    Thanks for being awesome David, love watching your videos. I just spent an enjoyable afternoon cutting out the pieces as you described. What's the approximate width of that board you used? Wondering if I should have used the 10" pine instead of the 8.
    Cheers!

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Joshua I believe i used a 19cm board close to 8” which is good for a small stool but you can scale it up to a full size bench and it will be strong Good luck with your project Happy Woodworking David

    Thanks for the excellent tutorial David, I've cut all the parts out, only I've used chipwood?? Will this split when I put the nails in?

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Jason yes chipboard isn’t very good with nails if you have some way to drill small pilot holes it will help Let me know if I can be of any further assistance Take care David ps use the thinnest nails you have to help prevent splitting you can cut off nails head and use it as a small drill to make pilot hole

      @@RusticDavid Thanks David for your quick response and advice.
      In this case would you use screws instead??

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 4 lety +1

      Jason Burton Hi screws would be preferable if you can make pilot holes first, if your screw diameter is 4 mm drill 4mm in “top”piece and drill2.5 mm in “mating” piece , countersink “ top “piece so the screw head is flush you can ose the tip of a 10mm bit as a countersink

    When i saw the plywood the hand saw jams between the wood why, is the saw bad or my technique is wrong any tutorials pls

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 3 lety

      Hi yogesh possibly your saw is old and the teeth need resetting that’s to say they are not wider than the saw plate and the plate gets stuck or possibly you’re not keeping the saw straight in the cut try just moving the saw back and forth in a straight line without applying downward pressure plywood isn’t the easiest to cut with a hand saw due to the grain running in two different directions try using a finer tooth saw ,czcams.com/video/fWK643fAn6o/video.html maybe this will help good luck let me know how you get on David

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 2 lety

      Hi Andrew i used a 20mm chisel to remove excess material and square things up if you don’t have a sharp chisel you can use a file,a rasp or some sand paper on a block of wood
      Good luck Happy Woodworking David
