- In Episode 16 Bugsy takes us fishing Sydney inshore reefs in NSW Australia targeting snapper, kingfish and Australian salmon on a Saturday morning. Bugsy uses a range of lures from 5 - 9 inch soft plastic jerk shads to topwater poppers. Bugsy is using a Hobie Revolution 13 kayak to quietly stealth around in the shallow waters. Enjoy!
In time as usual for the morning brew 😀
Morning!
Nice morning sesh Bugsy! Happy new year bud! - SMITHY 😉🤙🎣🐟
Happy new year Smithy!
Great video as always mate
Thanks mate. It is a good creative outlet
Nice salmon and a lot of yellowtail! It looks a really good fishing spots around. It's kinda rare to have such spots where you can catch salmon on kayak fishing, almost never happens here in Japan.
Cheer mate! Yes, it is a really nice area to fish. I've never been to Japan. Looking forward to getting over there some time
Did i just comment I can’t remember , I’m waiting for my coffee before watching🥴
Haha! Comment as much as you like Cole
Great content as usual. Looking at the coast line in the back ground off Sydney, how good is it that we have it in our back yard.
Thanks Shane. Yeah, we are so lucky to have access to such beautiful coastline in Sydney
without a sounder how do you know where the reef is
I use the Navionics app and sounder and then through time on and in the water have also mapped it out in my mind so I can just run off that memory
Hey mate can i ask what kayak u are usiing for offshore kayak fishing near sydney and what do u recommend?
Hi mate, I am using a Hobie Revolution 13. It has the 180 Mirage drive that lets you go in forward and reverse. Very handy when throwing lures into the wash. I'm pretty happy with it for Sydney. You need to launch it in calm waters though. Not meant for surf launching. If you are launching in the surf, I think the Stealth brand is better. Hope that helps
@@bugsyfishing then where do h launch?
@@fishinghighlightshorts I launch in the sheltered corners of the beaches where there are no waves. A little shore break is okay just not the whitewater that the South Queensland crew deal with in their Stealths. I wouldn't ride a wave in on the Revolution but I would in a Stealth. Hope that makes sense
Can you tell round about the area you fish I sometimes go too yellow rock for snapper try that launch from old ramp at morooba peddle out get squid tge go out front you'll hook up bddst luck love ya vids
Cheers for the tips mate. As per your other comment, I do my best not to name spots. Mainly to respect the crew who fish these spots regularly. I think a lot of the inshore reefs fish well in Sydney. Thank you
Why wasn’t I not on the strones this day 🧐🧐 looks so different from your view
Yes, where were you?! The swell seems much smaller in the kayak than from the rocks
Me again is that long reef are you apart of kfnsw ive got a friend who fishes there alot
Hi Les, I do my best not to name spots. I fish all over Sydney. Long Reef is well known for holding fish. I think I have KFNSW on FB
hi mate did you launch at the beach?
Yep, always beach launch. Tried other options but beach is easier
@@bugsyfishingwhat beach did you launch at?
@@alexmarriner2305 I do my best not to name locations I fish. I check the swell and launch in the protected corners
@@bugsyfishing washing the sand off my yak is annoying, that's why I love boat ramps!!!
@@novemberkilo277 haha! Fair enough
