Akrapovic slip-on for the Ktm 890R Duke, how does it sound?

- I had the Akrapovic slip-on fitted before I bought the bike, new, nearly 2 years ago, from the KTM Power parts catalogue, fitted by the dealer.
Is it any good? How does it sound?

I have the same one, when you use it along with the QS the sound is delicious, I love the sound of that motorcycle.

Great video! The sound came through great at the stop sign and you could really hear it. I think it’s great you put the Akro on. Once you purchase a bike you want to personalize it. At least I do. That’s part of the fun, isn’t it? Beautiful bike for sure. I would definitely keep it. Best!

Have the Akra slip-on on mine. Love the bike and not get ridding of it any time soon. Excellent engine, excellent handling and excellent brakes. What I might add is that at any *ahem* decent speed you don't hear the exhaust as the rider, so the Akra noise is only a factor at lower 'town' speeds. It does however look a lot better as you said.
Yes it does sound good. I’ve put an Arrow can on mine which seemed to have helped as well. Must say though, your black livery looks so so good. The last two winters I think about selling my 890R, and then summer rolls around and how quickly my tune changes. So I understand you completely, hehe👏

I have a ‘21 890 duke (non r). Whilst stock exhaust could look a little better, I’m not sure theres massive difference. Do you still have the stock pipe? Perhaps a sound comparison if you can be arsed?? Also would love a comparison vid of screen vs no screen. Enjoy - and get to on some French roads soon!!!
Hi Jonathon, do you know what? I had put the original exhaust back on just to hear it and I thought I had done a video on that but obviously I haven't . Yes I agree that there is not much difference whatsoever as from memory the oem when I put it back on sounded fine BUT looked awful. The little screen also helps to keep all the crap off the front of the bike, bugs etc 🙈
I just got the 890R in the end of November but haven’t had a chance to ride it yet because I’m in the north east America and it very cold here but I can’t wait to get out there and ride thanks for all your insight of yours I will keep it all stock for this up coming summer and then perhaps I’ll do a new muffler and some other up grads I definitely want that wind screen to help protect the tft display

Hi, I use it on the bikes in the helmet and pope in my rucksack for exhaust sound, also in the garage on my t shirt....haven't let me down ...yet.👍

For external maybe a foam or fluff cover to get it closer?.
So what equipment are you using. Set up etc.
I'm after something for myself. Love the 890 I really want an R myself. I have a S1000R for now.
@@Yii00T dji action 3, far more reliable than the GoPro's and just got the insta 360 x3. I think gopro quality outdoes the action 3, but not sure how close the new action 4 is to the gopro in terms of quality...BUT having had so many issues with gopro freezing etc I simply refuse to use them. less stress now. 😂

its too bad you didn't put the akrapovic on the beemer as well, I have it on my GSA and it sounds as fantastic as it does on your KTM 😎
The SC Project sounds great so for me it was a great choice 👍
This exhaust looks much better, but IMO it's just not worth the money for the lack of extra noise you get. I've chosen the SC Project can it sounds a lot meatier!
At the time I just ticked a load of stuff of the KTM power parts list . Would more than likely research others if I were doing it again but at the time I couldn’t be bothered 😂😂 SC Project is on my new BMW R1250GS and I could be bothered for that one 👍
@@gsd32i Fair play, the GS is a lovely machine 😎 saw a video of a guy who cuts open the OEM exhaust on the Duke and empties it out, then sprays it black, looks awesome!

I've got one and I'm 68..pull yerself together man...mind you riding it round the channel islands would drive me bloody nuts, a little electric job would be much more fun

If you actually rode your bikes vs. screwing around constantly with them you might find they are a blast to ride :)
