Matt mentioned how Ash's viewing a friend's of the game of Last of Us was the modern day equivalent to playing the game.... I know a *shocking* amount of FNAF lore for never touching the game itself. Played literally zero minutes of it but due to watching let's plays of Mark and Matt? My brain is filled with various FNAF bits and bobs. 😆

Same! I've never even looked for it on any stores, I've simply just listened and watched the lore.
I simply don't have the funds currently to get a PS5 or proper PC set up, so I watch Let Play's of most games I'm interested in.
I own all of the old games but have never been able to beat one of them. The closest I got to beating was sister location, but gave up and stuck to watching them on CZcams. I know so much from gameplay and video essays from since I was a kid, it's a little silly
Similar for me, but I've played Fnaf 4 and Sister Location a bit. I just can't beat them.

The only reason Mat isn't most afraid of betrayal is unfortunately because he's already had to live through the whole defy media thing.

@Funbro If I remember right Mat had someone he trusted tell him to his face that Defy was a great company and such only a couple months before they just peaced out without paying their content creators 1.7 million in months of back pay.
There's more to it than that. In the beginning, you had to sign up with a corporation in order to be CZcams monetized, Defy was one such corporation that worked with CZcams.
Eventually, you didn't need it any more, but GameTheory stayed with them because of inertia. Then Defy really did peace out with CZcams's money *for the creators* (it did not belong to *Defy*.)

Something that I find interesting is when ash was explaining why Freddy could be considered the most comforting (37:11) and mentioned how we all had teddy bears as children I remembered that my childhood stuffed animals were for the most part bunny’s, and that’s probably why I find Bonny to be the most comforting.
I find Foxy comforting, and I always had and loved canine themed stuffed animals growing up. Could make sense
I had (still have) all kinds of stuffed animals, but the one I remember most is a moose. There's no moose animatronic though.
How would that even work? The antlers would get in the way so much, it could never get into the vents.

same here!! i’ve had this bunny plushie since i was 7 and almost a decade later and i still own it, point is i also find bonnie the most comforting and i think it’s because this plushie has always been with me (i literally currently have him in my arms in bed as i speak)

Note: Freddy would be considered most dependable for all of the reasons Ash said, but also because he's your shelter in Security Breach.
And Helpy and Psychic friend Fredbear and Golden Freddy are all alterations of Freddie who support you in many ways.

When it comes to trustworthiness of FNAF's colorful main crew, I would choose in this order:
Freddy, for the reasons you guys listed. He's cute and cuddly, sings and has gentlemanly accessories.
Bonnie. He's Freddy's best friend and plays a freaking electric guitar. If Freddy trusts him, I can too, right?
Chica for being adorable, brightly-colored and offering us treats. Big sister or motherly energy.
Foxy, he's the bad boy on the block. He's a fun-loving buccaneer, but might get you in trouble with your parents if you go sailing with him. Likely to launch cannon balls at your hometown.
Having to answer a series of personal existential questions. Truly the scariest FNAF game.
Also, I do hope they make a real Freddy's Pizzeria someday where, like at Rainforest Cafe, the lights go off every so often and the animatronics disappear from stage and people dressed as them walk around the guests under flickering light until the regular lights come back on and they reappear on stage again. And while you're eating, you can hear mangle crawling through the vents. Would traumatize any family that walked in unknowingly. XD

I know it's part of the horror genre but I kinda want there to be a horror game where nothing scary happens, everything just seems like a normal game and it's only through sub text that you start to uncover the darker nature.
Perhaps a person slowly coming to realize that so long as they exist in the game the npc's will never be free, forced to watch as a main character determines their fate for them. That they were once happy and now forced to watch and wait for themselves to be allowed to move for the players convenience.

A lot of the questions in this one remind me of a really unique DDLC mod called Somnium that came out a couple of years ago. Half the mod had to do with Yuri, and the other half was very much like this in terms of psychological testing, and it wasn't super obvious how the two halves connected until you played through the whole thing and then traced back the events of the story. Really neat stuff, might be hard to find a download of it these days though.
The way I got transported back to bootcamp when MatPat pulled out that flashlight (aka "moonbeam" IYKYK) LOLOL Also, I love that MatPat gets some nostalgia, that was super sweet. :)

I have served in the Army, abd I'm going back soon. But we use those flashlights, which are given to us when we get our equipment from Basic Training. For BCT, you are only allowed to use the red filter when performing firewatch, so as to not disturb other people when they are sleeping, along with other reasons.

Since the first time I recall seeing one used like this, is from the Garfield live action movies.
And then FNaF, among other "horror games" that also implement them.

ngl I would /love/ to see an analysis of personality types compared to favored animatronics and whether or not there's any correlation - and I know GT has looked at things like that before (e.g. when looking at choices made in Life Is Strange), so it wouldn't even be out of place.

Im an ISTJ, bonnie (+ kinda foxy, but he has a hook so…), and I believe in both free will and fate. Although by fate I think some things are predetermined but the path to it isn’t (Like Mat could have started CZcams later in life, but it was always gonna happen)

I was waiting for you to play this one! I'm so glad you could. The part where Freddy was looking at you from the window was so frightening considering I never found Freddy scary throughout all of the games.
Fun fact: the voice actor for hand unit is a small CZcamsr who does extremely good impressions of characters and as far as I know right now is a professional voice actor.

Idk if they plan on doing constant live streams but they have done them for charity (st. Jude specifically) right now they sotra busy with Olly and things
