    Thank God someone with common sence knows what wheels and tires to put on a classic. Im so sick of seeing these older and later model trucks and cars with these stupid 20 inch or taller wheels and skinny tires.. It look like a steel wheel steam engine on the road.. God bless you man you saved my hope in the human race..lol you cant buy these trucks no more I dont blame you for spending the money and keeping a truck that's well built..

    Can you say what size your Wheels are ?? I love the chrome for sure... I just bought a 1988 and having trouble with the wheels. Are the 15x10 and do you know the offset depth or whatever

    • @maxgrey3741
      @maxgrey3741  Před 3 lety

      The wheels are American Racing 15X10 and I believe the offset is -38. Don't quote me on the offset.

    Maaan this is nice nice...I actually just got an 83’ F-150 close to the same condition yours was originally in....so about how much would I be looking at for restoration cost ?

    • @maxgrey3741
      @maxgrey3741  Před 5 lety +1

      Depends on what you want to do to the engine and trans. My trans was a C6 in perfect condition. Although I replaced almost everything electrical I only put a new Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 4 brl carb on the engine. I did put new Jegs hydraulic flat tappet cam in as well. With all that along with body work which I did myself and paint I put $3400 into the truck. I also put new carpet and recovered the seat for the cost. Ceramic window tint too was all part of that cost.

      Max Grey that is extremely cheap with amazing look! I have a buddy who spent 15k, mostly because he isn’t mechanical... it goes to show how much cheaper a DIY is

    • @maxgrey3741

      Rims are 15 x 10's, tires are 32's and the truck is factory height, no lift, so shocks are standard for the 1983 F150

      No, all trim is original. Spent hours on the buffer... Good luck with your assembly. Sounds like a clean truck.
