A tragic figure in her personal life, as many seem to falsely ascribe her illness with depression to her actual character and blame her for her mistakes, but for all that, her films still move me and her dancing is fabulous, and her talent for comedy is still severely under rated. I only learned of her in the 1990's but I hope to make more people here in Tasmania aware of Jessie.

Her films and shows defined a whole period in between the two world wars. I am sure she had no idea that her legacy would be so important.
