What an amazing video, Fadi! Such a beautiful species of gecko. You captured some INCREDIBLE footage too! Your content is top tier ☺️👏🏼
Thank you Kayla! Took a few months of waiting and staring into that tank to get those shots 😂
Appreciate you!! ❤️
absolutely fantastic depth on this species, makes me want them too lol keep up the fantastic work Fadi
Thank you very much bro!!
I definitely recommend them, they are one of the bolder dwarf gecko species!
@@daffysreptiles I currently have mourning geckos and absolutely love their tiny behavior.
@@joshuaanderson340 mournings are the best!! Those little chirps are adorable 😅😂
You got some amazing footage of the whole process. Very cool. I have been seeing breeding behavior starting up again with my gold dust day geckos. They are a successful pair.
Thank you so much Casey!
Gold dust day geckos are awesome! I imagine breeding them is similar to this but on a larger scale?
@@daffysreptiles they are pretty similar in size and super quick. They are a look at me gecko, not touch me.
Great video ! Very thorough
Thank you very much!
Another great guide.
Thank you! Glad you think so!
Pls more Infos about this geckos Show the terra pls
awesome. nice vid.
Thank you!!
🤘I have to get into these guys.
Definitely recommend them and they are pretty bold for a small species. I see them almost every time I look into their vivarium!
they're so cute
They are!!
Hi, i just saw two eggs in my terrarium and its my first time i will hatch this amazing animals, my question is can i give them a fly as i give to the adults?
Congratulations on getting eggs! Once they start they don’t stop so be ready for lots of babies hahaha!
You can definitely give the babies flies like the adults but they likely won’t take them for the first week or two cause they’re pretty small! And when you do start offering them definitely start with melanogasters not the hydei!
What plants are you using in the main vivarium? I love this design and would love to replicate something similar.
Thanks! This vivarium was designed by a friend - Newledge Reptiles! I believe the plant in the middle is a ficus benjamina, there is also a parlour plant in the back and a dracena marginata!
@@daffysreptiles thank you so much :)
Great vid! Do you by any chance sell these geckos? I have a female I’d love to house with a male. I’m having trouble finding a source that is not wild caught and the pet store I bought my female from doesn’t plan to restock.
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I don’t have any for sale at the moment. Are you in Canada? Send me a DM on Instagram i maybe able to find you some!
Can you share where you got the clear feeding thing? Thanks! Love your video
Thank you! It’s a pangea product but I bought it at my local reptile store!
Hello i was looking to adopt them. They will live in my bathroom in a lil larger than 5 gallon sized space in width. Hight may change. We are first tine gecko keepers, however i am pretty good with animls and plants. I have a few questions though. How many can live together? 2 or more females perhaps? How long do they live? Can i keep then with grown isopods? Should i adopt a neon day gecko instead? If u could answer these or give any tips i would be very thankful.🦎
Hello! If you have a large enough space you can keep a few together, I’ve only ever kept the pair together and the babies but I’ve heard of other keepers keeping them in groups, but you would definitely need more space than a 5 gallon for a group!
I believe their life expectancy is somewhere around 10 years but I’m not sure. And yes they can live with isopods no problem.
What gecko you adopt is up to you but I would not recommend putting a neon day gecko in something as small as a 5 gallon either!
For the calcium powder in the tank, do you use with d3 or without?
Without d3 most of the time a few times a month I will add the calcium with d3
Can you keep them with other species? Like phelsuma klemmeri?
I’ve never tried it I don’t know! I think klemmeri would get big enough to bully these guys!
I have 3 and they are all brown female. I wonder how yours has male-like colors. Are yours from local store or online?
I’m not sure why but all the females I’ve seen in my area look like my female! I got her from a friend of mine but I believe he picked them up from a breeder here in Canada!
Do you keep one male with one female or can you do larger groups?
I personally only keep them as a pair but I have heard of some people keeping them in groups!
Is it better to have them 1 M + 1 F or can it be a group of 1M + 3F?
I have them as a pair but I believe they are communal and would do okay with 3 females to 1 male!
Can I use a 30x20x20cm to house 2 of these?
I would recommend at least a 30x30x45cm for just the one!
Hey Mate,
how do i keep my Hatchlings escaping from an Exo Terra?
I wanna keep them with the Adults if its possible..
Today i found 1 Hatchling crawling around my Floor again..
Hey! It’s definitely possible I know a few people doing it. First thing would be to make sure the 6 holes in the back of the Exo Terra are sealed. A lot of people will tape a small piece of cardboard on top of it aswell. The other place they could get out is at the hinges, I’m not sure how well this works but one tactic I’ve heard is sticking damp paper towels in the hinges this still allows the doors to open and close without allowing the babies to get out.
It can be done but it definitely isn’t easy which is why I prefer to raise them in other enclosures!
Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!
I keep mine in exo terra by stuffing some moss into the holes along the back and any spaces in background. I haven’t had any issues with the front doors/vent holes.
Could I use a 12x12x18 to breed a pair of these guys or something similar? Could I leave the eggs alone and them hatch inside enclosure?
You probably could but I would recommend something bigger to give them a chance to move away from each other! I used a 18x18x18 Exo Terra.
You could leave the eggs in the tank and the babies will hatch however the babies are small enough to fit through very tiny gaps so I prefer to take the eggs out!
@@daffysreptiles sweet! Thanks! I build my own tanks so they’re hard to escape unless I’m careless or someone messes with them! I an tempted to get a pair because of how beautiful these animals are
Are you able to keep them in a tank alone or do they need to be paired? (im not trying to breed them)
You could keep them separate for sure if you don’t want to breed them! If you haven’t already purchased some maybe consider two females instead!
@@daffysreptilesare two males territorial like crested geckos?
How big are the baby geckos after hatching?
About 2-2.5 cm!!
Reproduction is so freaky
😂😂
