    Fantastic gear. Been using APB Dynasonics since its inception.

    I picked up the ProSpec™ 1U8M and im one of those people who use it as a recording studio center piece. 8 preamps for the drums while using inserts for compression during tracking. Then use the inserts returns from the daw for analog summing. Its sharp and accurate yet very..analog. clean is over used when describing preamps. These are.. prestine. Lol hard to explain but the preamps were the most surprising part. Like i haven't touched my audient since😅. Saving my coins for a ProRack House. Just trynna wrap up my design of how i plan on incorporating it i. My studio. yeah.. love u guys work. 💪

    Oh man, I miss the Spectra Ti I used to mix on. Such a great console. Like any analog board being trucked from gig to gig, it devolved some issues, but one of my best audio memories is trying to figure out an issue on that board, calling up APB for tech support (expecting the usual read-suggestions-from-the-book assistance), and none other than John Petrucceli answers the phone. He then proceeded to walk me through testing ribbon cables and solder points until we narrowed down the issue. Amazing company and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them!

    The day they create an inline big console for the studio, that day I will start saving money to buy it.

    I own a Pro Rack House, and run a Pro Desk 832 as my studio console. I always thought APB should have designed/marketed a console specifically for a recording studio application, even though the Pro Desk works beautifully in a hybrid situation.

    My new ProRack House is in the mail... can't wait. What a group of great minds went to APB. Love their approach to audio.

      Hey, that's awesome. Have you used the ProRack before? You're going to LOVE it!

    I'm an engineer and I've started my own mixing desk company. I was hoping to buy out APB, but they decided to Re-op before I could make them an offer.
    Now I'm building hand wired consoles, Built in the USA; that's what I used to like about APB.

      Hey Zip, that sounds really cool! Did you speak with Chuck directly about all of this? He's worth reaching out to even now, I imagine he will have some insight & advice for you going forward. I'd love to learn more about what you are doing too, do you have a website or anything public about your mixers yet? Thanks for the message, looking forward to talking more.

    I first heard about APB as the Midas killers (in terms of sound) from guys I respect in the industry when I was in the market for a Heritage/Verona and Venice for smaller stuff. I figured I'll go with the smaller one first and went with a ProDesk instead of a Venice and man I couldn't be happier. Not only did it blow the venice away but it sounded just as good if not better than a Heritage/XL series Midas. Different, but better. I'm stoked to see what new stuff they put out. Especially some of Dante featured stuff in the pipeline and hopefully digitally controlled analog preamps that can be recallable.

      I felt the same way about this mixer. When analog mixers was king- I had the Midas Venice 32 channel board. I loved it and people would be so amazed of the sound they were hearing from my rig. I contributed a lot of it to the board. Then finally I came across the 16 channel mixer H1020 Pro Rack and did some small gigs with it. A lot of people who had the ear to tell the difference in good live sound came and complimented on how clean my sound system sounded. I pointed to this mixer and they were just so dumbfounded because they never had heard of the name APB Dynasonics!

    Chuck is such a passionate man about his work. My son and I are building a studio from the ground up...it will be analog based...24x2" Mara machine...and my APB spectre TI for console....going with the old school Pre two input idea of 24 channels left side record 24 channels right side mix....I sent a question to apb info. Com and the next day got a long wonderful email from Chuck along with his cell number and a invitation to call him any time as long as it wasn't before 8 am....hehe....good people

      That sounds like an awesome project Richard, I'd love to see photos or a video of it all when you're getting it wrapped up. Chuck is the real deal & is beyond generous with his time when there are questions to answer. Thanks for the message.

    So what you're saying is he is an analog man living in a digital world huh. Sounds familiar.

  • @boukeBrink
    @boukeBrink Před 4 lety +3

    I wonder if they want to compete with Digital or more compliment it? Its hard to justify a heavy analogue console for rental houses and lug around big racks. A console like a dLive or Pro2 saves space in storage, trucks and the backs of the people who are moving it all. It is hard to justify.

    • @Espresso101
      @Espresso101 Před 4 lety

      I own a ProDesk 4 16ch unit and it's much lighter than a Pro 2. Its actually one of the lightest analog consoles I've ever held. And after seeing this video of what's underneath makes sense. I can't speak for a Spectra console though. Which ideally is what you'd likely see getting trucked around on a Bus Tour.

      A Pro2 has 4x as many channels. My question was how it would compare or hold up to a digital console with. So At least 6 effects, plenty of compressors, noise gates and such.
