiotics to get rid of it...
could also just be a UTI..
Shouldn't your name be "New notification"?
Asking the real questions.
It is amazing to me that the lineup scene in the Usual Suspects could have been possibly played straight, that is one of my all time favorite scenes, so glad it came together like it did.
That was a real dog? Aww.
PETA!!!
Decoy They kill healthy dogs anyway.
And his name (apperently) was Mushu
Katniss?
Your 18 years too late so stop complaining and stop being a pussy. I love animals too. Also PETA are terrible with how they try to spread their message and actually kill thousands of animals(healthy and young) in their kennels instead of adopting them out to family's. FUCK PETA!!!
Betty White is in Peetah!
Phoenix ALMOST cracked.
Yeah, you can see his face twitch. It was a valiant effort. :-)
he was smirking so hard
It wasn't a real Pug it was an alien Pug.
I like pugging around...( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It was still real. A REAL alien pug.
an alien pug.. OF DEATH!
..
sorry.
But was it a real Agent K?
Mr2at lol
You totally forgot the scene from ace Ventura pet detective where ace dresses up as a ballet dancer at the insane asylum!!! Everyone in the background (especially the doctor) can't keep a straight face
Erik Mathiesen when he slams his face into the chair right?
Sal Morabito I remember seeing the film at the cinema and when he hit that chair the whole audience winced in pain then laughed
Erik Mathiesen Was the asylum insane or was it an asylum for the insane?
TheKomentor
With out the insane, it would just be a asylum.
But doesn't everyone think of the insane when someone uses the word asylum?
Why do I click on looper videos? They always disappoint.
Jd B It's the frenetic voiceover, whats the hurry? savour it! let's just enjoy the clips.I find it's the same with so many of these kind of voiceovers, they are either on coke or helium.
Joaquin phœnix should have had many Oscars ! That guy is amazing
But he also doesn't give a fuck about the Oscars and that makes him even more amazing
Yeah and he kind of seems like a crazy asshole.... there's that too.
He had a frog in his hair that day.
This would be a lot funnier without all the explaining!
True
Good Will Hunting, anyone ? When Robin tells the hilarious fart story which everyone burst of laughter, from Matt to the cameraman.
How did people keep a straight face during Peter Sellers lines in his character of Clouseau? The interaction between Clouseau and Dreyfuss is the best!
1:55 Of course Daniel Day-Lewis may have won the most Best Actor Oscars in history, Katharine Hepburn did win 4 Best Actress Oscars.
There was one in The Wizard of Oz when Judy Garland couldn't keep a straight face when the characters meet the Cowardly Lion. She would laugh at Burt Lahr's sobbing and had to bury her face in Toto's back to keep it together.
Great video Looper.
Wow, the guy sitting next to the pug looks just like the butler from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It is
ma je it is yes
Richard O’Brien
ma je
05/01/2018
Yessss it is Riff Raff (Richard O'Brien), from TRHPS. 😍
No it is certainly not Richard O’Brien. It was an uncredited actor named Munro Gabler.
I managed to get through Your Highness mainly because of Natalie, but also because it was so unashamedly ridiculous it ended up being funny.
Hey Looper... please talk over everything including right smack up to the actual blooper so we don't actually get into the scene to enjoy it. GREAT JOB!
So am I the only who couldn't stop laughing at the dude struggling with his arm?
It's a classic scene with Peter Sellers. If you haven't seen it, you should! (Dr. Strangelove - look it up!) Another well-known scene has Slim Pickens riding a falling bomb as though he's on a bronco. "Yeehaw!!!" Classic dumb humor movie.
Anything Slim Pickens, Peter Sellers, ANYthing Mel Brooks.
Peter Sellers was one of the best comedic actors of the 20th century. He actually plays three separate characters in that movie, and if you don't know it you would never guess. He's that good. A true genius.
Go and watch that movie. You will be entertained.
Watch Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movies. The action sequences with his butler are hilarious.
Love frank the pug
I feel so sad for that pug.......:( :( :(
Me too
Dion 342000 I have a pug. He'd rip my face off I ever did anything like that. I didn't like that at all
Donkey Punch Knock-Out edgy try hard limpdick.
He fucking loved it.
Love the"Strangelove" scene. One of my all time favorite movies.
On the plus side, that pug is now a very famous actor.
that elevator scene cracked me up :))))))))
One of my favourite things about movies are when fuck ups or jokes or non-scripted events make it into the final cut.
"So I Married an Axe Murderer" the famous scene where Mike Myers is playing his dad and it's clearly just Mike joking off the cuff until they got enough stuff to fill a scene. Anthony LaPaglia is dying laughing the entire time.
the line up scene in usual suspects was epic
never never never shake a baby. pug
I agree. What they could had done, they could had used a dummy or puppet for the bit where Tommy Lee Jones shakes the pug. Jones could had really hurt the poor pug.
Daniel Williamson Have.. HAVE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD USE THE WORD HAVE!!!
I am being serious.
Daniel Williamson Well if you're being serious, (which I know you were btw) use proper grammar.
If you must know - I have Asperger syndrome. Laugh or cry. It is true.
The scene in The Usual Suspects is great.
Tommy Lee Jones did not shake the pug as violently as it appears in the movie. Apparently,he shook the little dog slowly and in short takes, after which they sped the film up, since shaking small animals and babies roughly can be dangerous to their health.
Peter Sellers and that arm was hilarious, if you never seen that move you have to watch it.
Also, in The Usual Suspects scene, the director kept teasing Benicio, telling him again again to "say the line again but in English this time" which kept cracking the guys up.
Damn Natalie Portman's smile and giggle......
Tommy sure was shaking that poor pug a lot. I LOVE pugs.
Josh from Until Dawn
Robert Evans lol that's what I was thinking
Elliot from Mr. Robot.
EXACTLY!!! that stunned me!!
"Your Highness" was released 2011, not 2010. But it was an exceptionally good comedy, even though it was disaster in box office and critics ranted it. I think I'll watch it again tonight.
It's been burning in my beaver! LOL!
Hold on a damn minute you trying to tell me that they were shaking a real ass pug in Men In Black.... this bothers me
Yeah me too lol
Or we could just watch any gag reel. This video doesn't give us anything that a gag reel wouldn't do better, because there's no dry commentary. This feels a bit barrel-scrapey.
Probably so...but we'd have to go scrape all those barrels ourselves otherwise.
It could have been a fraction of the length.
Barrel-scrapey...
Barrel-scrapey...
Barrellll-Scraaapey....
barrELLL-SCRAAAApey
Welcome to watchmo... or Looper rather
MAJOR OMISSION! "Monty Python & The Holy Grail" in the scene where Connie Booth is dragged up on charges of being a witch. At one point, Eric Idle is trying *SO HARD* not to "corpse" (drop out of character and blow the shot) that *he bites on his (presumably shitty) shovel!* Once seen, you *CAN'T* un-see it!
Life of Brian - Biggus Dickus scene - according to IMDB :
"When Michael Palin as Pontius Pilate addressed the soldiers daring them to laugh, he was truly daring them. The soldier extras were ordered to stand there and not laugh, but not told what Palin was going to do. Palin, in fact, can barely stifle his own laughter when saying "Biggus Dickus" in front of the soldier asked if he finds the name "risible". "
I kinda expected the scene from The Usual Suspects. XD
The blooper at the end of Dream Catcher when Donnie Walberg breaks character and says Dude I said un erm ills erld.
I can't believe the poor Pug was shaken like that!
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."
that pug scene, although it may be messed up, is my favorite scene out of all the Men in Black movies
Nah for me you just can't beat in MIB 2 when J comes out of the dinner and there's the pug singing along to who let the dogs out, don't know why but it cracks me up every time
AussieBlokeGordo lol thats a good one to, i just cant get over the fact that they had to shake a pug lol
to hear that they really shaked a doggo during that scene strangely doesn't bother me-- a dog owner. But maybe because I know breeds, and long ago my first dog honestly shook herself around that much running back and forth from the kitchen around the living room table and she's about that size. Leaping up over things and into my arms and all around the house... Small dogs like that practically throw eachother down stairs for fun, i've seen it. It's fuckin adorable and they're tough. They want you to grab em and rub them and mush them down and push em around. My pitbull loves to rough-house! She does it with the neighborhood dog who doesn't really seem to want to play like that, That dog is more of a jumper, a runner, wants the others to follow her, but my dog gets up in her face, which causes me to have some alarm-- And when I look at a dog, I kinda know when it's upset. And not by it's face, because dogs don't express like that... I think the pug might not have liked being held under his arms, but he didn't indicate in his body language that he wanted to be put down for a second. And from what I've heard with pugs? They're incredibly pleased to be held at all and turn into big manipulable pancakes that let you carry them wherever you want. Like as if they were waiting all their life to be carried round. That pug loved that scene.
ITS JUST BORIS!
AtomiskZabaleta You REALLY need some human interaction!
The Dr. StrangeLove must have been real generals, they never cracked a smile or chuckled but Peter Bull surprising cracked for a brief moment. This scene is hilarious every time I see it and Peter Sellers is masterful as the good Doctor
No no no, wait a minute ... *MOST* career military officers just stand around all day with their thumbs up their butts awaiting orders. The *really good ones* become famous (Jimmy Doolittle, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy) and some become infamous (Douglas MacArthur, George Patton, Alexander Haig) examples given.
The actors were doing what they were precisely directed to do ... play bored middle-men four-stars who take orders from a Peter Sellers president to pass along to their Non-Coms (non-commissioned officers) who actually do the dirty work. My first reflex action when someone refers to me as "sir" is *Don't call Me 'SIR!* I used to work for a living!" (I have added that "used to" bit to my response from a CPO aboard the USS Neosho, a fleet oiler in Hurricane Agnes, 1972.)
I have since stolen a line from my second and third Best Man: "It's either Bill or Asshole."
I suspected I was narcissistic long ago, and it took Darn Old Wannabee Drumpf to bring me to my senses. I am a legend in my own --time-- mind, and if I can actually believe there is a fan base out there that believes in me --
VOTE FOR DEMOCRACY!! Our 200+ year experiment in "one voice, one vote" is under attack by facists who claim "corporations are people" --- I do *NOT* intend to die in a facist America!
Poor doggo
How is it worse to fart in an elevator full of oscar winners than normal people? That is precisely the time to break wind. The oscar winners can savor my southern wind.
lol i can't stop giggling too
That scene in The Usual Suspects is even funnier when you know that was a total ad-lib by the actors.
not much in the way of bloopers in this, but we do get to hear the narrator blabber on, which makes it very special.
DDL doesn't break character, he just gives the character a break.
Not that anyone nowadays would know this but the Cannonball Run movies with Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise we're always hilarious. they were personal friends and it was hard for them to keep it together while acting together. for the record I'm not that old I just know a lot of movies.
There's one in Austin Powrers where Dr Evil gets smacked in the balls by a globe-I think it was Rob Lowe in The Spy Who Shagged Me, playing Number 2, and he gets belted by this huge ball and he begins to crease up laughing!
shaking the dog make laugh to death hahahahha
The "Bigus Dickus" scene from Monty Python's Life of Bryan. Apparently, the actors were promised a substantial bonus if they could keep from cracking up. No one received the bonus.
That scene where frank the pug got shaken was too funny not to laugh at.
There's got to be a million fart bloopers out there that we haven't seen. I bet they are hilarious. And remember....beautiful Girls fart too!
Oooohhh and Phillips Seymore Hoffman, he was such a great actor, so sad hes gone... so many great and almost great actors are gone!! It sucks
There's 4 minutes of my life I won't get back.
I love hearing Liam Neeson laugh! Pheonix is a fuddy duddy! I can’t stand Daniel but he did play an amazing Lincoln.
In the "We've found a witch" scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, John Cleese's pauses became longer and longer, and Eric Idle had to bite his scythe to keep from laughing. It's in the finished film.
It's been burning in my beaver
2:30 lmaooooo 😂
I feel really really sad for the pug
i just have to say natalie portman looks so beautiful !!!!!
I agree
On the old Carol Burnett show. Harvey Korman thought Tim Conway was the funniest human alive. Many times, Korman had extreme difficulty composing himself because Conway had cracked him up so bad.
Peter Sellers makes me cry, every time
Poor puppy
Daniel Day Lewis has won 3 Oscars for Actor in a Leading Role -- "more than anyone else in history". Meryl Streep has won 2 Oscars for Actor in a Leading Role, 1 for Actor in a Supporting Role and has had 20 Oscar nominations. Kinda puts DDL to shame, if you ask me...
Joaquin did smirk right after the elevator fart....if you pay attention you can see he's not a robot !
So who cut the cheese in the elevator? I bet it was Amy Adams
I thought it was the ginger in the back left corner.
joachim was holdin his breath... I would too.
Forgot the scene in Rogue One where the droid backhands Diego Luna. He wasn't expecting it and was hiding his smile behind his hands.
When Peter Sellers went through his rant, it was ad lib city. The camera just kept rolling and so did he. I wouldn't have been able to hold it together either.
You guys should do a "Worst Marvel Cinematic Universe CGI Moments" !!!!
he didnt laugh but he smiled lol
Peter Sellers in "the elevator scene"
one of them supposedly breaks wind in the scene and they all had to act like they smelt it, but nobody could keep their shit together when the director gave them their cue.
Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the most notoriously talented modern method actors ever, and a common belief is now telling that being THIS talented at being many people can somewhat negatively affect you mentally. Afterall, Day-Lewis DID one time claimed to have seen the ghost of his Father, and later used that to play Hamlet. What I'm getting at, is that every moment he acts like a normal human being must be cherished.
Monty Pythons "Life of Brian". Palin tormenting the centurion with "Biggus Dickus".
hahahahaa => it' s been burning in my beaver :-)
who thinks of that stuff ;-)
Danny McBride and Ben Best.
All of this and nothing about our good old buddy from Rome? Well, just you wait 'till Biggus Dickus hears about this!
THAT POOR PUG ;-;
god i need to watch the usual suspects again.
He shook a real pug??? How did PETA let this slip by?
PETA has no control over nothin'. its the American Humane Association that signed off on this shit.
Besides, PETA is the most unethical bunch of lying, dishonest sons of bitches out there...Go look up the lawsuit over PETA stealing a little girl's happy, healthy dog out of the family's fenced yard and having it EUTHANIZED. Literally just because they felt like it.
PETA is a scam but they used a real pug AND a fake one. they didnt shake this little dog like that lol
0:53 if that Josh from until dawn?lol
The reason the pug in MIB drew a smirk from Tommy Lee Jones, ACCORDING to Tommy Lee Jones, was that the shaking aroused the little (male) dog and something emerged off-camera.
Peter Sellers, god damn he was good
These are fucking hilarious. I was laughing.
Bad ass funny
3:22 standing to his right, our left.
Phoenix did laugh he smirked but held it together.
0:54 THATS THE GUY FROM UNTIL DAWN WHAAATTTT
I had trouble getting through Schindler's List without laughing.
epic video and these would be so annoying as they would have to retake the seen
So many movie titles that I've never heard of. I should get out more.
That poor pug!
