I know Simon should get most of the credit for the feeling of this show, but Miquita was ace too. Perfect stooge who couldn't quite contain her laughter.
they have the internet with millions of hours of podcasts, tv (including the one you’re talking about) and other videos on science. i think they’ll be ok.
Exactly, back when it was analogue and anyone could get an aerial from poundland to tune in each Saturday, my personal favourites were dick and dom, then TOTP, but id flit from that to popworld depending on what they featured, so much nostalg
I know who does she think she and the audience are. Those cheesy self help speeches probably work in America. She’s here promoting her tacky music so she can make lots of money.
I'd forgotten about this era. My memories go up until 2002 when I left school then start again about 2010 when I got married. From what I do remember this was hangover TV before going back out again the next night in that window when you could still smoke in pubs and clubs and when you woke up half the hangover was from the Lambert and Butler or Marlboro Lights if you thought you were cool (Lucky Strikes if you actually were...). Even though it was Popworld it was heavily weighted towards guys with guitars who wanted to be Joy Division and called themselves Pop out of irony. Most nightclubs you'd go to it'd be R&B club music like Usher. I'd like to say I miss these days, but I don't (genuinely I was a functioning alcoholic, I stopped drinking and smoking in 2009 and never looked back).
Simon Amstell's words were so fresh, new and fucking hilarious. He was great back then and his standup routine is top notch. Also, I fancied Miquita Oliver like crazy.
I think Goldfrapp sounds like a cross between a Bond villain and a mucky Australian milk/coffee, why I left this comment on this thread will be be a mystery forever.
God the world has changed so much since 2005. There could never be a show where the presenter takes the piss of pop stars like this. They would all go on twitter after and complain.
The Dead 60's interview with the pull-down projector screen, so hilarious!!! What can you see? Despair. Interesting. Nicki from the Love Bites is such a cutie!
So unusual for me to comment on celebrity these days but f**k me, ive just done a simon anstel marathon of best bits, and he could possibly be the funniest sharpest guy in british comedy history! Absolute genius without a single swear word either!!! Now that's talent ❤
if you wanna feel good about loving quality music, just notice how much of these pop artists and songs are completely forgotten today. 20 years from now, same will happen to the current bullshit music
The projector screen bit 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Simon: "I want you to look at this. (Projector screen comes down) "What do you see here?" "Despair" Projector screen goes up. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 HOW THE HELL DID THEY LOOK AT SIMON WITH A STRAIGHT FACE? 😂😂😂😂

Holy shit 2005 looks like another planet.
jonwthan richman Lol it really doesn’t, and if you think that then I wonder what you think of the 90s 😄
In what way?
@@TellyArchive He's not wrong, They're on planet Standard Definition and we are on planet High Definition.
It was a simpler time. And a better one.
Even more so now

"You just threw cheese at Sam & Mark. Don't you think they have suffered enough?"
Simon is the definition of razor sharp wit.
rachel stevens at 48...she will be quite pleased with that.
hilarious!
I feel sorry that kids today don't have a show like this anymore. It was legit great every week.

@@chiip90 plus i bet none of the podcasts etc interview or treat the celebs like Simon did.

Today there is so much more variety. CZcams didn’t even exist back in 2005.
Miquita is just lovely, how she keeps a straight face in those interviews, impressive.
why does 12 years ago feel like yesterday? Where have I been all these years?
Going over the same old ground. What did you find? The same old fears.
It's depressing man
13 years ago feels like a parallel universe bro
I've done dick all in the intervening time but this still feels like a long time ago to me.
Getting old is shit
I always thought if I went back in time it would be to the 60's. Turns out I really want to go back to 2005
I miss this show so god damn much!
The Craig David segment was excellent.
he's such a tool
"what's your favourite genre of sausage?"
And he blames Bo'selecta for his career going down the shitter. He was always such a bellend.
huh? he's very obviously in on the joke and playing along

How have I only just found this? Simon and Miquita openly taking the piss out of the guests was genius.
The naughties were the nuclear fallout from the atomic blast, which was the nineties.
A lot of it was pretty radioactive as in toxic shit. The 'indie' music was pretty mediocre. I thought it was an uninspiring period.
@@incredibleXMando you think the music now is better lmao
gotta love the shorts and tights combo
'I'm gonna stand the test of time'
Sure you are Rachel... Sure you are.
You leave Rachel alone :)
Simons face when Ciara was being really positive 😂
The perfect response to American psychobabble drivel😂
Hats off to Tweet. That interview was a treat.
Definitely hard to beat.
Thinking on her feet.
Sat there looking sweet
Yeah. She made it really not petite.

Yes, 17 is almost 20.
Holy shit! 20 years! That’s almost 30 years, which is almost 50 years, which is basically 100 years! 100 years….I can’t believe it. Time flys.
Craig David's eyebrows have me dying.

Love this show! It’s comical. Everything was better back then.
Simon was hilarious on this! He made the show what it was!
Simon had been watching Brass Eye I think.
Great video and I feel old now so thanks :)
Lot of feathery highlighted a-symmetrical haircuts back in 2005. A more innocent time.

So weird seeing all of these nobody pop singers now.

That was funny.

A fantastic montage of who's was who but now no-one from 2005.

This was like anti-nostalgia to me. So many average guys-with-guitars, dreadful clothes/hair...bad times, man.
Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Amy Winehouse, Florence, Paolo Nutini, Adele saved the second half of the decade
God bless the whole team for giving this warning. It's in there, for those that missed it.
