Yup. Toro Rosso and then Red Bull were good but then they started favouring Verstappen. I never really got the feeling Ricciardo had settled in with Renault. But McLaren just have the perfect environment for him.
@@bipbapthegrunt To be fair to Renault last year, even after they found out he signed with Mclaren they still supported him and gave him whatever he needed. When Verstappen joined Red Bull I felt they didn't care what he needed, they just wanted him to support Verstappen and shut up.

I think he can be the best on his day.
He beat Verstappen fair and square until he announced he was leaving, even with Red Bull having already engineered a win for Max at the expense of Daniel (Max's first win).
Daniel is very detail oriented and intense when he needs to be. along with being a pr person's dream. i know its been said a million times but its an absolute coup getting ricciardo. gets everyone excited about mclaren all over again

Also, McLaren has the numbers of an old school P2 team (3 and 4)...let's go for P2 for real, folks!

Fair to say the seat fitment test needed a fair bit done to get Dan happy as you would expect. I was surprised to see how fairly timid he was was his requests. Hes an unreal driver and could be a lot more brazen't if he wished. Very Polite guy, clearly hasn't let fame or money get to his head.
If he came in kicking off about small stuff like the seat the team wouldn't grow to like him so he is doing the right thing although I suspect if he turned up at the first gp and the seat was awful he might be more honey badger about the situation
I think teams respect the fact that a driver can communicate with them about small things and be more open... a team doesn't want someone who doesn't speak up when needed be and then gets all riled up because he bottled everything inside..
There’s just something about Daniel that makes the people around him laugh and smile constantly and I love it 🧡
his smile and his witty humor make him very personable! one of my favorite drivers off the track for sure

Yeah I think it's gonna be like a dark blue semi grey ish color with the orange. Based on the masks colors.

I miss Carlos, but I hope Daniel can fill that void. Seems like the team really want the best for Daniel as you could see in this video so that’s very optimistic. But yeah Carlos will never be forgotten
Yeah it feels kinda weird seeing Ricciardo instead of Sainz lol. But I think Mclaren got a really good driver on their hands. Ricciardo is someone who knows how to win races, and he's also one of the most experienced guys on the track with many diffrent insights from diffrent teams. Mclaren will do awesome this year, mark my words.
But I am excited to see Carlos and Charles to screw around lol

I've been waiting for the day to see more of Daniel. I love his charisma, attitude, and just his all around personality. It's also great to see Mclaren video Daniel. He really needed some more i guess, publicity? That's probably not the right word to use but Renault was really boring and never made videos like these to showcase their drivers and their factory and all the behind the scenes stuff. So it's great to see this with Daniel.

Honestly Danny Ric is one of the most down to earth guys on the grid - had the pleasure of meeting him in 2017 and he's just so easy going and nice to talk to 👍🏻

This means there's definitely 5 ( and probably 6 because i'm pretty certain Lewis will be on grid despite not currently having a contract to race) current or ex Mclaren Drivers on the grid this year. The 6 being Lewis, Kimi , Fernando, Daniel , Lando and Carlos . Also everyone don't try and and force a bromance between Daniel and Lando because you will all just be disappointed.
I think he does have a contract, Merc released their car reveal date and it wouldn't happen without both drivers so I think it was done privately and will be announced closer to the time :)
@@itzartros9350 I disagree that it is done if it was done weeks ago they would have announced it by now. Why would they deliberately delay such an announcement . Where is,the benefit?
@@TheSt1092 I just think because of the reaction of Hamilton to his contract demands would affect publicity if they were seen to just bow down to him. Thats why I think it was done behind closed doors that's all. It would just be weird announcing a car reveal without both drivers being there :)
