I hadn't seen any trailers, knew nothing about the show. Literally went in thinking it was a big family fun time. Was very surprised to find out it wasn't a kids show.

I really liked the start of Invincible, it shows the heroes prioritizing helping civilians, that short scene with Darkwing almost losing his life for saving someone made me cheer for him more then I ever have for Snyders Batman. This was also a bit more serious take on the gaurdians of the globe then in the comic where they are mostly just a flat parody.
For operating at 40%, you're both on top of it as usual. Thank you for narrating my Monday mornings for years.
My interpretation is not that they depowered omniman, it's that they powered up the guardians of the globe
yeah, and i'm guessing something about their use of teamwork is some sort of foreshadowing to how he'll be defeated, since he refuses to work with others while they worked together and still beat him half to death despite still losing.
Pretty sure he could have just murdered them instantly but needed plausible deniability and so let them damage him enough that it would seem as though he was also a victim of the attack. I could be wrong but that was the impression that I got.
The characters that die in Suicide Squad will be every one James miss pronounces.
How will his Mr Pronounces be represented then?

Really enjoyed Invincible. Hadn't heard of it till this past weekend. The attack from Omniman was a shocker. Glad I experienced it raw.

I remember when Snyder’s version of Justice League was announced there was some trepidation from some people about it, due to the growing fact it looked like fans had basically bullied WB into giving them what they want. Whether or not it’s true, it made it look like WB folded to intense fan pressure, which isn’t always the best thing. Now Snyder’s hardcore fanboys got what they wanted, I can see them thinking they can just do the same thing on twitter and get what they want, which in this case is now the perceived ‘Snyderverse’ that the DCEU was originally going to be.
Lol .. Warner Brothers bullied? You can't give credit to this small group of people demanding something, there was a lot of factors in the doing what WB did with the Snyder cut... A major company getting bullied 😂 GTFO 🤣
@@chrissadler6459 I find it all stupid anyways that fans think they should just give him full control over the DCEU. That would be the dumbest thing ever. Last thing I want is for him to have like full control and every movie and for them to look and feel the same way. Because pretty much all of Snyder's films are that. Which is the last thing I want out of any comic book movie universe. What I want is for different people to make these films so that they all have a different feel and look to them. Because that is what comic books are all about. You have countless different writers and artists making them to give them all a different look to them. No way do I Snyder to have the final say in everything. And I'm sure if that happened it would only be a matter of time before fans got sick of it and decided to change their minds and no longer want him in control of it.
@@wisewolftony I don't think that's what fans want - from what I've seen online, most just want to see the concluding parts of his Justice League story. And maybe a Batfleck TV series or mini-movie picking up on the Deathstroke stuff. They don't want Snyder to run the DCEU.
That's why a lot of the fans are frustrated that WB are constantly going on about the DC Multiverse, but have completely shut down on any continuation on the part they actually like.
@@arch1017 the only issue is that just the conclusion of his justice league would mean a ~$500 million (without marketing expenses) investment for the two intended films, for a series that showed diminishing returns and declining mainstream interest. There is hardcore fans, but they're hardly enough to justify the production of those movies when the previous ones (MoS, BvS) have failed to pass $800m at the box office

I totally overlooked this show and then my 5 year old son was watching the first episode. Since then my favorite show and he has nightmares. Good times!!!
Also personally I picked up on something being up with Omniman, because he teases Mark for not having his powers yet and Mark seems all sad he doesn’t have any but then when Mark does get his powers he seems distanced and almost sad, his wife who’s name I forget has to kick him under the table so he will sound more happy for Mark getting his powers, he also says somewhere that him actually getting his powers changes everything now, so I didn’t know what was gonna happen but I did feel like something was up
I think he wants to conquer earth judging how he said “Earth isnt YOURS to conquer” to the Flaxxans. Maybe because Mark gets his powers so late he’s become more human than Viltrumite and wont be too excited to help his dad take over the world.
It definitely seemed like the Dad was not as happy as everyone likely expected him to be since prior to the reveal it seemed like he always talked about being a hero like it was the greatest thing ever, likely the reason Mark was so adamant to be a hero to and take the punches. Like, after Mark got his powers, Omni-man seems to always talk about being a hero from a job perspective, talking about needing to be able to deal with the difficult stuff, but seeming to be more talking about repressing feelings about the people Mark couldn't save and stuff like that, especially compared to Eve pointing out instead focusing on who you could save. But, that could also be tied to having done hero work for so long, as well as working with Cecil and the government for so long, rather than whatever other stuff is going on with him.
The Snyder Verse is over. I'll definitely admit that it did create more buzz than I imagined from casual fans. But it still isn't nearly enough for them to change gears considering what they're doing now is way more successful for them. Aquaman was huge, The Batman has a ton of hype around it, even Joker made like a ton of money.
They could do the standalone films like joker and the new Batman and have the snyderverse as well. Their profits from joker and aquaman is surely enough to fund it all.
@@mrsuperwill1 why should those movies support a higher budgeted film that may or may not perform at the box office. If the Snyder fans loved the project so much they all would've signed to HBO Max and shut off every attempt at leaking stuff on CZcams. Yet, CZcams leaks of the best bits and free trials was their way

If I may be so bold, this may be your greatest work. I think this is the most enjoyable episode in a very long time (though you guys are always great), and has made cleaning house much more tolerable. Thanks James and Maso! #punchforabitandnowyouremates
James talking about his kids is my new favourite part of the show - I recently got married, so I appreciate that kind of thing more and more.
I watched it knowing it was violent but having NO CLUE what was about to happen. Had one of the biggest reactions I've had to a twist in a long time. That feeling where your hands are clapped over your mouth that is just so hard to replicate because you really need to be totally unprepared for it.

I didn’t know much about the Invincible going in, but the whole time I was watching the first episode there was this tension building for sure.
I’m not sure it was just JK Simmons voice performance, but I really dug it.
I had a weird sense of dread on the first episode where I kept expecting the other shoe to fall. I was still shocked by how violent and gory it was.
Really good stuff.
Samuel L Jackson roles would make an incredible Suicide Squad: Jules Winnfield, Mace Windu, Nick Furry, etc.

When he killed them İt simultaneously blew my fucking mind and hook me to the show. That being said, that will not help the show separate itself from The Boys.
I went in knowing it was going to have a good bit of gore but I had no idea it was going to get like it did at the end of the season 1. My jaw was on the floor the whole time. After the third episode ended I started the comic and finished the entire comic series in a week. It was great.
Just saw Walters guest star on our retro rewatch of Murder She Wrote. Amazing talent.
my fav cinema memory is the guy 2 rows in front who was filming the entirety of James Cameron’s Avatar on his phone while repeating every single line of dialogue, then got up to use the restroom (in the entrance hall to the theatre room, while still filming). security was alerted and he was arrested as soon has he stepped foot outside of the theatre room.
I'm only aware of Invincible being a thing because of this podcast (and its obscene theme), and I'm thoroughly enjoying Invincible. Thanks guys!
I went in not knowing the twist of Invincible and i was so blown away i was watching with my missus just kinda taking jabs at how they had such obvious justice league rip offs and kinda on board because i loved the voice cast but still wondering why it was such a big deal and why she loved the comic so much and when it hit I had so much dopamine it was so well done and the fact they held back on the violence before made it so much better

Biggest plot hole in all of Invincible is that Allen the Alan works for the Coalition of Planets, which defends planets from Viltrumites, yet he doesn’t recognize Omni-Man as a Viltrumite in their previous encounters despite him rocking the characteristic silly Viltrumite mustache.

I went into the 3 episodes of Invincible well aware of what was to come thanks to a friend who's a fan of the series who spoiled everything before there was even any talk of an animated series. I got him back though since I got the screener for it last month.

I had never read Invincible, nor did I know much about the actual story, but yeah, I definitely was not expecting that turn. It was absolutely incredible, but it came out of nowhere for me lol
The comic pulled it off really well but I dunno how well the show will handle the fact that he killed them all because they made fun of him when he walked out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck to his shoe
Heyy, I worked on this show. I was a background painter, one of the more memorable shots I did is of the wide shot of the .... the big room, whatever it's called, at the end of the first episode with their brains splattered all over the place. It was a super fun gig

Man the suicide squad trailer was amazing I loved seeing Starro that's freaking badass i feel like the Thinker is gonna betray the squad and be a villain like Enchantress was. the scene were most the squad is threatening him kinda seems to support this theory

I've been avoiding all comic spoilers, as tempting as it is (with all the Disney+ stuff I made a habit of watching a billion theory videos), but I did know that there was gonna be a shitload of gratuitous violence. I did not *know* Omniman was evil - but at this point it feels a given that the most powerful guy is a bad dude - that being said the line that fully convinced me was the "we travel out to worlds to be its *only* protector".
Does no one else sees NIGHTWING as inspiration for the INVINCIBLE suit?? Plus the lastname GRAYSON seems very deliberate.

Question to someone who has heard it all - do they spoil the Invincible comic book? I started listening but paused it as it sounded like James was gonna spoil the comic book (something about a demon) - which I guess is pretty similar to what they'll do in the show. I kinda really started hating that since everything that's coming out are comic book-based properties, there are always a ton of people knowing exactly what's coming out and spoiling everything both directly and indirectly through incessant fan theories, and since all of those shows/movies are directly "taking inspiration" from comic books, it's never gonna be anything surprising again unless you shut yourself from the internet forever.

I like invincible but it really just makes me more adamant about the Steelheart book series needing to be a tv or cartoon series. It’s really can be so easily adapted
