Im so sick of seeing these older and later model trucks and cars with these stupid 20 inch or taller wheels and skinny tires.. It look like a steel wheel steam engine on the road.. I just picked up an '83 garage find.... hasn't been started in 10-12 years..... got her started long enough to get it on the trailer. Solid truck...surface rust only...RWD with the 302.... 75,000 miles... 119,000 km
I have a 1984 f 150 with a 302 that I really want to restore. I love the older trucks. It has under 75000 original miles. Phenomenal job on that restoration of that truck.
That's one sweet truck we've got an 83 up also that the body's all original suspension everything motor is originally rebuilt but I'm getting ready to put gt40p heads on it I've already got a summit camshaft in it headers and dual exhaust with the Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers also Edelbrock intake and Summit 650 on it but getting ready to do some more work on it

I'm not a flashy person at all. I wanted as original look as possible. A friend had to convince me to put diamond plated metal around the bed. I thought it would be too flashy but it ended up ok for me. Thanks.

Funny, one of my gripes is how hard it is to find a swb f150 with a manual in my area. lots of 2wd manuals, seemingly much fewer manual 4wds.. I just bought a reg cab long bed 4x4 with the 300 i6 just so I have all the parts I need to made a SWB truck manual and 4wd when I find the right truck...
I think I'm done buying new trucks. They're waaay toooo complicated. Question, can you still get parts for these older trucks ? Could you make money restoring these and selling them ? I'm in love with what you are doing. Beautiful.
You have to search around for parts but there are still a few good online shops with them. Some came from a salvage yard. I've been offered 11k above what I have in it but I did 90% of the work myself.

Depends on what you want to do to the engine and trans. My trans was a C6 in perfect condition. Although I replaced almost everything electrical I only put a new Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 4 brl carb on the engine. I did put new Jegs hydraulic flat tappet cam in as well. With all that along with body work which I did myself and paint I put $3400 into the truck. I also put new carpet and recovered the seat for the cost. Ceramic window tint too was all part of that cost.

Love it. I had an 82 bronco. Hard to beat those models but then they went to crap with the 87-91 models. They were junk.
Aslmx junk how? A lot of people love them. Personally I have 3 92-96 models right now, all of them bombproof and reliable like an old hammer

GM guy here, these Ford's i remember the first time as a kid i liked the 4.9 i6 engine better if i own a Ford F150/Bronco
They are good engines too but the 351W in the early 80's proved to be a great engine as well.

The rims are American Racing 15x10, tires are the older style Mudclaw's 32 x 11.5

The wheels are American Racing 15X10 and I believe the offset is -38. Don't quote me on the offset.

Rims are 15 x 10's, tires are 32's and the truck is factory height, no lift, so shocks are standard for the 1983 F150
