- I've used the LG C1 48" TV as a PC monitor for the past 6 months. Overall, it's quite a unique display with upsides and downsides. Hopefully the new C2 42 inch Evo lives up to the expectations!
Thanks for watching!

Great review, no BS just straight up good points on both pro's and con's. I'm gonna check out the 42". Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great high quality videos! Subbed! Hope to see you grow into a much bigger channel
Awesome stuff man happy to hear you love your tv
The contrast of colors with HDR on is ridiculous on the C1. I remember playing Origins @ 1440p on medium settings climbing Alexandria's light tower at night, and the contrast of the moonlight hitting the tower looked amazing! I got a 3080 12GB now and play in 4k, but I remember how good it looked even in 1440 when I 1st got it. I've had it for a year and a half now, and I haven't had any burn ins. I also got a 4-year warranty just to have a piece of mind, but I would totally recommend this TV/monitor for the "do it all for movies, TV shows, next gen gaming..."
Great video,i am looking to get the LG C2 42 inch as my main monitor, are you planing to do a review on that one as well?.Any chane to have a link to that buble screensaver?,is awesome!!!
I would love to get myself a c1 or c2 though my use case is 36 hour work week with static images displayed on the screen, and of course gaming and tv show watching.
I'd love a guide on how to properly setup a c1 to mitigate that risk.
Invest in a g1, it has a five year burn in warranty. Worth it
@@astronomer25 not exactly true. It has 5 year panel warranty but labor for someone fixing it costs you. Who knows what they want to charge for that!
nice video. Where I can get for my 48" the nice screen server tha you have running in the video?. Thanks
Hey so how comfortable is the chair to watch movies on? Does it recline good?
my 4090 paired with a 65 inch Lg c1 looks amazing .
Hey what do you think of the C2 for the same thing? I've heard the C1 is fantastic for color grading and I would be using it for that and the same reason that you do. But have you tested the C2?
Hey Alex what's the fluro blue wallpaper in the beginning shot?
I got the 55 inch with my 3090 strix no burn in issues
Can I get 120 hz with my razor blade 15 over hdmi my gpu3070 and cpu i7 and if is good enough thinking about getting pc in futures
Got the 55" version over a year ago for a 1000 for everything basically tv, movies and gaming on PS5 and pc. So far it’s pretty awesome.
Do you lock your fps too 120fps hz on pc or go unlocked to 240fps with some screen tearing trying to ask others this seeing what they do
@@Real.384 no I don’t.
I've been using my LG CX 48" for almost 2 years and it's been great. No Burn in or anything wrong with it. Going to upgrade to the new LG C2 42" when it's available. Runs great with my RTX 3090. My CX feels identical to a "Gaming Monitor" and 4K 120Hz is plenty for me.
The 42” C2 is definitely going to be interesting!
I’m here because I just purchased this monitor, prime day made it irresistible lol. Also I’m here because I follow you on tik tok and ironically I noticed your profile image on here in a reply 😂 thank you sir. I actually am a wood worker, built an entire red elm/walnut desk and built a new pc for this monitor 5600x/rx6750xt. We’ll see how some of these games do at 4K on a non 4K oriented card
I currently have a 55 cx I use my 3090 and ps5 but I feel like it’s too big would a 48 inch c1 be any better currently it’s 796 so not bad at all
So then what’re you gonna do with ur old tv?
@@Human-bf7kz 10/10 6750xt has been great however for high refresh 4K maybe run at least the 6900xt, regardless it’s been a game changer literally. I’ll never go back
how is the text?is it sharp enough since it has low ppi compared to monitor?
Hello can someone help me PLS? I have lg C1 48' paired with 7900xt but i cant run 4k 120 hz with HDR...i can only 4k 120hz without HDR and only if i scale resolution down to 4k like 1440p HDR turn on. What i have to set? Its really strange... Thx in Advance for any help
Is it good for spreadsheets and Ms word document editing or other office type use? Or the PPI is too low for viewing text even if you just bold fonts?
Its not even the pixel density - its the subpixel layout - meaning that small text is not as sharp as it is on a regular LED screen. Its still usable though - just prepare to up the scaling factor - or squint a little bit
I bought the 48" LG C1 as a PC monitor approximately a month ago and I love it!!!
I have now moved my PS5 and Switch dock from the TV room to my desk so I do all my gaming on the C1.
I use a large harvest table as my desk so I have plenty of space for the C1.
I do not play multiplayer let alone competitive gaming so 4k 120hz is enough for me.
I switched from a very nice MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD 27" to the 48" C1...I would have gone with 42" if it had been available so I am happy it was not.
Now that I have the 48" 4k 120hz screen, I will never go smaller.
Also, my 48" C1 has the EVO panel, so I think it should have more longevity then the alternative panel because my EVO is not being pushed as hard as the G1 would push it.
Your video describes exactly my experience thus far...and I too keep the brightness pushed to the maximum.
That’s awesome to hear!
@@SpecterTech I still use 42" plasma TV as monitor better than oled

Can you plz plz do another how to setup a prebuilt pc for windows 11 and show me how to update the all the lates things for it and for gpu plzz because I’m buying a prebuilt and you know a lot about that and can you make sure you can show me how to plug pc to monitor correctly please buy the Way I’m getting a Corsair prebuilt plz Alex help me out
does this work good on Mac as well?
I just crossed the 5 month mark with my 48" C1, and I already have over 2,200 hours on it.
Also, I ran some burn in tests last week and found no indication of burn in.
I bought 65 C1 for PS5 and Xbox, but right now choosing monitors for PC, found that probably I don't need them :D
@@volodymyrrudov-tsymbalist7782 I had a really nice 27" 1440p 165hz gaming monitor (MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD) however I was never completely satisfied with PC gaming until I bought the 48" C1...and it made a massive improvement to my PC gaming experience.
Now my PC gaming experience is like console gaming but without having to choose between fidelity/resolution mode vs performance mode.
Furthermore, I moved both my PS5 and Switch dock to my desk so all my gaming is in one location.
As of today, Sept 13/22, I have 2,788 hrs on my C1.
@@bilbobaggins7527 Whats your PC GPU ?
@@Human-bf7kz I have a ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC.
What movie is that at 3:15?
Can you get 4k 120hz with the new m1 max laptop?
no! the m1 chip is block to output in 120hz
ABL is still a problem, there are times when day scenes look overcast on OLED. Its because brightness plummets after like a 50% window with some real scenes hitting around 150 nits(or about as dim as a CRT). In most content people report not noticing the auto dimming, PlayStation looked great. I noticed the dimming straight away on Switch games and then couldn't not notice it again, it happens in all content dynamically depending on APL. Despite all the attention on games I think it does way better at movies.
Also don't expect to be blown away by all the time HDR, its good but again due to APL limitations you cannot expect it to maintain highlights in modestly bright scenes and it will lose handily to a good LCD.
Also getting your white to look white out of the box is not straight forward, it looks like blue grey even at peak. Had to go up to red +50 on my set but it really needs a calibration. Apparently LG learned and are very accurate out of the box on the C2.
It is not a TV or monitor with no compromises, as a monitor it can be really annoying and you'll want to have the lights off the whole time. Its still probably near the best option for a desk TV though and makes most of the IPS gaming monitors a total rip off proposition.
I think you can turn this off right?
every monitor in the world has ABL. Just OLED it's more obvious because of the blacks. Set the brightness lower and ABL is less aparerent/non visible.
How dare this guy makes me second guess my bad decision lmao
You can use a TV as gaming monitor but its not good for your eyes. For example I can use monitor to be gaming 15-16 hours a day and I have no issues. However I got 43" LG TV. If I do games or watch movies for 3 hours I get eyes pain and headache. I would always choose a monitor instead a TV.
Review Studio Display please🥺
Currently in progress! 🤓
Good choice for multiplayer games ?

But start price of 42 c2 is double price 48 c1.

For me the one major thing that keeps me from getting an OLED, I use my TV as PC monitor and for everything including movies and gaming. I use it from a cozy recliner. I digress. It's the ASBL.
I cannot stand the auto-dimming. It's not as much worry of burn in because I can deal with that with a BB warranty and get panel replaced or even money back. I will never go into service menu to turn those off and risk my warranty. No way in hell.
But I tried the S95B, it was very nice, but the auto dimming, holy crap it was annoying it went nearly black after just a few minutes. I rather go with MiniLED now instead. Some of them are getting damned close to OLED but brighter now. This year going to be highly interesting. With them, there is no worry about burn in or dimming or anything like that.
I have an LG C1
been using it for ps5 fir a year. Extensive viewing too as it's my main entertainment screen.
My plan is to link it to gaming PC.
the auto dim, eco settings I turned off...
Burn in not even remotely detectable.
I can't speak for other brands but I got the C1 as they declare tech that limits Burn in risks.
Do your homework but I love my 75 inches of gaming.
I can't wait to have that beast GPU pushing graphics on the OLED will be great.
I use a 48 C1 as a monitor and turned off the ABL with the menu mod. Turned my C1 into an Evo because it had the panel, but without activation, it just sits there. Makes the hdr so much nicer.
Dude I'm set mine at like 100 brightness for 2 years now sometimes forget to shut it off and have a bright line on the screen haven't had any issues.
Tons of videos about movies on the C1? I don't think so, sadly, the 95% of videos are for gaming.
After the update on my C1 03.25.20, the image has drastically deteriorated and everything is somehow blurry and the colors are not as beautiful as before. All day I tried to adjust the settings but there is no progress. How to solve the problem?
use google and not youtube for your questions lmao
Cyberpunk looks sick on this wow
burn in is not a problem anymore have lg 2 years as monitor no burn in :D but now when you have 27 Oled monitors they are better for gaming this Tv have it problem like gamma flickering if you dont have 120fps and dunno about dim i have oled pixel 60 playing in night and it litellary burning my eyes sometimes 200cd is good for SDR dunno how some people can play 400cd on SDR games monitors
"Nitch" you mean Niche 😅❤
I play cod and going to buy pc with 3080 and i9 would I want a monitor to handle higher fps and not be maxed out a 120fps unfortunately I already own this TV and I’m trying to avoid buying new monitor
it'll do fine lol? i mean, you know buying something capable of over 120 fps with a 120hz display is going to somewhat limit it, but dude it will be fine
unless you were going 2k 144-165-175 hz or 1080p 240hz i mean, theres an argument to be made for the higher refresh rates but im pretty sure you're used to the 4k clarity now, and ive heard from plenty of people going from 2k to 1080p again was a grating experience
@@FJaypewpewI have the lg cx sometimes I just say fuck it. And drop resolution to 1440p on mw3 and get like 240fps so u definitely can get high refresh rates and make it look good. But for me lg cx at 120hz is enough
6:42 you can see how blue and dull the whites look.. this is typical for all OLED screens AFAIK.. That is why the QLED is a way better option for work.. its fine for games
dull XDDD bet you never have oled it white as fuck
You just have to use warm 2 or warm 3...
what kind of L desk do u have?
It’s two Ikea BEKANT 98” countertops together.
That’s a tv not a monitor that looks silly
Why u mad 😂
This TV isn't as perfect as you think, with over 15 ms latency, dang dudes, see ya
good enough for me
Fake news
Input latency is 5ms tho, which is as good or better than even the best gaming monitors so….
@@FG-td4vs yeah is about 6ms with vrr on at 4K and about 10ms without vrr. Either way you get great input lag BUT the c2 has higher input lag around 13ms both with or without vrr which is a disgrace.
Put the oled tv to game mode and low letency mode and it goes to around 5ms way better than my 500$ monitor
